POPSHoder's Arrest/2 In my view, the most comprehensive reports on Hoder's detention so far: Tehrani's for Global Voices Advocacy and Zarwan's on his own blog, The Skeptic.

POPSDon't Defend Religion By Silencing Free Speech Islamic nations are continuing to push for banning criticism of religion in the UN. They are trying to make blasphemy and international crime. This is a very good article on why, allowing this, would be a bad thing.

POPSSomali Islamists vs. Pirates You will not see this report on ABC, nor along side headlines that Blackwater is beginning to get into the counter-pirate business. This is a public perception breaker, which shatters the carefully created mythology that somehow Islamic terrorists are involved with the pirates.

POPSAbout the "Al Qaeda" Message to Obama, Too Convenient It was timely propaganda, but for who? CLG traces the timeline news reports of al-Zawahiri which demonstrates that the new "audio message" (faithfully shown by the MSM in Video format to American audience) should be held in skepticism since the death of "No. 2 Al Qaeda" leader has been reported previously, and the timeliness of these reports fits too well with neocon propaganda purposes, more than the alleged (and invisible) terrorists which billion-dollar military and spy agencies are unable to find. To do this subject justice go to the source of the clip to see the full reports and commentary laid out.

POPSWill Taliban denounce terror? With their teachers now coming out against terrorism, will the Taliban in Pakistan or Afghanistan follow suit? Madani is unsure. But he wants senior clerics from the eight member states of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to come together to debate whether to endorse the Deobandi decree. "I don’t know what will say," Madani said. "But my intention is that this issue must be debated. I am trying to bring together the ulema and muftis from all SAARC countries in India. Then I will request them to endorse this decree."

POPSal qaeda doesn't like the President-Elect al-zawahiri: "It appears that you don't know anything about ... the history of Afghanistan and its free and defiant Muslim people," he said. "And be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them."

POPSThe Answer Terrifies Them Foreign terrorism against Americans would disappear along with the need for a "war on terror." Civil liberties that were suspended could be restored. A sense of balance and harmony could return to our lives. Ending interventionism would mean that the era of big government in foreign affairs could be brought to an end.

POPS Obama's Summary Of Issues Agenda ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ who attacked us on 9/11~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I am not reassured. And dare we ask - does Obama have a plan for finishing US involvement in Kosovo? POPSGerman equivalent of Mi5 & the FBI puts Scientology in the same category as Islamic extremists tl;dr Scientology is very fucking dangerous. And creepy. And scary. Why can't the police just handle Scientology? It's because the cult are known for courting corrupt police officers and public officials. (google 'Kevin Hurley + Scientology' to see how they've been giving gifts to a certain London police chief superintendent) (click on the link next to the paperclip to go straight to the German site. It's in English)

POPSThe Islamist Role in the 2008 Canadian Elections Hashmi runs an Islamic school for girls. Hashmi wears a full niqab (face covering) and encourages young girls to emulate her. She is known for promoting a very conservative Islamic ideology that is based on Wahhabism. She, like other Islamists is in favor of Sharia in Canada. The results of the Canadian election were an eye-opener because all Muslim candidates from all parties lost, with the exception of Yasmin Ratansi, who for some time has been trying to distance herself from her Muslim identity Most ordinary Canadians, well-meaning and decent folks, are fed up with demands for unreasonable accommodation and are no longer willing to put up with politics disguised as religion in the public sphere. Of course, the usual suspects are already screaming Islamophobia - again. There is no rampant Islamophobia in Canada - only an attempt at gradual Islamization.
