POPSPictures: “Lego Block” Prison Cells Readied In Utah I'd hate to speculate the purpose of these, but the way things are going I wouldn't doubt they are for civil unrest.. If you researched the last RNC you will know that they arrested any un-embedded reporters such as Amy Goodman and crew on bogus charges, but they were among a few people that were arrested by POLICE < in all black uniforms with no ID just POLICE! It is said that the POLICE used in such a violation of our rights will be blackwater types from foreign nations.

POPSCharges Dropped Against Reporters Arrested At RNC One has to wonder if this was the plan all along, and the real intention was simply to inhibit reporting of abuses against protestors. Or maybe they’re hoping that with the reporters out of court, the media won’t be so interested in covering the 800 or so other arrests. With over forty journalists arrested, there should surely be at least some investigation of police officers involved for trumping up charges too:

POPSJOURNALISTS ACQUITTED The arrested journalists at the RNC have been acquitted- A small victory in the struggle for a democratic free press

POPSMore Than 40 Arrested At RNC Were Press Seems to me we used to have some sort of First Amendment or something. "Media representatives in town to cover the events, from both big and small presses, were slapped with citations and pending charges ranging in severity, including unlawful assembly, obstructing the legal process, misdemeanor interference with a peace officer and felony to riot plus other riot pretenses," Pratt writes. "Many others who weren't arrested or detained endured pepper spray and other arms used for crowd control."

POPSThere's always a Police (RIOT) in Patriot Act. If only this technology had been available to the public, during the rise of Hitler, the inhuman memories of what took place during those dark times in human history, would perhaps, not have occurred... Everyone should do what they can to expose such abusive handling of our press... Freespeech is one of the main components of a democracy. If lost, fascism WILL take its place. http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com

POPSAcclaimed Journalist Amy Goodman Arrested This is a clear violation of the first amendment. Amy and her crew had clearly visible Press badges and the camera's were in plain view. Amy and her crew were filming and reporting on the protester's at the RNC.

POPSGoodman tells of violent arrest On RNC convention floor when she hears colleagues bloodied. One kicked in chest, one thrown to the ground, despite complete non-participation in demonstration, obvious press passes, and media equipment. Now we shall see if Republicans really do favor small government and individual rights.

POPSAmy Goodman (Democracy Now!) Arrested at RNC Now there going after journalists: "Democracy Now's Amy Goodman, Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar were arrested by the Minneapolis Police Department. Charged with conspiracy to riot. Footage from Rick Rowley and Brandon Jourdan. "

POPSFrom the horse's mouth: McCain's health-care advisor's personal blog McCain's health-care advisor, John Goodman, thinks we should deal with the problem of uninsured Americans by ordering the Census Bureau to stop calling people "uninsured." I kid you not. He says that since pretty much everyone ends up getting the medical care they need somehow or other, no one's really uninsured. If you read the whole post, you'll also see that Goodman is a little confused about how employer-provided health plans work in real life. This is also the same guy who recently said, commenting on health disparities between whites and nonwhites in the U.S., that "doctors just don’t control our over-eating, over-smoking, over-drinking, and shoot-outs in the hood." (http://snipr.com/3kuaa) Nice, dude. Nice.

POPSMcCain Health Policy Advisor: There Are No Uninsured Americans! Voila! Problem solved! Just don't count them. Ignore them. Screw them. Voila! Unbelievable. Emergency room care is NOT health care. These people really are heartless, because they can't be so stupid as to not understand that preventative medicine is not only cheaper, it also saves, lengthens, and improves lives. So they just must be heartless. I don't know what else to call them. Unless I depart from polite discourse.

POPSMcCain's Healthcare Plan -- Emergency Rooms John McCain's healthcare adviser on how to fix healthcare -- declare there are no uninsured. Hell, that'd solve so many problems. We can declare there are no poor, no unemployed, no undereducated, and no homeless. Freakin' brilliant...
