POPSNRA ramps up ad campaign against Obama "The pro-gun group is claiming that Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history. But in the view of many Californians, his stand might not be such a bad thing. The state has led efforts to restrict military-style semiautomatic weapons, large magazines and the sale of cheap handguns most often used in robberies."

POPSAnother NYPD tasering death A Mentally disturbed man on a baloney, posing no immediate threat to anyone was tasered by the police and fell, as you would expect someone to and died on impact. In post articles the officer is very sorry...

POPSTale of the Two Bracelets My call? McCain unhesitatingly cited the name of the fallen soldier, with passion and commitment. The elitist man-child had to glance at his bracelet for the name on it, then stuttered the name, unfamiliar with it. The insincerity of this showed that the bracelet on his wrist is but another campaign prop, and a sneer to those of us who cling to our guns and religion.

POPSAnother Taser Death Pain compliance, better known as torture, is a short cut tool to obtain obedience, if applied to any other creature Taser use would be considered inhumane by most folks. Tasers would be best used if reserved as a punishment for the found guilty; this shocking assessment reveals a great crime deterrent.

POPSSanteria followers fight for religious freedom Pichardo thought Santeria needed to be more organized to enjoy its full legal rights. He put those rights to the test in the late 1980s, when he tried to open a worship hall in Hialeah. Many of his fellow Cuban-Americans howled in protest. Some said it was Satanic or anti-Christian. They also protested the slaying of animals on the property, and in 1987, the city council passed a law banning "public ritualistic animal sacrifices." The church argued that its constitutional religious rights had been violated, and six years later, the law was struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

POPSImpeached Federal Judge Alcee Hastings' Stupid Rant
Hastings, who is African-American, was explaining what he intended to tell his Jewish constituents about the presidential race. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through,” Hastings added as the room erupted in laughter and applause. Let's face it. There is no way a Republican could say anything this foul and still have a career. Then again... There aren't any impeached Republican judges currently serving in the US House. The New Editor has more on this disgusting attack on Sarah Palin by a Democratic leader. To Florida Democrat Rep. Alcee Hastings, people who own guns and hunt apparently hate Jews and Blacks. Seriously. And 'enlightened' people who hear a politician say this react by laughing and cheering. From CNN: (via Hot Air) (emphasis added) http://www.theneweditor.com/index.php?/archives/8579-Another-Democrat-Says-Something-Stupid-About-Sarah-Palin.html

POPSA White Guy Reflects on White Anti-Intellectualism What else but a deep contempt for education (or book learnin' as we sometimes jokingly refer to it in the South) could explain why Barack Obama's Harvard Law School education can be mocked as elitist and out of touch, while John McCain's bottom-feeder academic record and Sarah Palin's four colleges in six years and degree from the University of Idaho, makes them ready to lead, and more like "normal people?" (And please, don't tell me how it isn't his education that poses the problem, but rather his comments about rural folks clinging to God and guns when times are tight, since a week after he made that comment, Dick Cheney implied that West Virginians were all a bunch of inbreds, and rural whites didn't seem to care, since at least he isn't an uppity black guy).

POPSMean Girl Perhaps this is why Sarah is not allowed to speak with the media, or why reporters are not allowed in the same room with her and heads of state. The article continues: There was a knife-sharp, personal edge to Palin's campaign that many locals found disturbing, particularly because of the warm relationship between Palin and Stein before the race. "I had a hand in creating Sarah, but in the end she blew me out of the water," Stein said, sounding more wearily ironic than bitter. "Sarah's on a mission, she's an opportunist." This woman is from the same mold as Dick Cheney, and that is down right scary.

POPSWhat A Deer Does And Doesn't See "Some soldiers hung on to the old-fashioned designs because of what Dr. O’Neill called the C.D.I. factor: Chicks Dig It. If male hunters feel that way about their old overalls, there may still be lots of shrubs and trees toting guns and bows during hunting season. These guys may or may not be right about women going for this look. But the deer probably appreciate it. " I can't wait to email this clip to {{cabanaben}} and see what he thinks about it :)

POPSWhy Putin Should Scare Us - Ralph Peters Good article. "Meanwhile, our next president will have to cope with this brilliant, dangerous man. That's going to require the experience and skills to exploit every element of our national power; to convince Europe that appeasement will only enlarge Putin's appetite; and to draw clear lines while avoiding drawn guns. Above all, our president will have to take Putin's measure accurately and not indulge in wishful thinking. Managing Putin's Russia could emerge as our No. 1 security challenge."

POPSFolksy Wisdom Memorable tag line: "These people don't cling to their guns and their god in tough times. They cling to their guns and their god all the time."
