POPSMillions Against Monsanto Campaign The clips here are titles of stories from the website Organic Consumers Association. Go to the site to read the individual stories. Monsanto seems to fit the strereotypical bad guy in conspiracies to take over world. They are trying to do it with genetically engineered food crops and seeds. They are playing hardball in getting farmers hooked into their contracts to buy and use only their products. Read some of the more outrageous tales of the 'little guy' being taken advantage of by the 'corporate giant'.

POPSIraqi War: Winners and Losers American and British corporations like Haliburton, KBR, AMEC, Aegis, Erinys, and others in Iraq have come out as the biggest winners. Iraqi civilians didn't have a chance. Not news but still the graphic is disturbing.

POPSGreed is the root cause of our collective problem in the meltdown We are seeing a meltdown essentially brought about by collective greed, ignorance and selfishness - no question. Perhaps now, as our savings and jobs evaporate we may better understand the plight of our planet, the young, the vulnerable, etc that we have tended to ignore for years.

POPSThe Crisis: Q & A by Walden Bello We’re seeing the intensification of one of the central crises or contradictions of global capitalism: the crisis of overproduction, also known as overaccumulation or overcapacity. In other words, capitalism has a tendency to build up tremendous productive capacity that outruns the population’s capacity to consume owing to social inequalities that limit popular purchasing power, thus eroding profitability.

POPSFox Moves On 'Wall St.' Sequel ~~~~~Allan Loeb to write 'Money Never Sleeps'~~~~~~ The logline is being kept under wraps, though it will feature the character of Gordon Gekko, the corporate raider character immortalized by Michael Douglas in the 1987 Oliver Stone film.

POPSRudd moves to stop executive greed The move will be popular with most people and the money people can't argue when it is their greed that caused this problem. When you foul up in "extreme sports", you usually suffer.

POPSA. I. Greed No wonder main street looks down their noses at Wall Street. No wonder the average, hardworking, taxpayer, playing by the rules, to make ends meet look with upon corporate CEO's with such disgust.

POPSThe Party's Over - Pat Buchanan A true conservative cherishes prudence and believes in fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and a self-reliant republic. He believes in saving for retirement and a rainy day, in deferred gratification, in not buying on credit what you cannot afford, in living within your means. Is that really what got Wall Street and us into this mess -- that we followed too religiously the gospel of Robert Taft and Russell Kirk? "Government must save us!" cries the left, as ever. Yet, who got us into this mess if not the government -- the Fed with its easy money, Bush with his profligate spending, and Congress and the SEC by liberating Wall Street and failing to step in and stop the drunken orgy? For years, we Americans have spent more than we earned. We save nothing. Credit card debt, consumer debt, auto debt, mortgage debt, corporate debt -- all are at record levels. And with pensions and savings being wiped out, much of that debt will never be repaid.

POPSMcCain Does what he does best when cornered: Plays Dumb It never seems to fail. Play dumb at the time of a question he really doesn't have any idea of an answer. The next day comes up with a different answer after a dozen or so of his hired lobbyist crew give their side of what they want to be said.

POPS$2.5 billion bonuses for bankrupt Lehman employees THis is obscene. Company that goes bankrupt should pay off debts to investors first before "bonuses". This is another indication of the greed that has taken over the investment and banking system. Contemplate what China does with their corrupt greedy executives.....

POPSEthically Bankrupt Virtually all the mistakes have been caused by errors in regulation — not by "corporate greed," as liberal Democrats would have it. Corporations follow the signals and guidelines set by Washington. When those are faulty, bad things happen and taxpayers pay. Remember this, too, when Congress cranks up hearings and vilifies one CEO after another for "looting" their companies. It was Congress that created the subprime crisis. Any promises that it makes to solve it should be viewed with serious skepticism. Dirksen would have been impressed. By our count, that's about $2 trillion, or 14%, of a $14 trillion economy. How did it happen? One case after another has been made for intervention in the private economy, based on the principle that some private-sector financial institutions, such as Bear Stearns and AIG, are "too big to fail." If they did fail, it would lead to a financial market catastrophe — or what the Fed on Wednesday referred to as "disorderly failure."

POPSFiorina: "Only" a $21 million severance package McCain chides corporations for golden parachutes; his chief campaign adviser is a perfect example - got $21M when she was fired from Hewlett Packard. If he's not going to distance himself from this practice in the campaign, why on earth would he do so as president?

POPSCOMCAST is Realy CONCAST Slowing the traffic on the internet and charging users by the minute, is their ultimate goal. Standing in the way of innovations and technological evolution, the corporate "milking" of existing standards. Greed.

