POPSI Will Try To Change This Societal change is very difficult. I I walk, down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in I am lost.... I am helpless It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out. II I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again I can't believe I am in the same place but, it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. III I walk down the same street There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there.' I still fall in.... it's a habit, my eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately. IV I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. V I walk down another street. To experience emotional ambivalence is to know one of life's deepest agonies. How can I change this? (cont)

POPS America Will Remain the Superpower But that only means it had outperformed nearly every single major foreign stock exchange, including Germany's XETRADAX (down 28%) China's Shanghai exchange (down 30%), Japan's NIKK225 (down 37%), Brazil's BOVESPA (down 41%) and Russia RTSI (down 61%). These contrasts are a useful demonstration that America's financial woes are nobody else's gain. On the other hand, global economic distress doesn't invariably work at cross-purposes with American interests. Hugo Chávez's nosedive toward bankruptcy begins when oil dips below $80 a barrel, the price where it hovers now. An identical logic, if perhaps at a different price, applies to the petrodictatorships in Moscow and Tehran, which already are heavily saddled with inflationary and investor-confidence concerns. Russia will also likely burn through its $550 billion in foreign-currency reserves faster than anticipated -- a pleasing if roundabout comeuppance for last summer's Georgian adventure.

POPSThe Beauty of the Ephemeral While reading Kim's post I was reminded of the Japanese celebration of ohanami or the Cherry Blossom Festival. They observe this same appreciation of the brief, but intense beauty of such times. Different seasons, same sense.

POPSSC Lowcountry Gas Prices Continue to Decline Is there another factor at work here? Gasoline sellers do seem to take their time when lowering the price of gas. Wholesalers charge retailers the maximum amount possible, because they do want to make money. This in turn makes the gasoline sellers want to keep prices as high as they can for as long as they can, to make a dollar or to recover costs. So it appears that they don’t lower their prices until inventories build up and they have to move product.

POPSWRONG! Ob.'s Mid-Class Tax to RISE ! $ ! From their pocket to the Lower Class's. Just as in HOUSING. You know, the ones who will pull the rest down. when they are mandated through community intimidation, wealth they haven't earned. Not because they are in dire need situations, but, because they are able to raise an arm and say,"Gimme Mine!" Let's take it to the National level, it works so well.
