Democrats civil war against obama begins
pkronfield
by pkronfield  9-14-2011
What they don't understand is their whole ideology is corrupt and false. They can incite and revolt against obama, but what can they offer in its stead? The one who called a valiant and patriotic general "Petraeus Betray Us" ?? Democrats are consigned to the ash heap of history.

The Dark at the End of the Tunnel
merrie
by merrie  7-25-2010    1
But what Obama really ought to fear is losing his own party — because Webb’s column is just the most recent sign. On the Bush tax cuts, due to expire in January, Obama is already seeing defections. Three Democratic Senators — Kent Conrad (ND), Ben Nelson (NE), Evan Bayh (IN) — are calling on Congress to extend current rates, even for “the rich.” Raising rates is maybe the centerpiece of Obamanomics. Without “the rich” to bash on, squeeze, hammer, and otherwise alternately abuse and neglect, the rest of Obama’s economics don’t make any sense. Even then they still don’t make much sense, but still, Obama’s theories need to rest on something. And the belief in the general unfairness of every- and anything that hasn’t been redistributed through DC is his foundation. Don’t get me wrong — barring some miracle, current tax cuts are not going to be extended. Period. But the thing is, Conrad, Nelson and Bayh already know that.

Three Cheers for Barack Obama
kareval
by kareval  5-23-2010    5
The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. In one year Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the house, if not the senate back to the Republicans.. He has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Every Generation seems to need to relearn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. He is bringing home the lesson very well! Liberals tax, borrow and spend - check Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America - check Liberals want to take over the economy - check Liberals think they know what is best for everyone - check Liberals aren't happy till they are running YOUR life - check He has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year he rejuvenated the Conservative movement and brought out to the streets millions of Freedom-Loving Americans. Name me one other time in your life that you saw your friends and neighb

Health Care Summit Fact Check: Will Premiums Go Up?
merrie
by merrie  3-7-2010    1
Why are premiums going up? CBO cites the combination of three factors: 1. Premiums would be 27-30% higher because coverage would be better. The law, for example, requires that all policies cover maternity care, prescription drugs, mental health & substance abuse and no denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions. 2. Premiums would be 7 to 10 percent lower b/c of changes to the way the individual market is structured. 3. Premiums would be 7 to 10 percent lower b/c of an influx of more people, many of them healthy, into the insurance market. The net effect of those three factors: Premiums would be 10 to 13 percent higher for the average policyholders. President Obama’s claim of premium reductions of “14 to 20 percent” comes from adding factors two and three. The problem: You can’t ignore factor one. That’s why CBO’s conclusion is that, on average, people in the individual market would see their premiums go up 10 to 13 percent.

Sarah Palin: Fact-Checking the ObamaCare Summit
merrie
by merrie  2-26-2010
“Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but not his own facts.” From her facebook account: We should be thankful for yesterday’s 7-hour health care summit " it was helpful in that it allowed Americans to hear the fundamental differences in approaches to meeting health care challenges. On one side, commonsense conservatives laid out fiscally-sound, free market-based, patient-centered solutions; and on the left’s side we heard about the Democrat’s belief that growing government is the only way to meet challenges. Senator Insults Congress: Quits
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  2-15-2010
"I do not love Congress," the U.S. 2nd term Senator said, and announced he's not running for reelection. D'uh! Just 8 percent of Americans want the members of Congress re-elected, according to latest CBS/NYT poll. Only 15% approve of Congress. (Link to poll, below). So when we see stats that 50% approve of President Obama and the rabid right wants us to think that's bad....in COMPARISSON it's almost 400% better than Congress. In COMPARISSON, it's also better than Bush. It's bad. There are SYSTEMIC problems: corporations, war profiteers and money dominating the agenda, election campaigning even a year before elections (too long); limited choices between mainly status quo candidates; winner take all rather than proportional representation (like the rest of the world's more real democracies), etc. But the bastards in charge ain't about to make any changes. Tough stuff http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-02-12/few-americans-want-members-of-congress-re-elected
