POPSIs Geert Wilders A Fascist? Was unaware that he tried to ban the Koran, headscarves, etc. From what I had heard of Wilders, he wanted European countries to stick to their own laws and constitutions and not allow for sharia law. This is now on many sites, it is really pretty amusing to read the comments. As it was described to me in an e-mail from a friend who linked the story, "Wingnuts heads are exploding!" Lol!

POPSTime: National Front drawing immigrant support The only evidence Time has to support this claim: A National Front politician who is of Algerian descent and an informant named "Habiba" who says ethnic minorities in her neighborhood are voting for Le Pen (the leader of the National Front). I am not an expert on France, but I do know that Le Pen is an out-and-out racist, and I am extremely skeptical that he attracts a significant proportion of French ethnic minorities.

Philippe Ridet

POPSClaims Of Le Pen Allying w/ Muslims Are False Le Pen is leader of the far-right French political party Front National. He is both anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic. Doug Ireland says that the New York Sun's claims of Le Pen allying with Muslims (presumably against Jews) are bunk. "'Claiming that Le Pen could get 'many' Muslim votes, as the Sun does, is equivalent to having pretended that George Wallace could get a lot of black votes in Harlem,' sneers a friend at Radio France..."
