Hmmm, I wonder who are considered third and fourth class citizens. And, why YouTube remove the video? I haven’t read anything from her or from the Dubai-based MBC but I’m willing to bet that they are not sucking up to Obama like the American main stream press is. You gotta play by the rules, baby.

Wasn't it Bush that got Chicago on the short list to begin with? The Olympic committee isn't going to give President Obama a chance to take his own advice in 2016..

SA Suspends ID Suicide Officials
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  9-14-2009    1
he Department of Home Affairs has come under heavy criticism over the years for its inefficiency in issuing ID documents, birth certificates and passports, with some people claiming to have waited up to four years. He had apparently been trying to get an ID card for some time without any luck and had been told to bring someone who could vouch for his nationality. But the official did not believe that the man he brought along was his father, tore up Mr Mhlongo's papers and called him a "kwere-kwere" - a derogatory term used for foreign nationals. He apparently left the suicide note before hanging himself. Tragic.

Mark Steyn on ACORN: Community Organizing in Action by Publius
merrie
by merrie  9-12-2009    1
And if necessary, that means conscripting all kinds of peculiar figures, including pimps, prostitutes and their various fictional or real dependents in foreign lands, and claiming benefits for them. And it’s absolutely outrageous that actually more of this wasn’t exposed in the campaign, because Obama’s connection to ACORN, and his willingness to give ACORN a role in the United States Census, puts a huge question mark over the reliability of government data, and over U.S. elections, not so much in blue and red states, but in purple states, it puts a big question mark over the integrity of those elections. HH: It was the second ACORN story this week. There was one in Florida about false registrations where indictments have come down, raising the specter perhaps of pattern and practice investigation by that U.S. attorney. But by itself, right now, we’ve got one corrupt ACORN official advising two young, undercover investigative journalists on how to

Russian Professor – Collapse Of America Could Begin In Two Months

whereas Obama was just a social worker. His mentality is totally different. He’s a nice person and talks nicely – but he’s not a leader and will take America to a crash. When Americans understand that – it will be like a bomb explosion.” Since 1998, Panarin has been warning of a future disintegration of the United States and the collapse of the dollar. The recent election victory for Japan’s Democratic Party is another sign that the economic collapse of the U.S. is imminent, according to Panarin. “Today I received another confirmation that the collapse of the dollar and the US is inevitable. Japan’s Democratic Party won the election, and I’d like to remind you that its leader has the snubbing of the dollar among his economic plans. In plainer words, he plans to transfer Japan’s monetary reserves from US dollars into another currency. The move will seriously accelerate the dollar’s exchange slump as early as this November. Disintegration will follow shortly,” he s

Right-wing Scum Mocks Freed Journalist

Because I have the TV on in the background when at the computer, I hear a lot of news. But for sanity and decent morality I must hit the mute button 100x's a day; but it's not enough. I gotta get quicker on the trigger. Even something as 100% pure positive as two of your citizens, woman journalist, getting freed from a foreign jail is trashed by our corrosive, toxic news and warped media -- as this clip shows. Right-wing nut job news also needed an angle to disparage this so they fabricated - just started saying something bad behind the scenes had to be offered to NKorea...we had to give up something or make concessions -- all without any need for evidence of this. If they want such a horrid example the "Iran-Contra," scam of Regan's was world-class wrongdoing. The NYPost had the headline: "Bubba Gets the Chicks." Oh...ha ha...no moment, no event can pass without such mean-spirited debased scorn...and this now applies to Everything. Now they also resort to more thug

Newsweek Reporter Faces Iran Trial: Lawyer
merrie
by merrie  7-4-2009    1
"Any kind of interview and confession by these people who are being held in prison is invalid under the law and the Iranian constitution," Nikbakht added. Less than a week ago, the Fars news agency reported an "interview" with Bahari, in which he said that he had filed "unreal and biased reports from Iran which were driven by greed." On Wednesday Newsweek repeated a call on Iran to release its correspondent immediately and rejected charges made against him. The US news weekly said that Bahari has been detained in Iran since June 21 without access to a lawyer. It quoted an Iranian state news agency as saying that Bahari "has said he participated in a Western media effort to promote irresponsible reporting in Iran." Scores of journalists and reformist politicians were arrested following President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed re-election, which triggered mass protests in Iran and charges of voter fraud.

