They can't say this will mean global warming will lead to more of these extreme weather events in the future, but from their computer models, they know the weather will always be an unpredictable beast. Lucky we have all that ice in the ice caps to cool the seas down.

15,000 Feared Dead in Bangladesh Cyclone
blueridge
by blueridge  11-18-2007    2
A cyclone in 1970 killed 500,000! Cannot even fathom that number of people being killed in one day, like taking out a major U.S. city. This makes New Orleans look like nothing.

Climate Change
yamdablam

Yes, big countries can change their climate and that of other areas on the earth. Imagine using this to convince people that the earths weather is unpredictable? Don't believe the lies!!

Arctic sea ice cover at record low
jetcloud
by jetcloud  9-13-2007
" Most researchers had anticipated that the complete disappearance of the Arctic ice pack during summer months would happen after the year 2070, he said, but now, "losing summer sea ice cover by 2030 is not unreasonable." Scores of peer-reviewed scientific studies have documented a steady, worldwide decline in ice cover, from the sea-bound ice covering the North Pole to the vast, land-based ice sheets that cover the Antarctic continent. Glaciers, from Greenland to the Alps to Mount Kilimanjaro near the equator, also have been vanishing."

United Nations Weather Control Treaty: The Climate Change Smoking Gun
yamdablam
by yamdablam  7-11-2007    1
I've told a number of people that the technology to change our weather has existed for a long long time. Their reaction is often one of disbelief. But then I show them the page I created this clip from and their opinion rapidly changes. This is simply proof that environmental modification techniques exist that can change our climate. Now, suppose you wanted to impose a global change in behavior, you could do this by changing the one thing all peoples of this earth have in common: weather. You'd stage massive PR stunts in the form of articles being published in all major newspapers throughout the world. Stage popular culture concerts, produce films, get celebrities on board to hammer home the message, place adverts on tv, get multinational corporations to have a greener slant on their products, lobby governments via NGO's such as greenpeace, ensure green political parties are elected into office...the list is endless This has all been planned along time ago.