POPSAMERICA'S IGNORANCE ON RACE Sad, but let us hope that those who still hold on to their xenophobia and complete unfounded fears of anyone who looks different from themselves. Will, at long last, get so fed up with the status quo of the almighty greed and corporate powerbrokers, who use any tool to hold on to their powers. Consequently, making them realize that they are just pawns to the GREED GODS This "awakening" will end the long reign of power by those who only care about themselves. I can only dream.thinkingblue PS: this (utter stupidity) was a comment on one of my blogs... obama bin biden this might be silly but if you put Obama and Biden you come up with the name of osama bin laden ... come on .. how close is that name.. this is not good news for US to have osama bin binden as the people in charge.. i dont think this is an accindent .. you know this kind of scares me alot to see that name... WHAT STUPID HORSESHIT!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM4NxHGb6iI (VIDEO)

POPSProfanity Immunity I'd LOVE to have immunity on CM but heck lemme address what I think is "kinky" about GOP "family values" instead of the dreaded F word. (and I meant fudge) I find it profane that they are busy wasting people's lives and treasure on a war for political and oil industry profit. I find it obscene they they have bankrupted the government to pay for tax breaks for the rich, corporate welfare and an insane cold war military style buildup. I find it dirty that they have ignored the Constitution. I find it immoral that they tell us what we really need are some "moral values" issues to shroud their wickedness in Godliness; to keep what they are really up to out of sight and out of mind and out of the news at all costs. I find poverty offensive. I find injustice, racism, sexism, and homophobia offensive. But most of all I find the greed of empire offensive. Oh, F U D G E . . .

POPSCEO's And Their Paychecks Disproportionate, outrageous, rip-off, shear greed, socking it to the people, billions lost to the "fair tax system" and Biden, Obama, McCain and the rest have no real answer, or do they? What a scam. When will people get really ticked off? What does it take?

POPSJustice For Sale. This is obviously true, and that being the case, I am drawn to the conclusion that the US of A is not a democracy, a free country or anything else but a front for corporations, "Justice for sale" means corruption and greed know no bounds. The clippers here were mostly appalled at the way Dick'n'George manipulated the judicial branch, but this...........

POPSWhat Should Uncle Sam Do? I like the sound of the phrase "socialized capitalism"..... Every time someone mentions that there should be more regulation of the greedy corporations, some ditto-head conservative yells "Socialism!". I gues they would rather have "Socialized Capitalism" in which the CEO's of these large corporations get to go home each year with millions of dallars in income, while the rest of us bail out their failed businesses.....nothing but greed and corruption!

POPSUN Biodiversity Convention issues Stark Warning Who is going to rein in the headless monster that is corporate greed? You guessed it- NOBODY. That is, no human entity that I know of.. Can we create a 'greater power' to counter the 'creature' we have already spawned that is eating the biosphere while we watch...?

POPSIs 44 million too much? corporate vs labor on compensation greed vs. value I have to wonder if salary increases for laborers would better promote long term corporate value?

POPSWhy textbooks suck A fascinating--and horrifying, if you care at all about education--look at how the books schools use to teach your kids get made. Corporate greed, pandering to special interest groups, lowest-common-denominator thinking: all your favorite characters on parade here, parents!

POPSBank of America Trojan Dropper An email I received today prompted me to create this page. I wanted to blog this information so that people could become aware of another yet malicious virus program circulating the Internet systems. Perhaps, this menace to our computing well-being should be an important issue for our presidential candidates to address. If it isn't today then I'm sure it will be in the future when threats to society will be of a high-tech, elusive nature which can be more lethal than the WMD intimidation, thrust upon us 7/24. If there is anything that can take our economic stability down faster than Corporate greed, it is the powerful control of our cyber-machines, by cyber-terrorists.

POPSWe Can't Handle The Truth "They don’t mention that we spend almost a trillion dollars a year on a protracted war in Iraq, money that we must borrow from China and Japan. We spend 51% of our discretionary budget on our military. No nation on the globe spends more than 6%. Maybe this could be a reason our economy is faltering?"

POPSApple iUnbrick? According to this post from Ars Technica (via Slashdot), the new 1.1.3 firmware has unbricked a couple of phones in testing. Personally I think the unresponsivness of Apple on the bricked iPhone issue is inexcusable. Alienating enthusiastic customers who help you sell your product is a really stupid move. Has Apple learned something from this experience? I doubt it, but only time will tell. Microsoft has done dumb things like this as well and they've learned some things, but ignore some other lessons. In the end, I think it really comes to corporate greed, and engineers thinking they know what customers want better than the customers themselves.

POPSBlue Collar Jobs Disappear And Ohio carried Bush; you go figure! I will never understand how people who suffer the most thought they would benefit from the Bush administration. Regardless, it is all about corporations obligations to the workers to share some of the wealth with them, and to give back to the community that buys their products instead of profit greed and inflated CEO salaries. Don't tell me it can't be done without a sacrifice to the consumer in the cost the product because there are many examples, Costo being one of them.
