POPSWho murdered Ciara Durkin? Senators John Kerry and Ted Kennedy have supported Ms Durkin's family's call for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Ciara was the 8th of 9 children, all born in Ireland. After retiring as a teacher in Galway, the father, Tom Durkin returned to the US with his wife, Angela, and settled in Dorchester in 1986 when Ciara was 9. He died of a heart attack several weeks after the family moved to Boston. As a young girl, she attended St. Mark’s Elementary School in Dorchester. She joined the Army National Guard in October 2005 after getting laid off from her information technology job at Fenway Health. Brother Pierce Durkin wasn’t home when Ciara called from Afghanistan to wish him a happy birthday. Hours later, after learning that she had been killed, he listened to her singing ‘‘Happy Birthday’’ again.

POPSHolloween in Dublin. Today... Gays, drink, money, Amnesty. NO religion!
When I saw this photo in the Irish Times of the fun in Temple Bar, Dublin, it was the first time that I knew of the event. Temple Bar was the oldest part of Dublin and has been completely restored. Yet an old fella like me would have stood out with all the young people who flock there. I'm reminded of great Irish traditions that went to America and are now returned, repackaged and better and in some cases even better than left your shores. We've commented here on ChipMarks about Halloween and pumpkins. Well the biggest of all is St.Patrick's Day. That now is celebrated throughout the world, Russia, China, you name it. I'm not sure but I think you invented it. A decade or so ago it was a pitiful affair. Now it would rival any similar event in the World and now not just in Dublin. Spilling out from this are numerous other events throughout the year. That photo gives you an idea of the standard. At times you would think you were in South America. I'm guessing but I think quite a few

POPSOn this day in 1987, an ICON was murdered by CIA
The hunt for Guevara in Bolivia was headed by Félix Rodríguez, a CIA agent. He was captured while leading a detachment with Simeón Cuba Sarabia in the Quebrada del Yuro ravine. He shouted "Do not shoot! I am Che Guevara and worth more to you alive than dead." Early the next afternoon he was executed. To make the bullet wounds appear consistent with the official story sold to the public, Felix Rodriguez, the CIA asset, ordered the soldier who pulled the trigger to aim carefully to make it appear that Che had been killed in action during a clash with the Bolivian army, and thus to help coverup the official secret assassination. He received multiple shots to the legs, so as to avoid maiming his face for identification purposes and simulate combat wounds in an attempt to conceal his ex judicial execution. He said to his executioner, "I know you are here to kill me. Shoot, coward, you are only going to kill a man." Some of his belongings are on display by the CIA as trophies

POPSRevolutionary Virtual Chemical Compound Provides Plug-In Ballistic Protection Increased cyber-terrorist activity, hacking, and general assaults against web sites are being reported in record numbers. And while network security managers are scrambling to keep up with the latest malware, hacker and spyware assaults, there’s one company that has been working in the background to create a revolutionary chemical compound on a card that can actually be plugged into any server to make it, as the inventor says, “bullet proof.”
