POPSFallen on Deaf Ears - Another Impeachment Petition I came across this today while doing some research. I did a quick check to see if my name was on it. Nope, this is yet another petition, or written request for help, that has fallen upon deaf ears. What a shame. I wonder, all sum total, how many Americans were ignored in our numerous petitions and requests for impeachment? What's the grand total of signatures? Is there a way to find out...as, these documents were sent to Congress. Shouldn't we be able to know how many requests went unanswered? This particular petition was signed by 4, 491 American Citizens. Do they mean nothing?

POPSRevivalist stirring controversy
The bible clearly states that when Jesus walked the earth he healed many of "every affliction". The early disciples have recorded in the bible of people who where healed and raised from the dead. Therefore it is or at least was a ministry preformed by both Jesus and his early disciples. The main focus of Jesus' ministry as well as the early disciples was the 'preaching of the kingdom of God' and not the ministry of healing. Healing came as a result of seeking Jesus or the kingdom of God. Like this article states Jesus did warn of many false prophets who would arise preforming miracles in attempts to mislead and deceive. It was interesting to read in this article that of all the people who were reportedly healed at this 'revival' Mr Bentley only produced a list of 15 people who could verify such healing. And yet thousands have attended the revival. Personally I believe God can heal anyone if He chooses to but the bible says 'Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousne

POPSYOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK The wisdom of this story: * Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic. They take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart! * Always think of the power words have. Everything you hear and read will affect your actions! * BE POSITIVE! And above all, be DEAF when people tell you that you cannot fulfill your dreams! Always think: I can do this!

POPSNanotech regulation under the spotlight The report concerns regulations in Australia, but nanotechnology that may have benefits that can cause problems or 'side effects' to be either overlooked, or ignored. It's easy to overlook a problem if there is no test for it, and often we may not know what to test for. Then there are both short term and long term effects. It's easy to ignore the possible long term effects, if some of the criteria examined are cost effectiveness and profitability, Perhaps a case of too many bells and whistles, making researchers deaf. For some reason i was just reminded of Pierre and Marie Curie.

POPSWomen With the horror of the recent "honor" killing in Georgia as the backdrop, I'm inspired to remind everyone that women die at the hands of male family members every day in the US. In fact, 4 times a day. I'm tired of the Right acting like they really care about women and gender equality. The only mention of women in the 2004 Republican platform is their insistence that if a woman gets pregnant, by law she'll stay that way until delivery. I went to a number of right wing websites and typed the words "violence against women" into their search engines. If any stories were listed at all, they were about honor killings in the Muslim world. The Right wrap their "concern" for women in the cloak of anti-Islamic rhetoric concerning honor killings and are dumb, deaf, and blind to all else. Enough. Islam is not the problem. Patriarchy is.

POPSDisabled models show my cynical side tells me these type of shows (like the fat losing weight etc) are just another way for programs to milk the "beauty and/or the beast" paradigm for making TV emotional. So sad really that it is being so "tastefully" done to bypass peoples idea of ridicule.

POPSGitmo I applaud the Supreme Courts' ruling but where is CNN US, or any other cable {US] channel with this story. The answer is 'nowhere'. Only the international channels and BBC are leading with this. I have just finished watching a whole hour of CNN with not a thing said about the ruling. What goes on over in the 'States'??

POPSHow a boy born with no ears can hear again - and beat the bullies His ears clip on to metal attachments on the side of his head. Joshua takes them on and off as simply as someone putting on glasses. "I wouldn't say I was delighted with them, I am completely gobsmacked," he said. "I can't believe how good they are." His mother added: "He has been full of himself since then. All the staring has stopped. I could never imagine the ears could be so good."

POPSIt's Barack, Like It Or Not
If the candidate were the screaming Howard Dean, the superdelegates could dump him with much greater ease. But with Obama, the race issue necessarily comes into play. It's hard to imagine a scenario now in which Obama doesn't capture the nomination, even if he continues to tank. If Hillary's resurgence continues, she'll have strong arguments in favor of her nomination, but they'll have to fall on deaf ears. If the pooh-bahs decide to throw Obama overboard after he has come so close to capturing the nomination, it is inconceivable to me that a large number of African-Americans -- not to mention the far left of the party -- won't believe he was robbed, in no small part because of his race. The nation can ill afford to endure such racial bitterness, but the Democratic Party may not survive with it. We all know the party depends on a statistically monolithic constituency in the African-American community, without which it couldn't even be competitive in national elections.

POPSA GREAT SIGHT This article and picture caught my attention. It is amazing when you think about what it would be like to be both deaf and blind, and yet have all other faculties, including a sharp and inquiring mind. Guess I should read the book or get the movie http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Miracle_Worker/60004246?mqso=80012394
