Its proponents as well as its opponents still occasionally address the subject as though they were engaging in a philosophical debate. There are also differences of emphasis, and a whiff of sectarianism amongst the proponents of the various standard licences. It is for others to address these theological disputes. It is, rather, the purpose of this Review to take one step back and look behind the rhetoric in a rigorous and objective fashion, to probe, to analyse, to question received wisdom, and to bring proper academic discipline to the study of Free and Open Source software in its legal and wider context. Free and Open Source Software has become a serious player. It deserves serious analysis.

POPSOpenberg Lector Firefox Reader Makes certain file reading even smoother than Adobe, or viewing in HTML. (You'd think I knew what I was talking about.Dis that make sense?) I've only seen it do "e-Pub" files and without all the clutter around your window it moves from page to page with a slight resistance of the scroller. Otherwise you'd not know it was there at all. Seemed to me to be of above average utility for an extension. But then there are so many that make my Firefox a whole new browser.

POPSUbisoft to enter Hollywood Arena It sounds like a good way for Ubisoft to get their feet wet in the movie making business. However, I am a little confused by the dichotomy in their actions versus words. Ramping up to 3,000 employees and dropping $400m is a serious step, but their on record comment seems to state that this move is entirely motivated to make better games. With this in mind, if they only concentrate on movis enough to improve their games, I envision lackluster reviews of their films. I personally enjoy this company, so I hope they succeed in their venture.

POPSA MUST for Windows Users! Get it NOW!! This s/w allows you to create alias for ANY folder. This is similar to what the web does with using names instead of IP address (e.g. www.cnn.com instead of 122.1.2.2). This program allows you to name say, c:\my documents\my pictures\family photos\wedding pics as simply Wedding Pics. Then whenever you want to get to that folder simply right click anywhere on the desktop, choose folder guide, then choose Wedding Pics. 3 whole clicks! You can also use this in 'Save As' dialogs. Simply right click in the area where the folders are and do the same thing. I don't know why Microsoft didn't include this as a default tool. I wonder if it's in vista or not. A great program that does something right....and it's FREE!!!
