POPSSecret Mission Rescues Yemen's Jews
and travel to the capital 50 miles to the south. There, they met U.S. State Department officials conducting a clandestine operation to bring some of Yemen's last remaining Jews to America to escape rising anti-Semitic violence in his country. In all, about 60 Yemeni Jews have resettled in the U.S. since July; officials say another 100 could still come. There were an estimated 350 in Yemen before the operation began. Some of the remainder may go to Israel and some will stay behind, most in a government enclave. The secret evacuation of the Yemeni Jews -- considered by historians to be one of the oldest of the Jewish diaspora communities -- is a sign of America's growing concern about this Arabian Peninsula land of 23 million. The operation followed a year of mounting harassment, and was plotted with Jewish relief groups while Washington was signaling alarm about Yemen. In July, Gen. David Petraeus was dispatched to Yemen to encourage President Ali Abdullah Saleh to be

POPSWomen Warriors The Army inserting women in direct combat without consent from Congress is a practice that's been going on for a number of years now, she says. "It's gotten worse," Donnelly said. "It's the policymakers I fault in this. They are the ones responsible for deciding who goes where. The field officers are having to deal with problems like pregnancies, evacuation, sexual misconduct, romantic hostility. Right now people aren't discussing," she said. Women sleep in separate quarters, and use separate bathrooms. However, female troops are much more likely to face the additional threat of sexual harassment and assault. Almost 15 percent of female Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who have gone to the Veterans Administration for care have experienced sexual assault, according to "Women Warriors" study released this month by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

POPSProfile Of A Cyber Stalker
Cyberstalkers may research individuals to feed their obsessions and curiosity. Conversely, the acts of cyberstalkers may become more intense, such as repeatedly instant messaging their targets. More commonly they will post defamatory or derogatory statements about their stalking target on web pages, message boards and in guest books designed to get a reaction or response from their victim, thereby initiating contact. In some cases, they have been known to create fake blogs in the name of the victim containing defamatory or pornographic content. When prosecuted, many stalkers have unsuccessfully attempted to justify their behavior based on their use of public forums, as opposed to direct contact. Once they get a reaction from the victim, they will typically attempt to track or follow the victim's internet activity. Classic cyberstalking behavior includes the tracing of the victim's IP address in an attempt to verify their home or place of employment. A 2007 study, led

POPSWhy Letterman's behavior was problematic, even if consensual
More: The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission finds that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 “does not prohibit isolated instances of preferential treatment based upon consensual romantic relationships,” but is less sanguine when such treatment permeates an office: “If favoritism based upon the granting of sexual favors is widespread in a workplace, both male and female colleagues who do not welcome this conduct can establish a hostile work environment in violation of Title VII regardless of whether any objectionable conduct is directed at them and regardless of whether those who were granted favorable treatment willingly bestowed the sexual favors. In these circumstances, a message is implicitly conveyed that the managers view women as ‘sexual playthings,’ thereby creating an atmosphere that is demeaning to women.”… Another former writer e-mailed me: “And the No. 1 Sign David Letterman is changing his ways: ‘Mr. Letterman’s office. Lloyd speaking.’"

POPSIn Memory of Common Sense Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, “Truth” and “Trust,” by his wife, “Discretion,” by his daughter, “Responsibility,” and

POPSOklahoma To Post Abortion Records On Public Website More: Apparently, in Oklahoma, "small government" Republicans are only interested in keeping government out of the private lives of men, and those women who make the personal health choices with which they agree. If you think this list won't be used to intimidate women and lead to violence, you are either a liar or deluded. The anti-abortion fringe has been killing people and setting off bombs for years. Mark me, the moment this goes into effect, some woman is going to be the target of violence, and she will have been identified by this database.

POPSHouse Votes To Expand Hate Crime Laws The proposed expansion would include crimes based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. It eases restrictions on federally protected activities. The FBI says there are some 8,000 hate crimes reported around the country in a year. More than half of those are motivated by racial bias. Next most frequent are crimes based on religious bias at around 18 percent and sexual orientation at 16 percent. Hate crimes occur when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership in a certain social group, usually defined by race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, age, gender, gender identity, or political affiliation. "Hate crime" generally refers to criminal acts which are seen to have been motivated by hatred of one or more of the listed conditions. Incidents may involve physical assault, damage to property, bullying, harassment, verbal abuse or insults, or offensive graffiti or letters.

POPSAbuse led UK woman to kill disabled daughter, self More: Pilkington's son Anthony, now 19, also was abused over the years. He was once taken to a shed at knifepoint and locked in by the gang — some of whose members were as young as 10. Later, he was attacked with an iron bar. The inquest in Loughborough, in central England, heard that 33 calls to police did not result in any prosecutions for bullying or harassment. In one case police reported back that Pilkington had been "overreacting" — in another case she was simply told to draw her curtains. The inquest — which under British law must be held when someone dies unexpectedly, violently or of unknown causes — ruled that police's failure to respond to the family's pleas for help contributed to their deaths. POPSCyberbullying, A Legislative Act Toward Internet Inquisition? CATO explains what liberties are at stake in this legislation, which is much like the so-called "hate crime" bills. (All these are being manufactured and pushed by the ADL, the hypocritical defamers.) The Act goes far beyond the issue of unauthorized access, criminalizing any rude speech delivered via the internet, cell phone, or text message : ‘(a) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both .

POPSChief faces sack after 'anti-Semitic' rant verdict Laxton also said “f***ing despicable” while watching the television report and admitted that it was an “unhelpful and gratuitous comment”. Laxton, whose salary after tax is £3,000 a month, was fined £350 at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court after District Judge Howard Riddle found him guilty of racially aggravated harassment, a charge he had denied. He was also ordered to pay £500 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Mr Knowles told the court that Laxton had completed divorce proceedings that morning and added: “Whatever happens in court is secondary to the effect it will have on his career and his reputation.” The outburst was not premeditated, Mr Knowles said, adding: “It was extraordinarily out of character for Mr Laxton. He used utterly debase comments, but he is not an anti-Semite.” The man is entitled to voice his opinions. he is an expert on the Middle East.

POPSHow The Repeal Of All Gun Laws Will Free America.- A Constitutional view
"Gun laws - more than 20,000 of them - serve officials by unwinding natural values and rights of armed defence of the person and permit massive transfers of our wealth to others little by little. How gun control is related to modern crises is in how experiments and trials tested and proven on gun bans, restrictions and regulations give valuable feedback to social engineers as to how far they can go against the electorate. It's not enough to say that citizens must be disarmed first before any tyranny, it is more: it is a feature-rich test which surrenders up valuable information. " "How many have to die before the sleeping giant has his coffee and make the connection of gun control to dependency on our servants? Repeal all gun laws as the beginning of getting out from under bigger government and away from dependency on our very own public servants." POPSTown Hall Memo a "smoking gun" ?
The memo also includes these phrases, which are left out of the reporting and demagoguery: "Do not bring the signs into the hall if you want any chance to be picked for a question." "Don't carry on and make a scene, just short, intermittent shout-outs," which may sound familiar because the shout-out part was quoted without context by Think Progress. It also offers such guerrilla tactics as, "When the formal Q&A begins, get your hands up and keep them up— be persistent throughout the entire session. Keep body language neutral and look positive to improve chances of being selected." It instructs participants to be ready with follow-up questions and insist that representatives answer questions instead of launching into talking points. The memo outlined strategies MacGuffie had used during a town hall meeting with his Rep. Jim Himes in May of this year. While organizing that event and writing the memo, he emphasized that critics should not get out of hand, he said.
