POPSOops... Destroyed the Wrong Evidence! I love this one! It made me laugh :) mostly because I think these dolls are menace to the minds of young, impressionable girls... but then again, I was a huge Barbie fan and "those" before me thought the same about her! ANYWAY, I clipped this because I loved the judges comment / question... destroying the very evidence that could have helped your case in court (when you were trying to hide your porn)... priceless!

POPSThe Purple People of Phoenicia "The fast, non-fading dye was an item of luxury trade. It is believed that the intensity of the purple hue improved, rather than faded, as the dyed cloth aged." "Archaeological data from Tyre indicate that the snails were collected in large vats and left to decompose. This produced a hideous stench that was actually mentioned by ancient authors. Not much is known about the subsequent steps, and the actual ancient method for mass-producing the two murex dyes has not yet been successfully reconstructed; this special "blackish clotted blood" colour, which was prized above all others, is believed to be achieved by double-dipping the cloth, once in the indigo dye of H. trunculus and once in the purple-red dye of M. brandaris." The Phoenician dolls are unrelated to Tyrian purple, I thought it was an interesting addition to the clip.

POPSPixels Go Mad - The Celebration Of Pixel Art Pixel art lives both in and beyond computer screen. Artists design pixel art posters, magazine covers, album covers, desktop wallpapers, paintings, “pixelish” video ads and even pixelated tattoos. And there is a good reason behind it: in times when popular design solutions strive for real-life-look or perfection pixel art offers a distinctive and creative artistic approach which is extremely expressive. In fact, pixel art can be impressive as well. This post attempts to prove just that.

POPSMale monkeys prefer boys' toys To try and tease out the effects of nature over those of nurture, Wallen and his colleagues studied a group of captive rhesus monkeys. His team reasoned that the choices of the monkeys wouldn't be determined by social pressures. Video on source.

POPSNKOTB Are Back!!! I used to have dolls, sheets, blankets, towels, tapes, stickers, books...you name it, when New Kids were out I was obsessed with them. I was about four to eight years old at the time. I am super excited about this. Next I'd love to see N'Sync back together. I used to LOVE JC and Justin. My favorite boy band guy though - AJ McLean.

POPSBBC UK: 5,000 Children Groomed for Prostitution "It happened every night. There were loads of men involved." Her voice cracks. "You couldn't keep count." It was like a conveyor belt, she recalls. A conveyor belt of men all expecting sex. She was only 14. Jane clearly remembers the sheer, terrifying numbers of men who would be brought to her bed at night. Jane has, to a certain extent, repaired her life - she has a job and her relationship with her parents remains strong. The long-term damage, however, is profound, and she suffers nightmares, flashbacks and depression. As she puts it: "I was just this innocent little girl who went from playing with her dolls to having sex with lots of different men." And unpalatable though it may be to confront, there are, even now, many other innocent little girls at risk of being forced into the same sickening transition.

POPSA Fresh Look At Catholicism Some good news from the article and one reason I am a Catholic: "In one session, religious scholar Angel Galindo Garcia discussed the role of the church in an era of globalization. He referenced George Orwell's Big Brother and critiqued growing inequality between rich and poor nations. However, I had to laugh out loud at this quote: "Can one be a homosexual without ever having sexual relations with a person of the same sex?" she asked the crowd rhetorically and then answered: "Yes, of course." Save your questions for later kiddies! OMG, do you know how CRAZY I drove my nuns in catethism class with questions? I was almost held hostage by my fellow classmates once for questioning the dogma of purgatory as a place rather than a state of being. The teacher LOVED me though. It's the first time I saw him come alive in that class.

POPSRare Helen Keller Photo With two of her five senses gone Helen shows that personality and its strength still remains. I wonder how the materialist philosophers can explain this?

POPSA GREAT SIGHT This article and picture caught my attention. It is amazing when you think about what it would be like to be both deaf and blind, and yet have all other faculties, including a sharp and inquiring mind. Guess I should read the book or get the movie http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Miracle_Worker/60004246?mqso=80012394
