Bob Barr: The "Change" of the Republican Party
blueridge
by blueridge  Yesterday 2:37 PM    1
Powerful. The neo-republican party exposed from a former republican who pushed to impeach Clinton. Barr's credibility from being a very influential republican Congressman, and earlier experience in the CIA, make his arguments formidable. During the last 8 years republicans have left their own platform, especially regarding limited government and individual liberty which they once championed. Listen on REAL audio beginning at 1:00:00 mark. Despite much talk of democracy the Libertarian candidate is being excluded from debates from the two-party tyranny. Ron Paul and Bob Barr are just two effective witnesses to the "change" of the republican party and the great danger to freedom it poses. .

Last election cycle they Laughed at and Mocked the Military Service of one of the Presidential Candidates who Served This Country In Vietnam, just as I Did, and being in the same service branch, the U.S. Navy, they Spit on my Service, All my brother and sister Naval personal who served In-Country, and All the other Service Personal, but most of All, All Those Who Have Served This Country and Received It's Highest Honor For That Service, The Purple Heart!!! I was waiting to see how they would Slam their Fellow Americans this year. Bush Pushes for More Police Power
katsteevns

(cont.)Four Democratic senators - with the lamentable absence of their leader, Harry Reid - also have reminded the attorney general of his oath to protect the Constitution. Russ Feingold, Richard Durbin, Edward Kennedy and Sheldon Whitehouse warn not only Mukasey but also the rest of us that the new rules "might permit an innocent American to be subjected to such intrusive surveillance based in part on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or on protected First Amendment activities." As Lara Jakes Jordan of The Associated Press (Aug. 18) pointed out: "The new policy, law enforcement officials said, would let agents open preliminary terrorism investigations after mining public records and intelligence (including tips from informants) to build a profile of traits that, taken together, were deemed suspicious." There would be no evidence of criminal activity.

Republicans Play the Sexism Card
DanaGarrett
by DanaGarrett  9-3-2008
"It's that damn liberal press" was the first excuse that the McCain campaign gave for the discoveries that the press and bloggers easily made after the campaign was caught failing to vet Sarah Palin. Now the new excuse targets the Obama campaign. Criticism of Palin makes one sexist. Specific criticisms don't have to be answered. They can all be dismissed by playing the sexism card. The translation: make all the criticisms go away because we can't answer them.

GOP Plays the Gender Card
Wisco
by Wisco  9-2-2008    3
Before you say this is just Laura Bush speaking for Laura Bush, consider this: I am appalled by the Obama campaign's attempts to belittle Governor Sarah Palin's experience. The facts are that Sarah Palin has made more executive decisions as a Mayor and Governor than Barack Obama has made in his life. Because of Hillary Clinton's historic run for the Presidency and the treatment she received, American women are more highly tuned than ever to recognize and decry sexism in all its forms. They will not tolerate sexist treatment of Governor Palin. - HP's former CEO Carly Fiorina and RNC fundraiser, quoted in RNC press release The McCain camp, who wanted everyone to freak out when Obama supposedly "played the race card," are now claiming that any criticism of Sarah Palin is sexist. The Republican Party; never one to shy away from blatant hypocrisy.

When you consider that Reagan was probably out of it from Day One of his term and that Bill Clinton is a close associate of George Bush Sr., the Bush crime syndicate has been influencing when not outright running the executive branch continuously since 1980, which, perhaps not so coincidentally, marks the earliest days of the credit bubble the economy is now having serious trouble digesting.

“Since passage of the Patriot Act, many companies based outside of the United States have been reluctant to store client information in the U.S.,” said Marc Rotenberg, executive director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington. “There is an ongoing concern that U.S. intelligence agencies will gather this information without legal process. There is particular sensitivity about access to financial information as well as communications and Internet traffic that goes through U.S. switches.”

Hillary Fans and "PUMAs for Palin"
merrie
by merrie  8-31-2008    1
Some Clinton Donors Are Contributing to McCain ABC News Some of Hillary Clinton's most fervent supporters are taking their enthusiasm – and their campaign contributions – to John McCain. More than 85 of Clinton's fundraisers, including Donald Trump, Univision chief executive Joseph Uva, cable mogul Charles Dolan, philanthropist Norma Hess and one of Florida's biggest lobbyists appear to be skipping Barack Obama when it comes to writing checks for the general election, according to an ABCNews.com review of campaign finance records. These Clinton donors have contributed at least $200,000 to McCain's campaign in the last few months, an amount which doesn't include larger contributions to the Republican joint fundraising committees. The defecting donors, along with a significant segment (20 percent) of Clinton fans who have expressed support for McCain in recent polls, could present a problem for Obama in the general election.
