POPSThis Mob Is Big in Japan Most Americans think of Japan as a law-abiding and peaceful place, as well as our staunch ally, but reporting on the underworld gave me a different perspective.

POPSFlax Seeds and Oils Healthly Fats I am being very cautious with what goes down my system at the moment. So I've decided to revert to my old healthy diets. I did not realize there could be any issue with flax seed oil, but I've also used the flax seeds raw before so if there is less risk and more raw nutrients, naturally this makes sense, then perhaps I stick to grinding them myself.

POPSRepublicans Hit Poll Bottom, again The withering slide in support for Republicans continues, now down to 19-20% in this latest poll. (Only our corrosive and toxic media might make it seem otherwise). The party deserves to be driven into extinction, due to misleading nations into a false war based on deliberate lies, endorsing the use of torture, violating civil and Constitutional rights, and for being nothing more than a Smear Machine trying to win votes based on fear and hate. The new president (despite the ceaseless rabble and rabid critics) continues to also live up to his campaign promises and has set the nation back on the right track in many important ways. The "Dark Side," is losing; as it should. GOP elephants going extinct. 80% of the nation turned off to their drivel.

POPSMarching to world domination: Why the West should be worried about China Personally, I feel China with its ever growing power over the west (financially) will do what ever other powerful nation will do - want to dominate! As we fall apart (deliberate) and the dollar drops out of the picture they will have a clear shot at this posturing.. Russian will be right along with them.. Point being we are fading and fading fast - everyone knows it but us!!

POPSMichael Moore Quotes But we spend eight to ten to twelve hours of our daily lives at work, where we have no say. I think when anthropologists dig us up 400 years from now--if we make it that far--they're going to say, "Look at these people back then. They thought they were free. They called themselves a democracy, but they spent ten hours of every day in a totalitarian situation and they allowed the richest 1 percent to have more financial wealth than the bottom 95 percent combined."

POPSObama and the Right: Shadow Projection
Racism makes Obama the Other, but shadow projection is an even more powerful (if interrelated) force than simple racism, and it is very susceptible to the mob mentality – think Goldberg in Orwell’s 1984. This will not end well. Now that Obama is carrying their shadow, only a dramatic event from outside could change it. (Or, they could gain awareness of their disowned dark side, and tolerating the inevitable pain of that experience, integrate into a healthy whole. This would require white, middle-class, middle-aged Americans - the primary protesters - to acknowledge that white middle class Americans are not all goodness and light and start taking responsibility for white privilege, their environmental choices, effects of class on economic status, etc. Don’t hold your breath.) The more those on the right deny their own failings, the more their internal unease will increase, the more the hatred to Obama will grow, and the more the need to do something will increase. No wonder the far r

POPSBarefoot Ted reviews the new Vibram FiveFingers Trek Planning to get myself a pair. More: Suggested retail in the US is $125 for the KSO Trek. Premium Kangaroo hide is not cheap. The shoes can be machine washed (be careful here as the leather can bleed, so wash alone or with dark colors on a gentle cycle). The shoes should be air dried out of direct sun and away from a heat source (strong sun or drying near a heater source could cause the leather to shrink and pull away from the bottom, causing sole separation or de-lamination).

POPSFood of the Week: Cabbage A few quick serving ideas: Cabbage leaves are a great way to inspire leftovers. Spoon some leftovers such as rice salad or a vegetable mixture onto the center of a cabbage leaf and roll into a neat little package. Bake in medium heat oven until hot. Enjoy your easy and healthy version of stuffed cabbage, a traditional eastern European dish. Braise red cabbage with a chopped apple and red wine. This is a child-friendly dish, since the alcohol (but not the flavor or the flavonoids) will evaporate. Combine shredded red and white cabbage with fresh lemon juice, olive oil, and seasonings such as turmeric, cumin, coriander and black pepper to make coleslaw with an Indian twist. Sauté cabbage and onions and serve over cooked buckwheat for a hardy side dish. Use shredded raw cabbage as a garnish for sandwiches.

POPSWorld War II's first victim more (at source): And on Tuesday, when German Chancellor Angela Merkel meets the prime ministers of Russia and Poland in Gdansk (formerly Danzig) to commemorate the day 70 years ago when Hitler's tanks rolled across Poland's borders, little thought will be given to the place where it started – or the man who died there. However, on Monday, in the manicured grounds of the radio station on the edge of the industrial city of Gliwice, which is now within Poland's borders, there will be a low-key commemoration and, for the first time, German and Polish historians will gather to discuss what took place. The radio station, still dominated by the 111-ft high transmitting mast, was reopened as a museum in 2005. This week, its director, Andrzej Jarczewski, said: "Many people will have never known what took place here to start the entire war. It is not a moment easily remembered for many reasons.

POPSOnion Study: 74% Of Children Tenting Out In Yard Don't Make It Through The Night More: "Children should know, however, that if they hear scratching on the side of their tent, it's probably just their older brother trying to scare them," Fredericks said. "And if the scratching suddenly stops, it's most likely because their parents have gone insane and crept up from behind with this really demonic look in their eyes and slit his throat." As dire as these findings may appear, Fredericks claimed there was one way for children camping outdoors to escape their fate. "If they are able to avoid being bitten by poisonous spiders crawling around inside their sleeping bag, can keep all their fingers and toes crossed long enough to ward off Sister Mary, and manage to run back home without the inbred family of cannibal people seeing them first, they may actually stand a chance," said Fredericks, an eerie smile forming on his lips…
