POPSMcCain gaffes pile up; critics pile on McCain's mistakes raise a serious, if uncomfortable question: Are the gaffes the result of his age? And what could that mean in the Oval Office? Voters, thinking about their own relatives, can be expected to scrutinize McCain’s debate performances for signs of slippage

POPSBrett Favre: The Michael Corleone of Football "Just when i'm out, they drag me back in again" - Michael Corleone C'mon Brett, you were the best. You won multiple titles, MVPs, and could throw a football on a rope 60 yards. Don't you remember your days in Atlanta when you were throwing the ball to DBs as if they were on your team? Do you really want to go back to the future and relive those days? I doubt the Lambeau faithful do. What the league - and especially the Pack - needs is a new "Brett Favre"...not the old one.

POPSNorthern Illinois Univ Shooting Facts Fuel Suspicious Oddities and comparisons made to Virginia Tech, and the timing is always interesting for such events, and how they fuel new "national debates" from local crimes. It is the perfect scenario for laying ground work for propaganda and "new laws".

POPSCD Sales Still A Brisk Business For Some
From Idolator, we have short but sweet post about a small indie record store still succeeding in Green Bay, WI. I have heard other reports of indie record stores still doing well despite the wider turn in the business as a whole. As the indie stores find their way forward it shouldn't surprise anyone that recorded music is still a tactile experience for many fans. Downloads of the legal or illegal variety are great for listening to new music or out of print classics you can't find anymore, but for real fans they want to hold the CD in their hands, read the liner notes and look at the photos in the inner sleeve. Lesson learned: never forget music is an experiential business. Fans still want to experience a connection with their favorite artists. This is why the live music business is still so vital and healthy, that experience at the show and the ticket stub and tshirt to go with it can never be downloaded, neither can the CD case with liner notes.

POPSNIU shooter A Green Bay, Wis.-based Internet gun dealer who sold a weapon to the Virginia Tech shooter last year said he also sold handgun accessories to Kazmierczak. "I'm still blown away by the coincidences," Eric Thompson said. "I'm shaking. I can't believe somebody would order from us again and do this." Thompson's Web site, http://www.topglock.com, sold two empty 9 mm Glock magazines and a Glock holster to Kazmierczak on Feb. 4., though he had no idea whether they were used in Thursday's rampage. Thompson said his site did not sell Kazmierczak any bullets or guns.

POPSCommissioner sticks by NFL Network Commissioner sticks by NFL Network and sticks it to the fans, of course. After all we need to accommodate the NFL, not the fans that actually pay all those over-priced salaries. By going after the money the NFL sticks it to the fans once again. This decision should have been put off another year for the sake of the fans instead of the stuffing the NFL coffers.
