POPSBluehost : FTP speed First off, apologies if this has been asked 900 times but when I try to search the forums, I get an error that the search term ftp is too short or too common and therefore will be ignored. Sheesh.

POPSMilitary concerned for detainees' sanity Comments from brig personnel indicate fears for uncharged detainees' sanity; ignored by higher-ups. No charges were ever filed. The second has been five years in solitary confinement. Please don't say "They deserved it;" they have no more been charged with any crime than have you or I. Bush has no right to ruin their lives.

POPSLIHOP: Let It Happen On Purpose
(cont.)In effect, taking the hit on 9-11-2001 -- or more accurately, having several thousand innocent people take the hit -- would then allow a fanatical response, which would be politically acceptable to the American public. Thus the initiation of what might best be described as Bush Wars -- a variation of a theme of Oil Wars. An extremely credible and interesting article in this regard is by a member of the British Parliament, entitled The War on Terrorism is Bogus. This article has the advantage of basing its argument on what has been learned over the last two years -- but almost never publicized in the mainstream Media. In essence, it explains that the evidence is extremely convincing that the high level neo-conservatives in the US government were aware of the impending strike and took great pains to ensure that it was successfully accomplished. The latter includes making sure every member of the government was immediately unavailable to deal with the crisis as it unfolded o

POPSNo.1 of the Fannie Five - Chris Dodd The Center for Public Integrity criticized Dodd for “being the leading advocate in the Senate on behalf of the accounting industry.” Political consultant and commentator Dick Morris wrote that Dodd had received more from accounting firm Arthur Andersen than any other Democrat and bore responsibility for trying to shield accounting firms from investor fraud liability in cases such as the Enron scandal. Arthur Anderson was forced to surrender its license to conduct CPA business in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Dodd.

POPSPaulson, the bailout, much more reading stuff like this just makes me sick. i think it was very slick of the republicans to vote against the bill for long enough for wall street to fail so they could then justify voting for it as they wanted to do all along. sucks that we fell for it, or did we? well it got passed and our voices were once again ignored.

POPSSen Coburn Says Root Of The Problem Is Political Greed In Congress .....members of Congress chose to ignore the problem and distract themselves with unprecedented amounts of pork-barrel spending.” “Taxpayers who want to ensure that this doesn’t happen again should send a very clear message to Washington that it’s time for Congress to live within its means and restore the principles of limited government and free markets that made this country great. I will do everything in my power to ensure that this bill does not lead us down a slippery slope of European style socialism and slow economic growth. I will also promise taxpayers that I will do everything in my power to block what I expect will be hundreds of attempts by politicians in Washington to continue business-as-usual borrowing and spending in the next Congress. In a time of crisis, American families have to make hard choices between budget priorities. So should Congress."

POPSFederal sweep targeting illegal immigrants snares 1,150 statewide This reminds me of the failed US war against drugs. Arrest lots of folks at the street level, get on the 6 o'clock news, and leave the big fish profiting from exploiting economic immigrants free to go on fishing for greed driven profits. In the drug war brown and black young men in jail by hordes and money men go their merry way - Shades of the $700 billion bailout!

POPSAhmadinejad accepts Israel's right to exist Iran's president finally opens himself to the possibility of recognizing Israel's right to exist, and no one reports on it. I am no fan of this bastard, but when he makes threatening statements about Israel, his words make headlines. But when he starts to soften his stance, his words are ignored. Is this because the media is afraid to report anything positive about this man? And who are they afraid of upsetting?

POPSHaving Their Cake and Eating It Too From the article: "Let's imagine that the Alliance Defense Fund and its clerical clients were to persuade the Supreme Court to overturn the Johnson amendment's ban on political endorsements from the pulpit. At that point, what would prevent wealthy ideologues from making tax-exempt contributions to sympathetic pastors' churches for the express purpose of engaging in partisan electioneering? For that matter, what would prevent ambitious pastors from soliciting just such contributions and then using them to bind like-minded ministers into powerful political machines?"

POPSDoubling Your Strengths? However, the message is confusing. It says: To be successful, we need only half of our selves—our strengths. By redefining the concept of strengths, I have created a framework that describes all of the ways that a person can think, feel, and behave as strengths. How is it that we don't have weaknesses? We are so used to thinking in a positive-negative framework, which is a self-limiting way of thinking. So, it's almost natural that when we think about a strength we have, we immediately start looking for a negative, or a weakness. For example, if you see yourself in positive terms as outgoing and gregarious, you might think negatively about yourself when you are quiet and less expressive. I want you to see yourself not in terms of strengths and weaknesses but in terms of opposite strengths.

POPSAlliance Against Two Party Control (cont.)Calling together candidates from the liberal, conservative, libertarian and progressive constituencies, who are all opposed to this rigged process, was designed to alert the American people to the uselessness of continuing to support a process that a claims that one’s only choice is to choose the lesser of two evils and reject a principle vote that might challenge the status quo as a wasted vote. In both political education and organization, coalitions are worthwhile and necessary to have an impact. “Talking to the choir” alone achieves little. I have always approached political and economic education with a “missionary” zeal by inviting any group in on issues we agree upon.

POPSMcCain Supporter Takes Aim At Old Liberal Media Ayers, known for his work in the 1960s and ’70s with the violent radical left Weatherman Underground Organization, is now a university professor. Obama and Ayers were members of Woods Fund of Chicago and Ayers contributed $200 to Obama’s state legislative campaign. Wright, Obama’s former pastor, is openly critical of America and once said the United States brought on the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 with its own “terrorism.” “The coverage hasn’t been fair,” Cummings said.

