POPSViolence Against Women - or Fatherhood and Men? Since the inception of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, the domestic violence industry has had over ten years to solve, or improve, the problem of domestic violence in our society. Billions and billions of dollars have been spent to create a fat, bloated bureaucracy that appears at times to have done as much to harm to the lives of women as it has done to help, and soon that bureaucracy will be asking for more money. POPSMore AP "Messiah" subliminal messages? It's really getting silly....except that very few Americans are Biblically literate anymore. Or maybe the press is just looking for these kinds of photo-ops to make the impression.

POPSThe Obama Family Attend Services In Chicago With his head bowed, the younger Brazier said as worshipers joined hands, “We ask that you give him great wisdom, knowledge, power and understanding. We pray that you give him the mind of Christ, so that when he speaks, demons will tremble, mountains will be removed, and when the firing guards of the enemy are flung his way, that the prayers of the saved protect him and let the world know that no weapon formed against him shall prosper.”

POPSChristian Science Monitor on Reverend Wright - Did Obama's Pastor Preach Hate?
What people hear depends on their own experience and worldview, says Teresa Brown, who teaches the art of preaching at Emory U. in Atlanta. "I listen to 60 sermons a week by black and white pastors, you can find something in almost any one that is offensive to somebody." The key as to whether language is hate speech lies in a preacher's overall message, according to Martin Marty, of the University of Chicago Divinity School and renowned historian of religion. Dr. Marty, who has visited Trinity many times, says, "If Wright only had whites in his searchlight, you might call it . But he goes after the men in his church" about fatherhood, he puts himself and his people under the prophetic spotlight. "The black church took the distorted version of Christianity that provided the religious justification for slavery, carved out the racist elements ..and implanted new content that actually moved Christianity in this country closer to Jesus' message," says Dr. Braxton.

POPSChurch condemns lesbian IVF use There really is no one-size fits all solution here. A child needs a loving, healthy atmosphere to grow up in. I know enough people who grew up in spite of their fathers presence, equally those who grew up in spite of their mothers. Either way, I don't believe banning people from raising children because of their sexuality is right.

POPSJapanese Men Can Take "Daddy Exam" This would probably be a good "exam" for men in any country. There are way too many men in this world who also believe that raising children falls only to women. Get with the program dad! Male input into children's lives is immeasurable. These are your children too! Love 'em ... but don't leave 'em to their mothers to raise!
