Editorial from the President of Georgia
willhelm
by willhelm  8-13-2008    1
"I have staked my country's fate on the West's rhetoric about democracy and liberty. As Georgians come under attack, we must ask: If the West is not with us, who is it with? If the line is not drawn now, when will it be drawn? We cannot allow Georgia to become the first victim of a new world order as imagined by Moscow. "

Tourism for American Soldiers in Iraq
Rebecca Ruiz
by Rebecca Ruiz  8-5-2008
Unfortunately this article is behind a pay wall. I clipped what was available, but I recommend finding a way to read it. The piece focuses on a tour of the former presidential palace in Iraq. It is led by an Army sergeant who hands out full-color brochures and sketches of how the buildings looked prior to being bombed in 2003. Because of safety concerns, troops stationed in Iraq rarely travel outside of heavily protected bases. This tour is an opportunity to do so and 3,000 people have participated to date.

Now Bush Is Appeasing Iran
merrie
by merrie  7-23-2008    1
joined envoys from France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany in talks with Saeed Jalili -- Iran's nuclear negotiator and an Ahmadinejad confidant -- about incentives to give to Tehran. ven with record oil prices, mismanagement has driven the Iranian economy into the ground. On July 14, the Ministry of Housing reported an "historical" 125% rise in housing prices. The same day, Tabnak, a news Web site run by a former head of the IRGC, admitted foodstuff inflation had reached 50% annually. On July 8, 2008, a National Iranian Oil Company executive acknowledged in the Iranian press that, without significant investment in infrastructure, Iranian oil production would decline each year by 300,000 barrels a day. In the past month alone, Iranian workers have struck for unpaid wages at the Khodro automotive plant (which assembles Peugeots), the Alburz Tire Company, and the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane factory.

Symbol for Bush visit: Masada, Fraud and Myth
righthand
by righthand  4-11-2008    1
How ironic that the symbol of the Bush presidency will be his visit to Masada, a fraud and myth knowingly perpetuated by the government of Israel that will turn his presidency into a total fiasco and make America party to the fraud and corruption! ! !

Little Net Global Warming In The Past 70 Years
merrie
by merrie  12-13-2007
Derived from a large number of tree-ring density chronologies obtained from some 400 sites in the western United States, Canada, Europe, Fennoscandia and northern Siberia, this temperature record shows a dramatic departure from the instrumental temperature record over the last 70 years, with the instrumental record depicting dramatic 20th century warming, but with the tree-ring record showing nothing of the sort. It is very likely, therefore, that enhanced tree growth induced by the historical rise in the air's CO2 content - possibly augmented by enhanced nitrogen deposition (Idso, 1995) - has been increasing the growth rates of trees all around the world for over a century or more , Furthermore, this growth enhancement has been accelerating over time (Phillips and Gentry); and it is this ever-intensifying biological phenomenon that some are using to bolster their claim that the earth is warming at an ever-increasing rate, when such may not really be the case.

So you want to spy on your competitors. You want to know how well they are doing. (Who are your competitors? Your competitors are web sites that rank high on search engines for the keywords that you are also targeting). Well Alexa is the service which ranks web sites based basically on traffic (smaller numbers mean higher ranking). So here is a tool which will help you judge your SEO campaign against your competitors.

Another "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier"
Marcariel
by Marcariel  11-8-2007
I have visited here and seen the Liberty Bell and other historical sites and buildings. Somehow I missed seeing this place. I found it interesting that they had to search for the remains buried here among other graves of paupers and travelers. They finally found a mass grave site that was from the Revolutionary War ears and retrieved a body to put in the tomb.

The Mission Ruins in Rio Grande do Sul
Patty2007
by Patty2007  10-10-2007
If you saw the film "The Mission" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mission_%28film%29) with Robert De Nio, you can have an idea of this place. It´s a sad aprt of our History. "In 1570, treaty of Madrid ruled the reductions localized in the brazilian territory become property of the Portugal Kingdon. Natives didn´t accept and began the war called Guaranitical (from the word Guarani, native) Wars. Native resistence was coordinated by the native 'Sepe Tiaraju' and his historical slogan: "This land has an owner!". Although navites was victorious in the early begining the war against luso and hispanic troops due to knowledge of the terrain, more entusiasm and tactical mobility, the troops of the kingdon prevail due to technological superiorty and fire power." see more in the sites: http://rodrigomochileiro.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A3o_Miguel_das_Miss%C3%B5es
