Coldest Temp in California Since Record Keeping Began in 1893

by pkronfield  Today 6:35 AM    1
Man made global warming is as honest a concept as Obama's statements that he is not close to Ayers or Rizko or Wright, and that he has nothing to do with ACORN voting fraud. It's all a pack of lies generated by liberals for political power.

CrazyRedHead

There's a scene in the 1970 film Fatso when an overweight character poses the following question to his friends: "Did you ever suck the jelly out of a jelly doughnut and then fill it with chocolate swirl ice cream?" Most people react to that query in one of two ways: They either say to themselves, "That's disgusting!" or "That's disgusting ... I want one!"

Indy area to snag 277 EnerDel jobs
finifinito

Green jobs are finally beginning to proliferate in Indiana as new manufacturing jobs. With our excess of shuttered manufacturing facilities throughout Indiana, we are poised to take advantage of our geographic location, our logistics support infrastructure, superior highways and roads and desirable workforce that could be used to manufacture the products of the green power revolution.

Lexica

The person who linked to this suggested replacing the jelly with Nutella, which sounds really good. A commenter later in the thread added, "I just happened to have some bacon, Hershey's bars and a kaiser roll handy. I tested it with just the above ingredients. Then I added some butter. Then some peanut butter. The complete version was excellent. So were the other partial versions. Ok, let's be honest here. Chocolate is awesome. Bacon too. add anything you want to that combo and you are good to go and considered a gourmet cook as far as I am concerned."

Blueberry Wine - No Grapes, 100% Handpicked Blueberries
mbtrainer
by mbtrainer  7-11-2008
Blueberry wine is made from 100% blueberries and not a single grape. Keel and Curley's winery has been farming and fermenting blueberries for over 9 years and has won several awards for all three of their types of blueberry wine. It may sound untraditional, but blueberry wine is delicious and great for you since it's packed full of antioxidants.

Stem Cells 2.0: Scientists Make Revolutionary Advance
tabsey
by tabsey  7-4-2008
First paragraph. A while back scientists were making revolutionary breakthroughs in stem cell research. Unfortunately they fell foul of interpretations of thousand year old texts in foreign languages, and a government with the scientific understanding of a squashed grape said "Sorry, our kind and loving God requires that people continue to suffer from Parkinson's, anemia, and various other horrible ailments." Luckily, scientists are awesome and did the obvious thing - make ANOTHER revolutionary breakthrough to get around the problem.

The calming strategy cut the physiological arousal (measured by skin conductance response) nearly in half. Additionally, they found marked reductions in the activity of the left and right striatum—a brain region involved in reward processing.
