Whatever it takes to win!
dellarae
by dellarae  11-2-2008
Democrats are gearing up for whatever happens on Election Day. Should Obama win, champagne will flow, McCain will make a concession speech, and all will be well with the world. But should Obama lose, McCain will pop the cork, and Lawsuits will fly into courthouses across the land.

Incredible cold and snow in Greece
pkronfield
by pkronfield  2-19-2008
I rarely snows in Athens. To snow in semi-tropical Crete is unheard of. And yesterday Crete and the other Cyclades islands were snowed in! Another example of the absurdity of global warming claims by liberals. What is actually happening is global cooling.

Congress' Disappointing 'New Direction'
merrie
by merrie  10-29-2007    1
“Our job is to take America in a new direction, and we are working hard to do that,” a spokesman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Of the 106 bills signed by President Bush into law this year, nearly half (46) name post offices, courthouses or roads. Another 44 bills were equally non-controversial measures, such as reconstruction of the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis. Of the remainder, 14 bills merely extended existing laws. So much for “a new direction.” As last week’s Democratic debacle over the State Children’s Health Insurance Program revealed, even moderate Republicans who have supported “new direction” initiatives from the Democrats are losing their patience. “I used to think they cared about the policy. Now I think they care more about the politics,” moderate Rep. Ray LaHood (R-Ill.) told the Washington Post.

Arguments against same-sex marriage, part 2
enbar
by enbar  12-11-2006
An editorial by the president of the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy, recounting opinions by a number of legal scholars on the potential implications of legalized same-sex marriage for religious liberty. Again, I don't agree, but this is generally an intelligent and balanced assessment.
