POPSU.S. Forces Attack Inside Syria for First Time
This article, from the UK, supported this attack. Maybe this makes good grounds for discussion. One thing, right away, jumped out at me was the last sentence in the clip here saying one reason for this was to break Syria away from Iran and encourage Syria into peace talks with Israel. #1: All decades of so-called 'peace talks,' involving Israel are false, a charade. They say peace, they expand their settlements (the main Arab gripe). Again, they say peace, they expand their settlements, etc., etc., etc. #2: Maybe this was OK? Maybe not? Maybe there was another way to handle it? #3: Very interesting how from the very first English colony in the so-called New World, the English had conflicts with Native Americans. The first tribe they wiped out was not the direct enemy, but a tribe they accused of 'not doing enough to stop this enemy." Same we say about Iran now. Same we say about Syria.Pakistan. What? We want them to fight our wars we start in their backyard? Or a

POPSPalin and George Wallace Palin courts racism by using Wallace's rhetoric. Makes a good point that counterculture of 60's bears no resemblance to Islamic jihadists.

POPSDistrict Judge Orders Release Of Uighur Jihadists In D.C. By Friday
This is the very nightmare scenario I warned about. The courts' steps are outrageous, but predictable and inevitable. A lot of the blame here, however, goes to the administration and the military. They have long taken the position that radical Islamic ideology is not the problem, and that we need only worry about actively those taking up arms against the United States. They don't want us to talk about jihad — the better to keep us in the dark about jihadist ideology. Thus, the government rationalizes, the Uighurs are not a threat to us, only to the Chinese. That was all the daylight the judges need to say: OK, then release them in the U.S., since no other country — except China, where they'd be persecuted — will take them. The government's self-defeating argument is preposterous. Jihadists — and there is not question that the Uighurs are jihadists — do not recognize distinctions based on the Westphalia world of nation-states.

POPSTaliban in secret peace talks with Afghan government Last week, the French Prime Minister, Franois Fillon, referred indirectly to the talks during a parliamentary debate on Afghanistan. “We must explore ways of separating the international Jihadists from those who are acting more for nationalist or tribal motives. Efforts in this direction are being led by Sunni countries such as Saudi Arabia,î he said. Late last year Karzai said he would welcome the chance to speak directly to Hikmatyar and to Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban’s leader and one of the most wanted men in the world, promising that if the Taliban demanded a ìdepartment in this or in that ministry or a position as deputy ministerî in exchange for ending violence, he would give them the posts. Previously, Taliban spokesmen have said that only the departure of foreign troops, the institution of a fiercely rigorous interpretation of Sharia law and a share of government would be acceptable to them as the basis for any deal.

POPSYemen a refuge for Al-Qaeda? Hmmmm. How can we invade Yemen plus have enough forces left to fight our Iraq and Afghanistan wars as well as invade Iran? And what about all those other countries that harbor terrorists? (I'm just talking of course of the terrorists we currently disapprove of and are not supporting of course.) I guess the problem we have in this country is we don't spend enough on our military to be able to be attacking all these places at once. Ooops, I forgot, we are many trillions in debt. But no big deal, Congress are experts at spending money they don't have. They even spend money our grand kids of the future don't have!

POPSWill Al-Qa'eda's American-Born Propaganda Chief Make 9/11 DVD? Western intelligence sources in Pakistan believe that al-Qa'eda's prize American recruit and propaganda chief may have been killed in a CIA-directed airstrike. Evan Kohlmann, an investigator with the Nine Eleven Finding Answers (Nefa) foundation which monitors terrorist groups, said: "Al-Qaeda acknowledges that several of its leaders have been taken out. There aren't that many experienced leaders left in the middle ranks and they are being replaced by younger guys with no credentials but lots of enthusiasm." Watch video: 4:16

POPSWorld’s Gutter Governments To Sit In Judgment Over U.S. Human Rights Record However, even in other highly advanced English speaking nations such as Australia and Canada, these offences can be defined in such a way as “disparaging” a religion. This can consist of claiming that the doctrines of your faith are superior to that of another sect under consideration such as in the case of a Canadian ministry that pointed out the shortcomings of the Watchtower Society and in the case of McClean’s Magazine where those pointing out the intentions of radical Islamists have been sued for racial defamation but no action has been taken against the aspiring Jihadists wanting to kill people. Frankly, one could spend several lifetimes rifling through the human rights records of many of the nations on the U.N. Humans Rights Council and still not have the time to air America’s dirty laundry which is nothing more than a single used piece of toilet paper when compared to these cesspool countries.

