Water-fuel car unveiled in Japan
WomanInTheMoon11
by WomanInTheMoon11  7-18-2008
Japanese company Genepax presents its eco-friendly car that runs on nothing but water. The car has an energy generator that extracts hydrogen from water that is poured into the car's tank. The generator then releases electrons that produce electric power to run the car. Genepax, the company that invented the technology, aims to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers to mass produce it.

ECO Housing.. We, the People have the alternatives
klippety
by klippety  7-17-2008
So we should get rid of all those, that stand in the way of building a better future. By electing those with the ideas that promote, explore and use the alternatives already at hand and support investments into the alternative energy and home land protection as we need it. We need to protect our home land and preserve a balance in all. Harmony is the goal on all levels of life. Balance and harmony. All else will follow.

BROWN'S GAS
franstuff
by franstuff  6-30-2008
This is what we need to take care of our current gas crisis! It can easily double the mileage of any car -- problem is it's illegal to mess with the emission control systems, even if it improves emissions and mileage. I wonder why? Hmmmm can you say oil company?

Iceland Is Whaling Again

Please write to Iceland’s fisheries minister and tell him to end Iceland's whale hunt By contrast, Iceland’s fisheries minister, Einar Kristinn Guðfinnsson, is choosing to ignore the consequences of the hunt and allowing this unnecessary slaughter to proceed when he could be promoting whale watching, a lucrative alternative, instead.

Water-Fuel Car -- Too Good To Be True?
rj3sp
by rj3sp  6-19-2008
Japanese company, Genepax has claimed that it has created a new eco-friendly car that can run on nothing but water. The company did not disclose much but they use some process to produce hydrogen from water, used as fuel for a hydrogen fuel cell to run the car. This idea, however might be "too good to be true".

Our Trash Circles the Globe: Combating E-Waste in India
urbanlife
by urbanlife  6-18-2008
The fruits of our high-tech revolution are pure poison if these products are improperly disposed of at the end of their useful life. The electronics industry is on the brink of a paradigm shift with respect to cost avoidance v/s risk avoidance. Firms such as Eco-Reco are taking advantage of a booming but hazardous industry, where e-waste is usually dismantled by workers with little protection in recycling plants that have even fewer safety and environmental contamination guidelines. In Mumbai, Eco-Reco will pick up your e-waste and at their plant, the e-waste then goes through a shredder on a conveyor belt, and the components are separated by a metal extractor. Workers then break up the plastic from the metal by hand. The entire system is based on the principles of clean environment and zero landfill.
