POPSPurified urine to be astronauts' drinking water I thought there was a problem with purification processes not being able to eliminate hormones. On a lighter side, if they practised a certain form of yoga, they would not have to purify all of it, just keep their own for cortisone.

POPSDying to get back to this incredible place I am in no way affiliated to Yelapa or Casa's de Isabel. I am very much in love with this space and it's people. Isabel, California native, has been a part of the Yelapa community for over 40 years. She is only one of the very few who have been privileged to visit with the indigenous Huichol Indians. This entire area is also known for the many celebrities that also have been entranced by the overwhelming beauty and serenity. For movie buffs check out remember "Night of the Iguana" with Richard Burton, Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr? It was filmed not far from here: http://www.virtualvallarta.com/puertovallarta/puertovallarta/aboutpuertovallarta/picture-perfect-the-histo.shtml. Casa Isabel is located on "The Point," is quiet, and just a ten minute walk from the markets and restaurants in the village. The entire property overlooks a seasonal stream, with two waterfalls running through the canyon.

POPSNot Hobbits after all “Some of the traditional stories of the local people may be an ancient memory of an otherwise forgotten time, when cretins were a common part of the human population on Flores”

POPSIs the hobbit just a dwarf cretin ? It did live on an island Flores in Indonesia, and seaweed and seawater are high in Iodine, but giant rats, dwarf elephants, and Komodo Dragons also lived on the island. They may have eaten all of the seafood before the hobbits got any. Maybe we'll never know. Evolution does have millions of curious threads. I'm sure many people forget that while we have made it so far, Evolution hasn't stopped, and technology may give it some more curious twists which are directly related to us. If two machines get together and produce viable offspring, will that be a new species? Our definition of 'life' is in need of an overhaul. (Perhaps a bit beside the point, but it will be another one of our 'relatives') I was just reminded of something Mark Twain once said that applies to a point. "It's not change I'm against, it's change for change's sake" Let's hope we improve.