POPSWhich Hindsight Is 20-20? Hindsight isn't always 20-20, particularly in wartime, when early expectations of an easy rout can give way to an unexpectedly long and bloody grind - and when victory has so often been achieved only after persevering through strategic debacles, intelligence failures, and wrenching battlefield losses.

POPSCivil War Breaking Out Amongst Pak Taliban Clearly we see the same pattern of violence against fellow Muslims (and fellow Jihadists) at the hands of the uber radical Islamo Fascists creating a backlash. This is very reminiscent of how it began in Iraq. The Pakistan Awakening may be beginning (and it may not ever happen). But one thing is clear in all military situations, a divided enemy is easier to defeat than a united one. So the news civil war is starting to break out amongst the Taliban forces in the Pak Tribal Areas is very good news

POPSDefinition Of Patriotism: "Happiness When The US Defeats The Enemy" They have lost their supposedly divine endorsement; why would Allah have called them to action, just to see them destroyed by the infidels? The sheer bloodthirstiness of their actions in Iraq have exposed them as drug-driven demons, not righteous jihadists. While Barack Obama and the Democratic party run around shouting to every microphone they can find that “Al-Qaeda is stronger today than it was on 9/11″ have challenged the core assumptions of Al-Qaeda’s motivating philosophy, that Allah is on their side and they cannot fail, and in doing so have crushed the spirit of Al-Qaeda’s followers and assured that recruiting into “Allah’s army” is far more difficult that it would have been if otherwise. Al Qaeda itself is telling a different story. Al-Qaeda leaders admit: 'We are in crisis. There is panic and fear' http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article3346386.ece

POPSThe New Soft Underbelly Of Europe if Iran is able to continue a very transparent nuclear policy to its logical conclusion. Looking at Germany, then, Iran sees a country with nothing to counter the pressure of merely an implied nuclear threat. Jihadists see the linchpin of Europe, easy of access and inadvertently hospitable to operations, that will hardly punish those who fall into its hands, and that can neither accomplish on its own a flexible expeditionary response against a hostile base or sponsor, nor reply in kind to a nuclear strike. Thus the German government should be especially nervous about cargos trucked overland from the east. For its own protection, and thus that of Europe, Germany could more closely integrate and where appropriate reintegrate itself into the expeditionary and nuclear retaliatory structures of the U.S., Britain, and France, without moving nuclear weapons forward to German soil; embrace limited missile defense against potentially nuclear-armed Iranian IRBMs

POPSObama's Plan For Defeat But Obama and the Democrats would forfeit every one of these successes to a declared policy of fixed and unconditional withdrawal. The disconnect between what Democrats are saying about Iraq and what is actually happening there has reached grotesque proportions. Obama will keep pulling out his 2002 speech opposing the war. But McCain's case is simple. Is not Obama's central mantra that this election is about the future not the past? It is about 2009, not 2002. Obama promises that upon his inauguration, he will order the Joint Chiefs to bring him a plan for withdrawal from Iraq within 16 months. If McCain cannot take to the American people the case for the folly of that policy, he will not be president. Nor should he be.

POPSEat Crow, liberal Iraqi war skeptics If Democrats had won the White House in 2004, the jihadists might have succeeded. The idiotic liberals are still for retreat in the face of victory. The US decision to "stay the course" in the Iraq war, which was also widely mocked and criticized, served to thoroughly demoralize the jihadist movement. Another example of why liberals are unfit to run this country, unless you want to run it into the ground.

