How to buy used cars from Japanese car auctions?
seikhsadi
by seikhsadi  7-7-2008    1
We can find high quality Japanese used vehicles at Japanese Used Car Auctions at very low prices. However, most used car buyers believe that the process of buying a used car from these auctions is very difficult. The President of Shiotsu Autotrade in Japan, explains in this post the correct buying procedure to demystify the myth.

Houston's "New" Chinatown
Rustee
by Rustee  1-12-2008    2
I think this may be immigration at its finest. They're achieving their "American dreams" through sharing their cultures, but still being diversified, which in the end benefits us all. So what would work as a visual symbol for the new Chinatown? How could you depict a place that's pan-Asian, old and new, united mainly by entrepreneurial zeal?" "Personally, I hope the winner is a gate: a gate big enough to drive a car through, on a street that seems paved with money.

Tata Reveals World's cheapest car

Said to look like a mango, at the presentation, it was driven on stage It is also said to be a transport solution for India (and another oil market.), The 'Austere' version comes with no radio, air conditioning, one windscreen wiper. (Why does the passenger need to know where they're going?) and no side mirror (In India a side mirror would be knocked off easily. There are fears by environmentalists of an acceleration of the pollution problem, but there is no reason the principle can't be applied to an eco friendly model. The road rules in India are noted for their practicality. Apart from the fact that Elephants, and Cows are given the right of way, the right of way is given in order of size. Train, truck, car,Tata Nano, bicycle, pedestrian. Pedestrians and cyclists need to be careful. Parking would be a night mare. They just need to design a vertical parking lot where the cars are left, and stacked on a shelf until the driver returns. I saw a Japanese idea like this in a clip

Car makers abandon petrol for electricity
Wadard
by Wadard  10-25-2007
This is a big shift in our energy balance. With car manufacturers desperately trying to "counter a backlash" against the fuel guzzlers, by capitalising on the run away success of Toyota's Prius, they are articulating their solution to emissions problems, a flick pass to the electricity providers. Bob Lutz, GM of Product Planning puts it bluntly, "If people want an electric car, we can deliver it. Now go and get your electricity from a clean source." The implications are huge. If we plug 'er in, rather than fill 'er up, then what was once a petrol station will become a local area green electricity generator. All because the market demands it. Oil companies will lose their mainstream passenger vehicle market, but sell their oil to plastics manufacturers, which keeps the carbon sequestered.

China might produce too many cars
Amergin
by Amergin  9-12-2007    2
Just think of this phrase for a second. “The auto industry in China has the capacity of producing more than 10 million cars every year." Ten million cars, at the turn of the last century America was the worlds leading producer of mass production. This helped America to become a world power and helped to defeat the superior craftsmanship of the German and Japanese war Industry. Now China is moving into that position and we will soon see a rising Asian power. Superior technology does not always win the war, couple that fact with an enemy with superior production capacity and a standing army of over 1.4 million men and you can see the future. Never mind the pollution factor.