The Infowarrior

Again a tough article to clip, do yourself a favour and make sure to read the whole thing. Be aware that the governments of North America and Europe are also doing this but with a much better sleight of hand. sites like Youtube and Yahoo and their parent company Google are well known for removing videos that don't fit their view of how we should live. But did you know that they plan to do away with free speech online completely? as with everything I spout you can go look for the evidence yourself (those of you who aren't too lazy to anyway) just search out "Internet 2" On a related topic, if you want a non-biased uncensored search engine that doesnt log everything you do online, then may I suggest you use "http://www.scroogle.org/"

Obama Is The Anti-Reagan
merrie
by merrie  6-9-2009    1
What kind of leader is it who talks down his own country on foreign soil? America's performance in the Cold War was hardly flawless. But does anyone deny that we were on the right side, that the Soviet Empire and Mao's China and communist Vietnam and Castro's Cuba were on the side of tyranny -- and that the neutrals were by and large irrelevant or worse in that great cause? A nation is an extended family. While families fight and quarrel, often bitterly, you do not take the family quarrel outside the family. You don't hang the family's dirty linen on the communal clothesline. Obama, however -- like some Hollywood actress seeking sympathy and public approbation with her tell-all biography detailing how she was abused by her father -- trolls for popularity with America's adversaries by reciting for the benefit of the world all the sins his country has allegedly committed. When did this become the duty of the president of the United States?

12 Years Jail Sentences For 2 US Journalists Imprisoned in NKorea
merrie
by merrie  6-8-2009    1
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she was "incredibly concerned" about the plight of the two women. In working for their release, Clinton said she has spoken with foreign officials with influence in North Korea and explored the possibility of sending an envoy to the North, but suggested that no one would be sent during the trial. Another American who was tried in North Korea in 1996 was treated more leniently. Evan C. Hunziker, apparently acting on a drunken dare, swam across the Yalu River - which marks the North's border with China - and was arrested after farmers found the man, then 26, naked. He was accused of spying and detained for three months before being freed after negotiations with a special U.S. envoy. The North Koreans wanted Hunziker to pay a $100,000 criminal fine but eventually agreed on a $5,000 payment to settle a bill for a hotel where he was detained.

Israel Launches New Propaganda campaign 'Hasbara'

Several pro-Israeli public relations organizations also work for Hasbara and are involved in intensive letter-writing and talk-back radiocall campaigns aimed at challenging any views critical of Tel Aviv. Many journalists covering the Middle East will confirm that this area is one of the touchiest in regard to hyper-sensitive lobby groups. Editors too are regular recipients of a flurry of mail protesting any articles deemed too critical of Israel. Students, supportive of Israel, on university campuses throughout the United States have also been supplied with the Hasbara Handbook, which details how to promote Israel and counter criticism of the country.

Talking Heads Resort To Repugnant Demagogic Attacks On Octuplets' Mother
GlennFrancoSimmons
by GlennFrancoSimmons  2-6-2009
Anyone in media making prejudicial and racist comments should be taken to task by other media, but don't expect that to happen. Why? Because media fail to do what the Society of Professional Journalists' (I belong to SPJ) Code of Ethics tells them to do: "Expose unethical practices of journalists and the news media." As American and foreign media carried sensational headlines, the lives of these babies were held in the balance, and only one talk-show host got it right, and that was Mike Gallagher, who said that each of those children is a gift from God and that we should be praying for those children. I would take his comment one step further: We should also pray for the mother and praise her for not aborting a single child.

NSA Spied on Journalists
Wisco

The piece goes on: "In one of the operations that I was in, we looked at organizations, just supposedly so that we would not target them," Tice told Olbermann. "What I was finding out, though, is that the collection on those organizations was 24/7 and 365 days a year -- and it made no sense. ... I started to investigate that. That's about the time when they came after me to fire me." When Olbermann pressed him for specifics, Tice offered, "An organization that was collected on were US news organizations and reporters and journalists." We were keeping tabs on Katie Couric and Chris Matthews -- because they're such gigantic terrorist threats. Feel safer now?
