POPSKenyan children abducted and terrorized- child soldiers and land conflicts ENDING OF ARTICLE: In the meantime, Kenya's land issues remain unresolved. And the powerful politicians that villagers and former fighters say lead the militia remain free. "The conflict in Mount Elgon is but the worst example of the poisonous relationship between Kenyan politics, land grievances and violence," said Ben Rawlence of New York-based Human Rights Watch. If the children are released, some can trace their families. Others have no parents left after murders by either the militia or the military. Peace and justice are far beyond the hopes of most families. Mothers say their ears still strain beyond the drumbeat of rain on a tin roof or wind rustling through cornstalks for the sounds of a vanished child's voice. Some scarred children will eventually limp home along the winding mountain trails. Others never will.

POPSbusiness cliches spoof letters from language pedants. One of them went like this: "Sir - Listening to my wireless, I heard a song with the chorus, 'She loves you yeah yeah yeah'. Later in the same song, insult was added to injury with yet another chorus, this time, 'She loves you yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah'. Whatever happened to that good old-fashioned word " yes"? What was even funnier than his column was the readers' response to it on the Telegraph website. Most of them had quite failed to notice that they were being laughed at, and seized on the opportunity to voice their own concerns over declining standards of modern English. One took issue with the preposition "on", wailing over its use in "on the weekend" and "on the team". Another despaired over "for free". A third deplored "different to".

POPSThe Web's Greatest Links Page Part II (Weblogs) I am still getting used to make links work or not on the clipper so if there is any confusion it is on my part. I wanted to add the disclaimer on the end as I have not had the slightest bit of time to examine even a tenth of what I clipped. Some may bee dead links and some may be a lot better if they were dead links. Proceed with your own caution.

POPSCanadian Human Rights Committee Under Investigation handles Section 13 complaints. So after years of lonely struggle they must be celebrating the motion to investigate the CHRC. Yet Ezra warns of the long road still ahead for Canadians trying to restore freedom of speech in their country: As Winston Churchill said after the breakthrough British victory at El Alamein, "this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal hearing on the Section 13 complaint against Maclean's magazine et al. begins on Monday in Vancouver. The Canadian Association of Journalists has formally applied for standing as an intervenor on behalf of Maclean's, but there is a dissenting voice. POPSSpirituality the adventure in seeking I have studied many religions, and do not belong to any. I have indeed found tremendous spirituality though. I am open I take what I hear, and if it feels right, if it resonates within my soul then I am inclined to adopt my own version of that train of thinking, I am one of Goddess faith, Mother nature, but I also have faith in say, Christ, whom I feel was a wonderful, loving example of a man I would love to be able to emenate in many ways, but that is perfection, from what I understand, and that ,( since I am human) is impossible. So I say go with your inner voice, your intuitive voice, that calls you, that guides you, if one follows this, I don't think you can fail, as a matter of fact you can't fail. Look at all the beauty around you, the mystery, the miracle of life, the feelings of joy, sadness, the whole human experience, there is something out there( defentley) bigger than us loving, mysterious, and all omnipresent.

POPSFrmr Congressman(R) Bob Barr for President (Libertarian) The Libertarians have a strong candidate, since Ron Paul declined to be their nominee. A great alternative who would stop the war and restore the Constitution and our liberties and roll back the size and scope of the Federal Leviathan that is devouring us and ruining our economy through heavy debt spending. This scares the neo-republicans, because now the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party will draw more votes from John McCain.

POPSBurma's Junta Counts Its Fake Votes, Millions In Peril
GRAPHIC PHOTO A US diplomat based in Rangoon claims the figure may be as high as 100,000 dead. The junta trumpeted what it claimed was a "massive turnout" in its constitutional referendum on Saturday, as thousands of tonnes of food, medical supplies and emergency relief specialists waited on tarmacs around the world for permission to enter the country. "Diarrhoea rates are very high in many of the affected townships; for children under five, diarrhoea is a disaster, adding, malaria and dengue were endemic to this region. United Nations agencies are concerned that there are hundreds of thousands of traumatised, injured people and that if they do not get medical treatment, they will die. Doctors in one hospital were treating up to 5000 outpatients a day, said Unicef's health chief in Rangoon. "They are exhausted. They are working long hours and they really need support. "They are full of patients and they cannot be treated properly due to a lack of human resources and drugs."

POPSWhat Would Reverend Jeremiah Wright Do? In an emotional testimony he tells the world how, as he was watching YouTube clips of the Reverend, a voice said "Follow this man." He then made his hajj to Chicago, joining Rev. Wright's congregation. Everyone is acepted under Jeremiah Wright's large tent as long as they accept a few simple dogmas and agree to repeat them five times a day during prayers: * Being White is immoral. Every White person is guilty of conspiring against the Blacks * Being rich is immoral. Every rich person is guilty of conspiring against the poor * America is the infamous product of conspiracy by rich White males to create the source of all evil. Later it turned even more evil under the rule of Zionist puppet masters. * Jesus was a homeless African-American male who fell victim to a conspiracy of the rich Whites against the poor Blacks that resulted in racial profiling, followed by torture and crucifiction * The 10 Commandments are optional.