POPSEarn Hundreds a Week as an Online Poker Prop Online Poker Props can earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars per week. The continuing emergence of poker has brought about an uncanny amount of competition amongst online poker rooms. In order to survive in the industry, online poker rooms have had to offer advantageous features to players who do battle on the online felt. One of the most notable additions has been the online version of what is known as a “prop”. A handful of online poker rooms have partly credited props for their positive growth and popularity. Because of this, brand-new online poker rooms have compensated props in an effort to achieve greater recognition. Suffice to say, the benefits of propping for online poker players cannot be ignored. Much as the online poker rooms need props to excel, dedicated online poker players will note that propping is an integral and almost necessary role in maintaining a positive bankroll.

POPSStatistical Ghost "Proves" Global Warming = A Political Hoax Ok, two days ago I published a report on the data called The All Important Blade of the Stick Uses Less Than 5% of the Data. This report detailed what I consider powerful evidence that Mann and his group may have intentionally manipulated data in creating this paper. I don’t say this lightly. It is very clear that the proxies, which no one is sure represent temperature, were in fact extended using questionable statistics and then correlated to demonstrate that they match measured temperature. The addition of an up slope to 90% of the data was pasted on according to less than 5% of the data. I am very suspicious that this 5% was chosen specifically because of its up slope in recent times. Think about that only 55 series determined the outcome of the majority of the 1209 series data!! http://noconsensus.wordpress.com/2008/09/18/the-all-important-blade-of-the-stick-uses-less-than-5-of-the-data/ IceCap.us/ http://icecap.us/

POPSTodd and Sarah Palin unchallenged in Fox interviews more: "Van Susteren made that strategy even more apparent during her embarrassing interview with Palin's husband, in which she seemed to morph into a cheerleader. Go Wasilla High Warriors! Go Todd!" "Todd, don't you know, helped build his own home! Flies his own float plane! Fishes for sockeye! Drives his snow machine 112 miles an hour! Palin somehow maintained his composure and dignity in the face of this frenetic new fan. At one point, perhaps trying to gently guide his interviewer toward a substantive question, he noted that he had worked to improve Alaska's vocational training programs. But Van Susteren, determined to treat her subject as Klondike Jack, ignored that segue into actual public policy. She sighed about the spectacular view from Todd's doorstep lake. "They love you here! They love you here!" Van Susteren fairly squealed, as the First Dude smiled sheepishly. "So that must be fun for you!""

POPSRedlining, Schmedlining !! Age-old standards of banking prudence got thrown out the window. In their place came harsh new regulations requiring banks not only to lend to uncreditworthy borrowers, but to do so on the basis of race. Despite warnings from GOP members of Congress in 1992, Clinton pushed extensive changes to the rules requiring lenders to make questionable loans. Lenders who refused would find themselves castigated publicly as racists.

POPSDisturbing Correlations This article brings up questions concerning Palin's religious associations and the philosophies they embrace. If a connection exists to one of the far right organizations mentioned it should be scrutinized and brought to light. The last thing we need is a Dominionist in the White House. See past clips about Joel's Army for more info.

POPSAnother veteran being ignored For all those who accept verbatim, the meaningless drivel from worthy charities, perhaps should take heed of what charity workers are saying. High powered executive with their enormous salaries and mammoth pensions, and comfortable offices in London, are completely out of touch with the realities of modern Britain and the strains on disabled veterans. Eddie Rawlinson is a honorary member of Blackpool Royal Marines Association and I can lay ever pfennig I ever had that not a single person from that Charity has been in touch with his family. So much for being a CHARITY. I bet their secretary does not miss a photo call on his way to becoming another toothless member of parliament.

POPSPelosi Delivers Americans Her Poison Bill
This is the only plan that would allow the American taxpayers to receive the full $2.6 trillion in lease payments, royalties and corporate taxes that some estimate will be generated from full exploration of the OCS. But the all-of-the-above plan does not end there. It also opens up the 10.3 billion barrels of oil estimated to be in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. A 2007 study by the University of California estimated that leases and royalties from ANWR would generate $251 billion in government and state revenue — and that was assuming a barrel of oil cost $53. Oil opens at $102 a barrel today. Alternative energy is not ignored either. The Republican plan also attempts to improve energy conservation with tax credits for businesses and families who purchase more fuel-efficient vehicles. Barriers to the revival of the nuclear power industry are removed, and the tax credits for renewable energy (including but not limited to wind, solar and hydrogen) are part of the plan.

POPSRussia Halts Trading After 17% Share Price Fall The liquidity crisis is being caused by a crisis of confidence in which people are frightened to borrow and frightened to lend.” Shares in Russia’s biggest state-controlled banks led the slide with Sberbank, the state-controlled savings bank, closing 21.72 per cent down and VTB losing 29.26 per cent. The bank was suffered on investor fears about its securities portfolio, which makes up about 10 per cent of its assets. Crude sinks as traders await Opec decision September 10 2008 Ahead of yesterday's meeting in Vienna, Opec members remained divided over whether to reduce production, with Iran supporting a cut while Kuwait expressed opposition to any move. Ali Naimi, Saudi Arabia's oil minister, said the oil market was "fairly well balanced", which some traders interpreted as a signal that a formal production cut was unlikely. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/12983a2e-7ed0-11dd-b1af-000077b07658.html?nclick_check=1

POPSBlowback Over McCain Campaign of Lies Growing It's usually the case that the media goes with "telling both sides of the story" reporting that doesn't bother to separate the truth from the fiction. But McCain's lying is so over the top, so constant, and so shameless, that it's become a story in itself that can't be ignored. And you can't report that story without reporting the lies. Bad day for John McCain.