POPSABC, FBI Punk'd by Terror 'Fan Video' "The intel community appears to have (once again) fallen victim to poorly researched open source news reporting," writes Evan Kohlmann over at the Counterterrorism Blog. Look, reporters get stories wrong all the time. And ABC, to its credit, has revised its original report... but only slightly. There's a caveat from Venzke buried in the piece. The headline now reads: "Al Qaeda Supporters' Tape to Call for Use of WMDs." The quote from FBI spokesman Kolko remains the same. POPSAn Al Qaeda Mastermind Questions Terrorism Lawrence Wright
“Do they now have fax machines in Egyptian jail cells?” he asked. “I wonder if they’re connected to the same line as the electric-shock machines.” This sarcastic dismissal was perhaps intended to dampen anxiety about Fadl’s manifesto—which was to be published serially, in newspapers in Egypt and Kuwait—among Al Qaeda insiders. Fadl’s previous work, after all, had laid the intellectual foundation for Al Qaeda’s murderous acts. On a recent trip to Cairo, I met with Gamal Sultan, an Islamist writer and a publisher there. He said of Fadl, “Nobody can challenge the legitimacy of this person. His writings could have far-reaching effects not only in Egypt but on leaders outside it.” Usama Ayub, a former member of Egypt’s Islamist community, who is now the director of the Islamic Center in Münster, Germany, told me, “A lot of people base their work on Fadl’s writings, so he’s very important. When Dr. Fadl speaks, everyone should listen.” Lawrence Wright, "The Looming Tower"

POPSBush: No more Islamist jihads. Obliterated are jihadists, mujahideen, Islamofascist. So no more "glamorising terrorism, or imbues terrorists with religious authority they do not have and so damaging relations with Muslims around the world." Pity he didn't realize this BEFORE he sullied America's name in the Muslim world. Bit late now to smell the grass. You might expect to know what you should call your Muslim friends now. Well 'the memo warns: "Don't compromise our credibility" by using words and phrases that may ascribe benign motives to terrorists' but no useful info for the few neocon clippers. I expect it'll be back to swiftboating now.

POPSSupport Victory In Iraq: Sign Our Petition Please show solidarity behind General Petraeus and our heroic military. Make our voices of hope and support louder and stronger than those of the radical anti-war groups. We must proclaim that it would be undeniably disastrous for our national security to retreat and inhumane to leave the Iraqi people in the hands of the brutal and violent Islamic jihadists.

POPSMcCain Fumbles on Iran-Al Qaeda Propaganda What he said was entirely implausible, so Joe Lieberman (I-Israel) corrected him in order to get the official propaganda straight. You know...it's all the same to the dull American public...Al Qaeda, terrorists, extremists....just repeat those words enough and pretend you know what you're talking about. Just paint your propaganda in broad strokes John, it's all the same lies anyway. "War on terrorism", "jihadists", Iran evil, Israel good, blah, blah, blah. McCain just proved he is not "straight talking" and is not even keeping the cover story for war with Iran straight.

POPSWhy Winning In Iraq Is So Critical It is in Europe, not in post-Iraq Kansas, where a Turkish prime minister announces to Muslim expatriate residents that they must remain forever Turks and assimilation is a crime; it is in post-Iraq Europe, not Los Angeles, where politicians and churchmen talk of the inevitability of Sharia law; and it is in post-Iraq Europe, not the United States, where honor killings and Islamic rioting are common occurrences. Why? A number of reasons, but despite all the misrepresentation and propaganda, the message has filtered through the Middle East that the United States will go after and punish jihadists — but also, alone of the Western nations, it will risk its own blood and treasure to work with Arab nations to find some alternative to the extremes of dictatorship and theocracy. Europe, in contrast to its utopian rhetoric, will trade with and profit from, but most surely never challenge, a Middle Eastern thug. ...Read the whole thing.

POPSal-Qaeda Prepares Dual-Track Offensive In Iraq Just In Time For Jan 20, 2009
February 11, 2008, 2:11 PM (GMT+02:00) Just in time for President Bush’s first – and last - Middle East tour, al Qaeda’s new operational arm, Fatah al-Islam, completed its redeployment from Lebanon on two warfronts: Iraq and the Gaza Strip. Al Qaeda has managed to pull together two fronts for twin campaigns orchestrated by a single commander, Fatah al-Islam’s Palestinian chief Shaker al-Abessi, from his new base in Iraq. Fatah al-Islam under Abessi’s command pinned the Lebanese army down at the northern Nahar al-Badr camp for four months in the summer of 2007 before being driven out. With his top command, Abessi was able to access Iraq from Syria in the last month by transiting a purportedly sealed border. According to our sources, the Palestinian-led terrorist force has reached North Iraq and is taking reinforcements from Lebanon and Syria preparatory to joining the main al Qaeda body fighting US and Iraqi forces in other parts of the country.
