POPSHope for Change? Bush may speak of al Qaeda, perhaps of "Islamofascism," and others he'll accuse of brutality, while contrasting their ideology with a vision he claims to have of peace, liberty, prosperity. But the U.S. government differs not from those extremist groups who use violence to further their causes, for ours is a government which also uses unjustified violence or the intimidating threat thereof to advance its own agenda. The US... has become like the rogue states it takes pride in condemning. Our military is not used to defend our freedom any longer, it is used to enforce an evil interventionist foreign policy. I do believe this empire will eventually end. The choice is between ending it voluntarily by choosing peace and bringing our troops home from all over the world, or its demise out of necessity from economic and human suffering in America. To save lives, rather than a "liberation" of Iraq, the world needs liberation from American imperialism.

POPSMalaysiakini: Zulkifli defends his action at Bar forum Juxtapose what YB Zulkifli says in this article with the various scenes we've seen via YouTube, there seems to be some serious disconnect. Whether he likes it or not, realizes it or not, Islamization affects EVERY Tom, Dick and Harry in the nation...

POPSBush: No more Islamist jihads. Obliterated are jihadists, mujahideen, Islamofascist. So no more "glamorising terrorism, or imbues terrorists with religious authority they do not have and so damaging relations with Muslims around the world." Pity he didn't realize this BEFORE he sullied America's name in the Muslim world. Bit late now to smell the grass. You might expect to know what you should call your Muslim friends now. Well 'the memo warns: "Don't compromise our credibility" by using words and phrases that may ascribe benign motives to terrorists' but no useful info for the few neocon clippers. I expect it'll be back to swiftboating now.

POPS 'End the War in 2009' February 20, 2008 The Nation
General David Petraeus will be testifying in Washington that the conditions are improving in Iraq and that the United States must "stay the course." Petraeus will be acting as a de facto surrogate for McCain in domestic politics. Obama will have to respond to the general's serious claims without retreating from the commitment he has given to early withdrawal. The questions of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan could intensify as a symbol of America's current policies towards terrorism. McCain has already absorbed both neoconservative doctrines and the neoconservatives themselves in his campaign against "Islamo-fascism" as the greatest threat in American history. They will attack Obama for proposing to pull the plug on Iraq just when the tide is turning. They will question Obama's experience in pushing for diplomacy towards Iran, draw him out on why he favors more troops in Afghanistan and a pre-emptive strike against Pakistan if there is "actionable intelligence."

POPSA Worldview Destroying America
History Repeats Itself - many of these you can replace the word "Israel" with "America" and "Jerusalem" with "city" and gain much insight - where we are and were we are headed. Ezekiel 22:25-28"There is a conspiracy of her prophets in her midst like a roaring lion tearing the prey. They have devoured lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in the midst of her. 26 "Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the profane, and they have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they hide their eyes from My sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 "Her princes within her are like wolves tearing the prey, by shedding blood and destroying lives in order to get dishonest gain. 28 "Her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord God,' when the Lord has not spoken.

POPSHuckabee - Theocrat wannabe So, he's lying about his qualifications, and deluding himself that he knows what "this war on terror" is about. AND he thinks fighting fire with fire is a good idea, too.

POPSThe Wildly Swinging Pendulum Paul also stated, “One of my heros in the way that he acted was Dr. Martin Luther King…and Ghandi as well.” Once again, they attack Dr. Paul and he humbly and kindly highlights peaceful ends to the means. Well, as Ghandi said, first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Ron Paul is the light in the dark…he is darkhorse candidate of 2007, and he is on track for the being the darkhorse candidate of 2008. I cannot begin to imagine what those neocons would have said in regard to the founding fathers and their "radical" ways toward freedom! And the Boston Tea Party would have been called a terroristic act by same.

POPS Evil Unchecked Grows Evil Tolerated Poisons
The enemy uses children as human bombs, mothers as suicide bombers, men driven by the glory of death and the promise of eternal sexual bliss in heaven...and martyrdom on earth. This is the enemy reality: murder and death of "infidels" by any means for the glory of Allah. The American Congress for Truth (ACT) was formed in June 2002. Our Members Include: Jews, Arabs, Christians, and non-Muslims from all backgrounds both secular and religious, liberals and conservatives. These good people have put their differences aside to combat both anti-American and anti-Israel propaganda masquerading as anti-Imperialism and anti-Zionism: in the Western media among the intellectual elite on American college campuses in churches, synagogues and other places of worship in business groups and civic meetings wherever it exists America defeated communism-- it is time to stare down the evil of religious bigotry and intolerance. Many times in history, citizens have done nothing...and evil

POPSCongressional Paul Revere Warns Nation About Islamofascist Threat Thank goodness. I wish more people would become educated and not have to learn a disastrous national lesson the hard way. The illustration of the innocent frog in the slowly heated water comes to mind. The signs are all around us. Naive Americans believe they are exempt from the terrors and destruction that swept away other great nations.

POPSGiuliani Does Vegas, Talks Up Televangelist Support
This article is almost humorous, if it wasn't so serious. The juxtaposition of "Godfather" Giuliani stumping in Las Vegas, with key "business leaders" (why does this seem like Mafia to me?) crows about his endorsement from a televangelist, Pat Robertson. Just another example of how Rudy USES religion as a cloak! Indeed, Robertson and him do share values: i.e. lying, corruption, love of money, untrustworthiness, and love of power at any price. Hopefully this will discredit Robertson, the false-prophet, too. So Rudy bought himself an evangelical priest (watch third party donations from New York come into the 700 club) to cover his many sins--serial adultery included. He calls all this "not being perfect" and the "complexity of human nature". The article also mentions that he admits that talk of Islamo-fascism might be an "exaggeration"; well almost admits it. And then he talks about government spending being worst problem (from an "exaggerated" need for war). He rates a 0 o

POPSNeo-Cons on Iran: From Ignorant to downright Insane This is a worthy article in general - one of the better ones you'll see fro Krugman (although it is still annoyingly conversational, at least he isn't Maureen Dowd!) He makes a good point: that fear is what our leaders embrace, not courage. I'm sick and tired of Americans who are scared. I for one am not scared of terrorists, and anyone who lives their life in fear is an idiot. (Probably a manipulated idiot.) But the real gem is when Krugman calls it like it is on Iran. Podhorertz and others like him have departed so far from reality that they are basically making things ups as they go along. I expect next that Commentary will be linking Iran to Voldemort, Darth Vader, and the Dark Lord Sauron. They are so blatantly disconnected from reality, and yet, people listen to them! That's the part I don't understand. Even a student in a High School Social Studies class should be able to tell you the difference between Iran and Al Qaeda.
