POPSThe return of The Wall? Time will tell, but this certainly does not look like "change" and gives me no "hope". This is just the same ol' same ol'...just older. We've been hearing for the last 8 yrs. about the failed policies of the Bush Administration; well, what about the failed policies of the Clinton one? Does America want them back to pick up where they left off....with HELP? If this is someone's idea of "change" they need to check their dictionaries.

POPSWho Would Be A Good Pick For AG? How About That Woman. . . . .
who erected the "wall" between the CIA & FBI? uh, NO!!! pointing to her experiences at both Fannie Mae and the Sept. 11 commission." To that, my response is to jump up and down with both hands waving frantically as I shout, "Damned right we are! Damned right!" Short of appointing an actual member of al Qaeda, I cannot imagine a more offensive symbolic repudiation of the Global War on Terror — nor a more enthusiastic embrace of the chronic mismanagement, cronyism, and graft which led to this fall's credit crisis — than the appointment of Jamie Gorelick as attorney general. When Obama choose an amoral, souless Hard Left hitman like Rahm Emanuel to be his chief of staff, I was willing to grant that such is his right for such a position, and I didn't even grumble. Indeed, because Emanuel is likely to be effective in doing his principal's wishes, that simply means that Barack Obama himself can be held strictly accountable for his administration's successes and fai

POPSWhen thoughts of death turn to environmentalism "It appears that certain people derive existentially important feelings of self-esteem from pro-environmental behaviour and thus respond to concerns about mortality with increased concern for the well-being of the natural world," the researchers said. "These self-esteem investments can thus transform the protection of the natural world into an existentially relevant behaviour which can similarly function to mitigate concerns with our vulnerability to death."

POPS The "Great Wall Street Heist" of 2008 Reagan added: “I hope John McCain will not shrink from pointing the finger of blame where it belongs – at Barack Obama, who fed greedily at the trough of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while their top people, including two of his own campaign associates, were flim-flamming the American people. It’s a Democratic scandal from beginning to end, and the American people deserve to know it.”

POPSShine "Light Of Scrutiny & Accountability” On The Nation’s Financial System Pelosi said,“We want to take our country in a new direction for the middle class.” Something else that should be looked into: Barney Frank’s relationship with a former Fannie executive named Herb Moses. Frank told reporters Friday that starting in January, Congress will “have a major role.” “We have to rewrite housing in America. … It would be highly irresponsible if we were to stop here,” he said. “Now we have to perform more serious reform.” Yet, she mentions nothing about the accountability of people like Sen. Chris Dodd, or Franklin Raines or Jamie Gorelick, the latter two having made millions off of Fannie while the organization itself was sliding into government conservatorship.

POPSThe Real Culprits - Part Two The Clinton-era corruption, combined with unprecedented catering to affordable-housing lobbyists, resulted in today's nationalization of both Fannie and Freddie, a move that is expected to cost taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.

POPSEthically Bankrupt Virtually all the mistakes have been caused by errors in regulation — not by "corporate greed," as liberal Democrats would have it. Corporations follow the signals and guidelines set by Washington. When those are faulty, bad things happen and taxpayers pay. Remember this, too, when Congress cranks up hearings and vilifies one CEO after another for "looting" their companies. It was Congress that created the subprime crisis. Any promises that it makes to solve it should be viewed with serious skepticism. Dirksen would have been impressed. By our count, that's about $2 trillion, or 14%, of a $14 trillion economy. How did it happen? One case after another has been made for intervention in the private economy, based on the principle that some private-sector financial institutions, such as Bear Stearns and AIG, are "too big to fail." If they did fail, it would lead to a financial market catastrophe — or what the Fed on Wednesday referred to as "disorderly failure."

POPSThe Real Culprits In The Meltdown The untold story in this whole national crisis is that President Clinton put on steroids the Community Redevelopment Act, a well-intended Carter-era law designed to encourage minority homeownership. Yes, the market was fueled by greed and overleveraging in the secondary market for subprimes, vis-a-vis mortgaged-backed securities traded on Wall Street. But the seed was planted in the ’90s by Clinton and his social engineers. They were the political catalyst behind this slow-motion financial train wreck. As soon as Clinton crony Franklin Delano Raines took the helm in 1999 at Fannie Mae looting it for a total of almost $100 million in compensation by the time he left in early 2005 under an ethical cloud. Other Clinton cronies, including Janet Reno aide Jamie Gorelick "The Wall", padded their pockets to the tune of another $75 million. Raines was accused of overstating earnings and shifting losses so he and other senior executives could earn big bonuses.

POPSSexual Predators Living Near Universities Certain sexual predators should be in jail for life. Others, an innocent 17 year old having sex with someone who is 16 sort of thing. A lot of these students entering university still appear like they did in high school, and as such may fall prey to these predators. More needs to be done to protect them, no matter if it creates "different problems" for them or not; they did not have a an issue with causing problems for the victim, why should I care if we cause problems for them now?

POPSPalin Has Chosen to Exploit Her Own Daughter's Pregnancy I am disgusted by the way Governor Palin has thrown her 17-year-old pregnant daughter under the bus for political gain. She is exploiting her daughter's misfortune in order to use her to make her anti-abortion point to the extreme right-wing of the Republican party. This woman should be removed from the ticket for abusing her child in this manner.

POPSTyler, Texas: Pedophile Ring Member Sentenced To Life In Prison Four of the five child victims in the case have also testified. All of them identified Kelly, whom they know as "Booger Red," as being part of a group of adults that forced them to perform sex acts for a paying audience. Shauntel Mayo and her live-in boyfriend, Jamie Pittman, have been convicted and sentenced to life in prison and face additional charges in the case. Dennis Pittman, his ex-wife Rebecca Pittman, Shelia Darlene Sones, who is Ms. Mayo's mother, and Ms. Sones' ex-husband Jimmy Dale Sones await trials for the alleged sexual abuse of the children.
