POPSAP Calls BS on McCain Ad The story, from Associated Press, goes on to give McCain's defense of the ad: In support of its ad, the McCain campaign cites the nonpartisan Web site Factcheck.org, which has been critical at times of McCain's spots, contending they contain false or misleading information. For example, the site says McCain's charge that Obama would raise taxes on small businesses is false, contending that the vast majority of small-business owners would see no change and that many others would see their taxes fall. Annenberg Fact Check hasn't reviewed this ad yet, so citing them as backing it up is more BS. The McCain campaign is lying when they says someone else is saying they aren't lying... Makes your freakin' head spin, doesn't it?

POPSScalia’s Claim That Released Gitmo Prisoners Have Killed Americans Is An ‘Urban Legend’ All you have to do in America is tell people a lie, let it sink in and then apologize later. So many people will continue to believe and spread the lie that the damage has already been done and no amount of apologizing will undo it. This is why many still believe Saddam had anything to do with 9/11, why so many middle-Americans still believe Obama is a Muslim; the list could go on and on. This particular lie serves the purpose of adding weight to the habeas corpus arguments raging in congress (did I say arguments, I meant lip service). The more people that believe the lie, the easier it is to steamroll over the constitution. As a bright young man named Chuck D once said "Don't believe the hype!"

POPSCheney: OK, so they're not drilling by Cuba International Champion of American Credibility Dick Cheney insists in speech to Chamber of Commerce that Chinese are drilling for oil 60 miles off the coast of FL. The media then eats his lunch. Now: OK, well, sure, no one at all is drilling there. But they might. If anybody finds oil there. Someday. Trust me. Republican Sen. Mel Martinez takes the Senate floor to denounce the comment.

POPSTrying To Debunk The Internet Rumors Further, the schedule shows Michelle Obama as a "Special Guest," not a speaker. Last, if it wasn't at the church, why would the DVD have been on sale there? I remain highly skeptical that this story will amount to anything. 2d UPDATE: More on problems with this story: Does it seem at all plausible that anyone would go into a 30-plus minute racist rant during a "Woman's Luncheon" at the Sheraton Hotel, moderated by two mainstream local TV news reporters/anchors from the Chicago ABC affiliate? Consider also that Michelle Obama was listed only as a "Special Guest," not even listed as speaking (the Keynote Speaker for the luncheon was Jesse Jackson). And then somehow this supposed rant at a non-church event held at the Sheraton Hotel was for sale on the Trinity United website. Thus, I think that the most common version of the story (put forth by Hillbuzz) is almost certainly false.

POPSQuestions Requiring Anwers of Evolutionists Thoughtful scientists ponder questions such as these and arrive at their hypotheses and then experiment to prove or disprove those hypotheses. Therefore I am calling on all evolutionists to ponder these points of fact and offer us some answers. Care to tackle this experiment?

POPSGlobal Warming Swindle Debate Pt2 - Astonishing As I suspected, the data presented in "The Global Warming Swindle" is of dubious reliability. The data presented is incomplete. Incorrect inferences are drawn form the data presented. For example, the correlation between sunspot activity and earth temperature.

POPSThe Collapse of "Irreducible Complexity" Against such a backdrop, the struggles of the intelligent design movement are best understood as clamorous and disappointing double failures – rejected by science because they do not fit the facts, and having failed religion because they think too little of God. As an icon of anti-evolution, the flagellum has fallen. This is not news. Irreducible complexity as an argument for íntelligent design has been debunked for quite some time, but some fanatical anti-evolutionists are apparently still desperate for this to be "proof" of the existance of God. It isn't. The article will explain why.

POPSReply from An Atheist-Theologian Excellent article addressing the Christian apologists who would try and claim that people not versed in Theology "don't get" what is "really" being said. Rubbish says Mark Barratt, who himself has a degree in this very area. The New Atheists are bang on..:) Rest of Article here: http://richarddawkins.net/article,1816,Are-the-New-Atheists-avoiding-the-real-arguments,Edmund-Standing-ButterfliesAndWheelscom

POPSMan caused "global warming" debunked Al Gore, the Jim Jones of this new religious cult, preaches doom and gloom from his pettifogger pulpit, all the while living the lifestyle of an energy hog. He actually uses twice the amount of electricity in one month at his Nashville home than the average household uses in an entire year. He has two homes in Tennessee, one in Virginia, at least. He flies all over the world on his Magical Hysteria Tour, sucking down resources and belching out tons of carbon, all to tell us we need to conserve. We're trying to make ends meet just to afford gas in our cars while Al Gore has a carbon footprint the size of Sasquatch. And no one seems to care.

POPSThe truth is stranger than the half truth. When I first saw zeitgeist Part 1 undermined what I had come to learn about part 2 and 3. It plays upon people's ignorance. The old proverb is true, the first to plead his case seems right, until another comes and examines him. Eat the fruit and spit out the seeds.

POPSMore inside... ...from the man known as Mr. Money (Greenspan) reminds us that the tax hikes in the 80's have guarenteed Soc. Sec. will remain solvent... why the hell ya think they did it in the first place. Soc. Sec. is not going to send us reeling into the abyss, this illegal war will! It has caused congress to raise our debt to a staggering 9.8 trillion! If the Neo's and the far left libs would keep their hands off the Soc. Sec. money, in other words stop stealing from its very own people to pay the interest on this massive borrowing spree, the hard earned taking care of the boomer's will be taken care of by their generation, just like it was meant to be. This farce is out of hand and our representitives need to be buried under a mountain of outrage. Enough lies! Enough disrespect! Enough stealing from us!

POPSSliming Graeme Frost
MORE: "In fact, however, Republicans had already made their first move: an e-mail message from the office of Mitch McConnell, the Senate minority leader, sent to reporters and obtained by the Web site Think Progress, repeated the smears against the Frosts and asked: “Could the Dems really have done that bad of a job vetting this family?” And the attempt to spin the media worked, to some extent: despite reporting that has thoroughly debunked the smears, a CNN report yesterday suggested that the Democrats had made “a tactical error in holding up Graeme as their poster child,” and closely echoed the language of the e-mail from Mr. McConnell’s office. All in all, the Graeme Frost case is a perfect illustration of the modern right-wing political machine at work, and in particular its routine reliance on character assassination in place of honest debate. If service members oppose a Republican war, they’re “phony soldiers”; if Michael J. Fox opposes Bush policy on stem cells, he’s faki

POPS9/11 Truther Quits Popular Mechanics also debunked the Truthers claims...it's nice to see there are people out there who still think for themselves and can distinguish right from wrong, fact from fiction and propaganda from truth.

POPSThe Year Global Warming Alarmism Died
From Article: - “Anthropogenic (man-made) global warming bites the dust,” declared astronomer Dr. Ian Wilson after reviewing a new study that has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Geophysical Research authored by a Brookhaven National Lab scientist Stephen Schwartz. A former Harvard physicist, Dr. Lubos Motl, said the new study has reduced global warming fear-mongers to “playing the children’s game to scare each other.” -Prior to and during 2007, one research study after another revealed that the central premise of “global warming” lacks any scientific merit. One by Dr. Tim Patterson concluded that, “The earth temperature does respond to the solar cycle as confirmed by numerous studies.” The solar cycle is known to be about eleven years in length and reflects increased or decreased sunspot (magnetic storms) activity. It is the Sun that largely determines the Earth’s temperature, which is never the same throughout the planet, given seasonal and solar changes.
