POPS The Chicken Or the State Road? As we were coming back home yesterday from mowing grass on our farm, I was chilling out and I didn't even notice that we passed a chicken pecking in the ditch. Suddenly, under his breath my husband says: "Chicken is cleaning the ditch better than the state road" Now, I dunno why, but this remark struck me as insanely funny and I couldn't stop laughing. You probably have to live in this state to get the joke, but regardless, laughter is so good for the soul isn't it?

POPSBloggers Pushing Wes Clark Back to the Forefront What Clark said - that McCain has no experience in national security decision-making - is absolutely true, and it's a point that needs emphasis repeatedly and effectively by someone who can deliver it. Clark has a 34 year service record, has won a war, commanded troops all over the world, and nearly died of his injuries in Vietnam. He has run for President and been a surrogate for hundreds of Democrats all over the country, including Ned Lamont. He was against the war in Iraq, and knows the military bureaucracy inside and out. This is someone who would make an insanely good Vice President, and someone who has deep connections to the newly formed progressive communities that emerged from 2002-2006. Senator Obama would do well to choose Clark as his running mate.

POPSCongress: No airplane cellphone calls Just a few problems. First, just because you turn off your cell phone for calls doesn't mean the camera doesn't still work. Second, if those loud and obnoxious people can't talk on the phone, isn't anyone worried that they will talk to you? Third, what about all the other loud and obnoxious behaviors one encounters on a plane? Will they ban babies next? Fourth, the first paragraph of the story said that cell phones are dangerous on planes, where is the evidence of that? And finally, are they going to extend the ban to those insanely expensive phones you can currently use on planes? Or are only the well to do allowed to be obnoxious on the phone?

POPSRussia Threatens Military Response to US Missile Deal The Bush regime has insanely reignited the Cold War that Reagan ended! If you were Russia (and read the neocon blueprints for global hegemony) you would see this US-Czech missile deal is clearly designed to circle the wagons around NATO against both Russia and Iran, which will force Russia and Iran to ally...which is a recipe for potential world war! Tell me how this is different than Kruschev setting up missiles in Cuba which sparked the Cuban Missile Crisis when JFK was president. Putin is right, "Provocatory" isn't it?
