POPSA Dog Named Faith This is the inspiring story, with movie clip, of Faith, a friendly, loving dog born handicapped with her front legs extremely short. Consequently, she had to learn to walk solely on her two back legs. She's an inspiration to all who see her. Enjoy the clip from Oprah Winfrey's TV show.

POPSWhatever the history of Desiderata, the Ehrmann's prose is inspirational, and offers a simple positive credo for life. The common myth is that the Desiderata poem was found in a Baltimore church in 1692 and is centuries old, of unknown origin. Desiderata was in fact written around 1920 (although some say as early as 1906), and certainly copyrighted in 1927, by lawyer Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) based in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Desiderata myth began after Reverend Frederick Kates reproduced the Desiderata poem in a collection of inspirational works for his congregation in 1959 on church notepaper, headed: 'The Old St Paul's Church, Baltimore, AD 1692' (the year the church was founded). Copies of the Desiderata page were circulated among friends, and the myth grew, accelerated particularly when a copy of the erroneously attributed Desiderata was found at the bedside of deceased Democratic politician Aidlai Stevenson in 1965.

POPSThe Daffodil Principle For the past 10 years or so, the story of "The Daffodil Principle" begins to circulate at this time of year. This is one of the most inspirational stories I've ever read. It deserves to be read and to be passed along! Please "pop" it, and "Pay it Forward" -- tell 3 or more people about this great story.

POPSRachel Corrie's Sory of Standing Up to an Israeli Bulldozer Check out the video of the song....a very sad yet inspirational story of a 23-yr-old American woman who died defending Palestinians being pushed off their homes. Israeli Apartheid is an ugly secret not given much play in American Media, for obvious reasons.

POPSMiniature Bag End - Inspirational
To bring a fictional world only viewed by the mind to life is usually thought to be possible only by movie crews funded by large production companies -- the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Chronicles of Narnia come first to mind -- but people like Obelia medusa (from LiveJournal) prove that ingenuity, creativity and sheer will power can make virtually anything possible. I stumbled across this LiveJournal entry months ago and still find myself revisiting it to view the intricate details of such a wonderful and amazing project. I truly admire her for her dedication to complete such a project. I can only imagine the amount of time, work and effort that went into planning, researching, finding and buying supplies, and constructing such an amazing miniature recreation of Bilbo and Frodo's Bag End. I have clipped only a handful of the volume of photos from Obelia medusa's post. Please visit her page for more images. The story and in-progress photographs are also linked from her post.

POPSwe are nothing but the stories we tell ourselves You owe no allegiance to that self-image if it harms you. If you don't like the story your life has become — tell yourself a better one. Think about the person you want to be and do what that person would do. Act the way that person would act. Amazingly enough, once you start acting like that person, people will start treating you like that person.

POPSHow to Live in Peace & Harmony More... And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. Max Ehrmann, Desiderata, Copyright 1952.

POPSWoman Chosen To Lead Harvard "They didn't want anybody with administrative experience," he said. "They wanted an inspirational leader, a political symbol, a decent person that everybody could feel good about to help them do what the presidents do best."

POPSYou Win, Daddy! This happened to me today. I have been somewhat absent from clipmarks of late (thanks GD for noticing!) but I thought I would share this from my own website. Hope it brightens your day, like it did mine. There is more to the post. I tried to make it popable--not sure if I succeeded.

POPSIn the Name of Honor: Mukhtar Mai I could hardly hold the tears in the bookstore while reading Nicholas Kristof's introduction in this book. This is an exceptional and unbelievable story from the remote village of Pakistan. I hope this book does well.
