Due to a Bush Executive Order (which Obama did not rescind) just one man, the President (not even Congress, or the States), has the authority to declare National Emergency and Martial Law for either economic or health "crisis" reasons . The Constitutional implications of this preparation have not been debated or discussed, particularly about State's rights. Each state has their own controlled "National Guard", and could decide for themselves, instead of a Federal power-grab over this very controversial issue. However the Federal government believes the MEHPA (Model Emergency Health Powers Act) trumps the 10th amendment. But does it? Not according to the Constitution.

If, as other experts claim, Predator drones are a nice, clean way to kill the enemy, how is it that he says bin Ladin's son was in the "wrong place at the wrong time." His supposed killing (85% sure?-what's that mean?) sounds like an accident. He just happened to be where the rockets hit? So could have a few dozen innocent citizens - right? If this was supposed to raise American support for rocket guided assassination - which is still a violation of Presidential Executive Orders that our President has not withdrawn or complied with - then it missed its mark with me.

POPSUS Air Force on Drones: Dumb and Dumber Outdone! I think they hope that bombing without a direct threat to Air Force Service members will be more acceptable. Surprise! People in US do not like killing innocent civilians, assassinating others in violation of US Presidential Executive Orders, or being dumb about creating even more terrorists who will strike at us and our friends. We'd rather people have to think, twice, three times and over before killing as if they were playing a video game.

POPSPredator Drones Killing US Chances for Peace The Predator drones seem to be a "cool" way to kill and assassinate US enemies without risking US soldiers. It actually kills more innocents than though, creates new enemies, may well violate Presidential Executive Orders against assassination, and in the end may put more US soldiers at risk.

POPSIran seeks to buy banned carbon fiber
The two diplomats from International Atomic Energy Agency member nations said their intelligence agencies had reported suspicions that Iran wanted carbon fiber at least partly for its nuclear program. They spoke on condition of anonymity because their information was confidential. One of the diplomats told the AP that since early 2009, Iran Khodro has been taking steps for "a massive-scale procurement of carbon fiber." Iran Khodro head Manouchehr Manteqi, acting on orders of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, has "instructed a limited number of senior company executives to make the procurement as soon as possible," the diplomat said. The second diplomat told the AP that his country's intelligence services also believed Iran Khodro officials were preparing to make orders for carbon fiber. Manteqi vehemently denied that. "Reports that we are after carbon fiber are wrong," he told reporters in Tehran Wednesday, responding to a question from the AP.

Wild as this sounds Obama declaring Martial Law (using Bush's Executive Orders which he did not rescind) is a possibility. If gas prices go back to $5 per gallon (as some are saying by summer) this would provoke an outrage by Americans who would hold the federal government, banks, Wall Street, and oil companies responsible for all of their economic woes, in revolutionary fashion , which they are being forced to pay for in record federal spending. Obama would then bring down the Iron Fist system established by Bush since 9/11 called Homeland Security (and actually intended to control the American people, not terrorists). Why do you think the government has been rehearsing scenarios of "civil unrest"?

Also of interest: "We will stop outsourcing services that should be performed by the government and open up the contracting process to small businesses," he said. "We will end unnecessary no-bid and cost-plus contracts that run up a bill that is paid by the American people. And we will strengthen oversight to maximize transparency and accountability." They'll stop "outsourcing services that should be performed by the government?" Decades of Republican BS take a hit as it now becomes clear that the private sector can't provide government services better than the government itself. Apparently, John McCain is now cool with that.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

The earlier renditions program regularly involved snatching and removing targets for purposes of bringing them to justice by delivering them to a criminal justice system. It did not involve the operation of long-term detention facilities and it did not involve torture.
