Spoons

instead of making an extra trip to get it right now." I was impressed. I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the waiter’s zip on his trousers. Looking around, I noticed that all the waiters had the same string hanging from their flies. So before he walked off, I asked the waiter, "Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right there?" "Oh, certainly!" Then he lowered his voice. "Not everyone is so observant. That consulting firm I mentioned also found out that we can save time in the rest-room. By tying this string to the tip of you know what, we can pull it out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening the time spent in the rest-room by 76.39 per cent." I asked "After you get it out, how do you put it back?" "Well," he whispered, "I don’t know about the others, but I use the spoon."

Gamer Kid Parents = Epic Fail

The Dark Knight May Be Struck Down By Tropic Thunder After All
merrie
by merrie  8-16-2008
It couldn't last forever. Eventually someone had to knock The Dark Knight off of the box office throne. Last weekend Pineapple Express took a crack at it (well more of a pot shot really (I know, I know, bad pun) but couldn't muster quite the cash. Now as Batman heads into his fifth weekend, attendance may have finally dwindled enough for someone to topple him.

The Dog's Diary vs The Cat's Diary
swampfoxz
by swampfoxz  8-16-2008    1
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Fear Of Change
debbyski
by debbyski  8-11-2008    2
"First, the Democrats have to win the election — and win it by enough to face down Republicans, who are still, 42 years after Medicare went into operation, denouncing “socialized medicine.” Second, they have to overcome the public’s fear of change. " "One more thing: if we do get real health care reform, a lot of people will owe a debt of gratitude to none other than John Edwards. When Mr. Edwards dropped out of the presidential race, I credited him with making universal health care a “possible dream for the next administration.” Mr. Edwards’s political career is over — but perhaps he and his family can take some solace from the fact that his party is still trying to make that dream come true."

Dollar Rises, Oil Prices Fall
blueridge
by blueridge  8-9-2008
Again, oil drop had nothing to do with supply. Demand has fallen and the dollar per this article (vs. Euro) has gained. A weak dollar has been a critical component of high gas prices. In fact, oil has dropped even though a hurricane threatened the gulf lately too. Oil has fallen, yet we have not seen a corresponding and equitable fall in gas prices (should be around 3.29 at this oil price).

This whole situation couldn't have been handled any more poorly. 2 four legged family members dead over some marijuana and an undercover officer dropped it off!!! This kinda crap happens all the time though, it just happened to be to a mayor this time. Just legalize marijuana, stop killing and jailing over it and work on REALLY taking care of your community!

Protesters shot themselves in the foot this time. I am an animal nut, I love them. However, this action does not help their cause, it alienates them from the general public ever getting behind them. They may have just dropped the entire movement back 30 years. Even PETA knows better than to do this. For the backlash protest, visit my clips!

Obama’s Speech: Consider These Goalposts Moved!
merrie
by merrie  8-6-2008    1
For the men and women of Reverend Wright’s generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years. But the anger is real; it is powerful; and to simply wish it away, to condemn it without understanding its roots, only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races. Really? How about understanding its roots but not condemning it? That’s what Obama did for 20 years, implicitly lending himself to the cause of racial division — he finally admits early in the speech that he heard “remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church,” although these appear to be of a lesser grade somehow than the stuff that’s been airing on Fox — and only now with the presidency at stake has he awakened to the perniciousness of silence.
