POPSJohn McCain's F-Bomb Episode Another example of John McCain's galloping pathological anger. The examples are legion and this is only one more example why he lacks the temperament to President of the USA.

POPSI never thought I would see an anti-soldier veterans group comments from article. * Should have added (4.00 / 1) 'gathering of eagles' and now this offshoot 'eagles up' were formed mostly to continue the blantant Spitting on Kerry, Cleland, and Us 'Nam Vets that don't tow the bushy doctrine, most aren't conflict veterans, many aren't even veterans, though they'll wear colors, patches, etc.. Their main claims of support, if you visit their sites, is doing 'battle' with 'code pink' and crowing about it' mostly false bullshit, I've caught them on a number of times putting up crap of incidents with ''code pink' and 'pro peace' activists they're crowing about and I was witness to. And Boy do they Hate OIF and OEF soldiers that don't tow the same bushy doctrine, reason they're big supporters of VFF and the mercs!!!!!!

POPSChief Justice on Judges and Legal Reasoning Roberts responded: Well, I think I agree with your point about the danger of analogies in some situations. It's not the last, because they are balls and strikes regardless, and if I call them one and they're the other, that doesn't change what they are, it just means that I got it wrong. I guess I liked the one in the middle, because I do think there are right answers. I know that it's fashionable in some places to suggest that there are no right answers and that the judges are motivated by a constellation of different considerations and, because of that, it should affect how we approach certain other issues. That's not the view of the law that I subscribe to. I think when you folks legislate, you do have something in mind in particular and you it into words and you expect judges not to put in their own preferences, not to substitute their judgment for you, but to implement your view of what you are accomplishing in that statute.

POPSGOP Fights For Expedited Delivery Of Ballots To Military In 2000 military ballots were targeted for challenge in the famous Florida recount , and only 48% of the overseas members of the military who requested absentee ballots for the 2006 election had their ballots counted, according to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. Conservatives believe that members of Congress should fight as hard for the right of our military to vote as our military has fought to allow Iraq to have a constitutional democracy. Sens. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas), along with Reps. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are engaging in legislative combat for the rights of our military to vote in the 2008 election.

POPSOutages, Flooding Follow Dolly in TX The piece goes on: Perry, who flew over the area Thursday with U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, cautioned residents not to rest easy just yet. "It appears that we have handled it as well as it can be handled. But it is far from over," Perry said, noting possible flooding over the next five days from runoff as the storm moves northward. Sen. Cornyn said Dolly should remind the federal government that it needs to fund levee improvements along the Rio Grande. "We're lucky Mother Nature didn't deal us a harsher blow," Cornyn said. That's the first time in a long time that I've agreed with John Cornyn.

POPSA Tale of Two Johns We? Out of the 92-6 vote, two senators were not present. One of them was Ted Kennedy, who is home recovering from brain surgery. The other was John McCain. Even John Cornyn was faux-brave enough to vote "yea" after his defiance was stomped out of Congress like a flaming bag of dog shit. Time and time again, John McCain has been a detriment to troops and veterans, not only for his disastrous plans for Iraq but for the curtailing of benefits soldiers receive when they come home. His loyalty no longer resides with fellow veterans but to slick D.C. politics. I know you're not reading this, Senator McCain, but we'll be watching for more of the same.

POPSThe "Big John" Cornyn video - truly dumbfounding! "Yer doin' the Lord's work, and we got yer back." "Kept Texas in power, made lesser states squirm." I think he should ask for his money back. This was made for the Texas Republican convention, but may become the most viewed non-presidential political video of the season.

POPS The 11th Commandment “Though Shalt Not Attack Fellow Republicans.” The Romney camp frames the memo as a top-10 list of McCain’s “attacks” on Republicans. It could also be called “10 instances over the last eight years when McCain got angry or lost his cool.” Oh, and the missive pays special attention to McCain’s use of four-letter words that are not H-E-double-hockey-sticks. Update: On Thursday afternoon, Romney said, “One thing I’m also gonna point out is, particularly in a Republican campaign, I’m not going to talk about the character of the people I’m running against.” He also cited Ronald Reagan’s so-called 11th commandment, something along the lines of, “though shalt not attack fellow Republicans.”

POPSFrom NY Times... ....I'd like to ask this idiot if he knows what the word"accountability" means. On second thought, probably not. he'd just deny that the word even exists!

POPSDrip,Drip,Drip,...To The N.Amer.Union .....--<< "an emerging "North American Community," which is what conference organizer Robert Pastor, a former Carter Administration official, prefers to call it. One of Pastor's students at AU suggests that he even favors a North American Parliament. Pastor, though a Democrat, succeeded in persuading Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn to introduce a "North American Investment Fund" bill to send more U.S. tax dollars to Mexico. Both political parties are seen favoring the process of bringing the three countries together into an entity like the European Union that now governs Europe and supersedes the Sovereignty of member governments.

POPS More Children,More Choices Act “Congressional Democrats have been playing politics with their SCHIP re-authorization bill, using it as a vehicle to advance their long-standing agenda of socializing healthcare and creating a new middle-class entitlement. Congress needs to pass a reauthorization of SCHIP that maintains the original intent of the program by providing health insurance for the millions of uninsured, low-income children across the country, not middle-class adults. Our legislation is supported in both the House and the Senate, and gives Congress a viable alternative to reauthorize this important program quickly, without unnecessary government-run healthcare expansions.”

POPSSenate Lawbreakers to MoveOn.org - no more free speech for you THEY are outraged? And at whom are these "lawbreakers" outraged? They are beside themselves because the American people have the nerve, the gall, to think that the First Amendment applies to them! How dare the Great Unwashed say something, anything with which they do not agree! They were so outraged that nothing would do but to put MoveOn's rights to a vote to "rebuke" them, as though they were misbehaving children. At one time they were pretend-outraged that Gonzo lied to their faces, but oh well. No harm done. It's not like we really need the right of habeas corpus, and besides, Gonzo is "one of us." What has become of this country? Why do we elect these people for life? The day is not long coming when the DC elites will experience what the CIA has long called "blowback." Outraged, my a**. They haven't seen outrage yet.

POPSIt's Not a "Small Price" in Iraq Moveon reminds us of Boehner's remark, but the ad can't get into the attacks on John Kerry, the attacks on Max Cleland, the vote against giving troops rest-time yesterday and calling it "demeaning," votes against body armor, allowing Halliburton to provide our troops with tainted water that sickens them and the panoply of ways the GOP proves soldiers are merely a useful prop to be disregarded when inconvenient. Yet, this ad is a good step in the right direction of pointing out who really hates the troops.

POPSFire the Prosecutor I'm curious to know how they got convicted, actually. Perhaps a pardon, rather than just a commutation is in order? Not enough info in this piece.

POPSThe SPP, NAFTA & the North American Union. As the North American Union gets closer and closer to a reality, the media seems to be unconcerned...as many Americans do. Personally, I find it quite disturbing that our government officials are taking part in an unsigned (as the US claims) contract with Canada and Mexico.

POPSDoing The Alito Shuffle Once again,Maureen Dowd writes an excellent, yet sarcastic, editorial in the N.Y.Times.It will be interesting to see if Judge Alito can fill Sandra Day O'Conner's seat a manner that would be respectful to women's rights.
