Google: Cookies Are Complicated
Andy Greenberg
by Andy Greenberg  4-22-2008
Google has a growing tendency to make flashy announcements that draw press and then let their ideas stagnate and disappear. Looks like they may be doing the same with an element of their search privacy solution.

The Coming Ad Revolution
wildcat
by wildcat  2-12-2008
This approach (called behavioral targeting and already in service by ad networks that track users through so-called tracking cookies) undercuts traditional online publishers, who employ content to lure users and to sell adjacent ads. Now, the ISPs can sell advertisers direct access to the same users.

Super Tuesday Primary - in London
mickfinn
by mickfinn  2-6-2008
UK-based Democrats have turned out in central London to vote for their choice of presidential candidate. The expats participated in what the party has described as its "global primary". Alongside contests in the US on Super Tuesday, supporters in 34 countries have been voting by post, fax, the internet and in person at town halls, pubs, churches and other venues. With the race between Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama increasingly close, the expat vote could prove crucial in deciding who gets the Democratic Party nomination. Bill Barnard, chairman of Democrats Abroad UK, said the overseas vote could turn out to be significant if the race goes to the wire.

Another report circulating on the Internet suggested however that Santa's sleigh, weighed down with presents and travelling at supersonic speed, would encounter such massive air resistance that the entire contraption would burst into flames and be vaporised within 4.26 thousandths of a second.
