POPSA little Kiss The older lady was thinking, "Isn't it wonderful that even in this permissive day and age there are still young women who have a little self-respect and dignity?" The young woman, shaking her head and greatly puzzled, asked herself, "Why in the world would any man in his right mind want to kiss an old fossil like that when I'm sitting here?" The Sergeant Major, rubbing his sore face, was outraged that any woman could ever think that a man in his position would try to sneak a kiss in the dark. And the private, grinning from ear to ear, was thinking, "What a crazy and mixed up world this is when a private can kiss the back of his hand and then smack a Sergeant Major in the face and get away with it!"

POPS"Super Cells"! Single Celled Organisms that can Make Oil, Cure Cancer, and Build a City Amazing science. We might think Bacteria's mightiest power is confining us to the bathroom after an ill-advised late night snack, but having only one cell to deal with means bacteria can adapt incredibly well - and a single mutation can give rise to powers that make Professor Xavier's wheelchair-accessible mansion look like a home for people who are good at minigolf. Here we look at five organisms that would be called the Super-Cells, if that name wasn't probably already taken by Michael Crichton.

POPSWeak Mens' collections I always find that men's collections are really lacking I adored Ralph Lauren's 2008 Mens collection sorry I'm too lazy to go find pictures. The picture I clipped is an example of a mens outfit not so lacking from Yves Saint Laurent. I actually quite like it but it looks trite not so extravagant yet fully wearable like Last years Ralph Lauren and some of this years female collections (some being the opertaive word)

POPSThat ugly Salmonella Saintpaul Incredible inconsistencies! An Outbreak is local event; when we calling it Multi-State, this is already nationwide Epidemic. 810 cases in 36 states in 3 months are Nationwide Epidemic? Common! What are you talking about?:) And now is the trouble with repacking... To tell the true, that plum tomatoes are really disgusting: tasteless, resinlike and even oily when you touch them. Where it's from: fashion hydroponic method of growing or just microbial film from those handlers-repackers? In this particular case it make sense to wash these veggies with detergent. In case you've got strong decision not trowing them away from very beginning and keep them for yourself. ;)

POPSFossil fish reveals complex evolution One of the things about evolution, is that it keeps branching. Some of the missing links, are the common ancestors of various branches. Branches often splitting because of different threads finding different answers to the same problem. We wont find all of the threads, probably the best we can do is continue to review, and clarify the principal of adaptation. Perhaps the history of the earth's climate can be drawn from the adaptations that have resulted from change. There were millions no doubt billions of species for which there is no fossil record. Every species that exists has the potential to propagate a new split. Evolution continues today and will continue while the earth supports life.

POPSWorld is 'effeminate' thanks to men's fashion... I don't know anything about the men in Kazakhstan, but I'm sure noticing it in our Western culture. On change-over at my last tennis match, two young mothers were talking about the horrors of *violence* in children's books at their local library but laughing that their little boys enjoyed playing dress-up with their little sisters' princess outfits. I'm sure I'll get a lot of flack, but give me a boy who wants to play dodge ball, king-of-the-mountain, search for bugs and toads, etc...any day. I believe a lot of men are having an identity crisis and I can't blame it on the fashion industry. I say "what fashion"?

POPSGold nanoparticles go couture They say the difference in price is like comparing a Toyota with a BMW What is a surprise, is the number of colours that result. Other metal compounds can have particular colours, such as the red of lead or iron oxide (rust), the blue of Copper nitrate, and while silver nitrate has been used in photography, This is the first time colours have been drawn from Gold and silver in this way. One of the reasons Gold is so expensive, apart from it's history, and the futures market, is because it has so many applications.
