POPSWe all do silly things sometimes I think this story shows we all have a Homer Simpson "Dooh!" day once in a while. The poor chap just didn't know any other number like a traffic control number or 411 to get a traffic control number.

POPSSibling Rivalries, The Story of (Mc) Cain and Abel As soon as I read this story, an old biblical folklore came to mind... The one about Cain (without the Mc) and his brother Abel. Abel, the first murder victim, is sometimes seen as the first martyr; while Cain, the first murderer, (or in Mc's case, the character assassinator) is sometimes seen as a progenitor (originator) of evil. There is another verse from the bible that could fit here, as well. "He Who Lives in a Glass House Shouldn't Throw Stones at Others!" In other words, people should not attack others for their flaws when they have the same flaws. Or better yet, this phrase not from the bible... "What goes around comes around". or, "If you do something bad to another, (eventually) you will get hurt too!" Nuff said, John McCain! :p See video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcCe7ogI33k

POPSMeanwhile, in the convention hall Ooooooooh, Sarah-Bara-COO-dah! If you read the actual lyrics though, this clearly is a song to be sung by Barack Obama. He's just realized that he's about to be ambushed from the weeds by the Barracuda, and forced to his knees. Not long ago, he and "the porpoise" (Joe Biden, pre-hair plugs) were just "Selling a song," with "no right, no wrong" — just playing "a whisper game" involving a "name." This is clearly a reference to the "McSame" meme on which they were relying so much. And "sell me, sell you," the porpoise and the singer croon to each other in close harmony. Oh, yeah: It's about Obama and Biden, all right.

POPSBush, Mukasey, Cheney Claim Exec Privilege, Obstructing in Plame Case But the Executive has no "privilege" to violate the law, nor to obstruct justice. And Cheney, by his own words, is not part of the "executive branch". Mukasey, the new AG replacing Alberto (Speedy) Gonzales, shows why he was chosen by Bush, i.e. to continue to obstruct justice. As even republican federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said on the Plame case, "a cloud hangs over the VP office", and Scott McClellan just opened up and published his account that Bush personally admitted authorizing the Plame leak! This is stonewalling to avoid prosecution for a "high crime" worthy of impeachment by George and Dick both.

POPSDid Valerie Plame Wilson Commit Perjury? But, that is no excuse for the Valerie Wilson-Plame to sit in front of a Congressional Committee and LIE like she did. This is what Valerie Plame said sworn testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform: Plame also testified that she played no part in deciding to send her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, on a mission to Niger in 2002 to assess the reliability of reports that Iraq's then-president, Saddam Hussein, was trying to buy yellowcake uranium from that country for use in a secret nuclear weapons program. Some CPD officials could not recall how the office decided to contact the former ambassador, however, interviews and documents provided to the Committee indicate that his wife, a CPD employee, suggested his name for the trip. The CPD reports officer told Committee staff that the former ambassador's wife "offered up his name" and a memorandum to the Deputy Chief of the CPD on February 12, 2002.

POPSIt Must Suck Being Joseph "Yellow-Cake" Wilson IV Now! In his speech, Ambassador Joseph Wilson described himself as the investigator sent to Niger by the government and says the government sent him there and not the CIA (a lie). Wilson said there was nothing to the uranium story (another lie), described the US as "occupiers" of Iraq (a shocking statement at the time), and described a conspiracy to help Israel dominate the Palestinians. Joe Wilson repeated the lie for several years that the Iraq was not seeking uranium from Niger even though five days after Wilson's NYT op-ed, George Tenet put out a statement describing how the person the CIA sent to check out the Niger story (Joe Wilson) found that the Iraqis had indeed tried to open up trade talks, which were interpretted by government officials in Niger as an attempt to purchase uranium ore. POPSThe "Dark Genius" of Fox News "To me, that's the smoking gun if you're looking for evidence that Fox News is as much a partisan political machine as a news organization. I think TVN is a great piece of evidence in that whole puzzle. And Joe Coors played the role of Rupert Murdoch in that. Basically, Ailes learned how to run a national news service. He learned how to get stories to deadline, he learned how journalists work the news, but most importantly, he learned from Coors and his associates, people like Jack Wilson, how to try and manipulate the news product. Because the Coors people, they wanted a conservative news service, they were frustrated they couldn't get that because it turned out the reporters they hired were too professional."

POPSThis comment is pending approval and won't be displayed until it is approved. HERE IS MY COMMENT HUFF- POST REFUSED: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Can't we all just get a little real? Most of these comment-ers would be making the opposite argument had this happened to a Democrat administration. If Armitage from the State Dept.let it slip when there was legitimate curiosity about what had inspired JW's trip to Niger and it was not a malicious "outing",all this other blame is nothing more than gossip. While the trip ended with a highly questionable, seemingly biased opinion on the yellowcake issue,it was a success because Joe Wilson was looking to insert himself into the public eye and to be believed by the drama-driven media.Which,of course, they did. -----------------------------------(CONT'D)

POPS Tin-Foil Hat Alert Kim Jong Il's practice of counterfeiting US $100's has been an ongoing problem for possibly 3 or four years, but perhaps Valerie Plame or Ambassador Joe Wilson could shine some light on the alleged CIA connection????? Also, after the Hezbollah-Israel war in 2006, piles of US $100 were discovered in the bombed out Beirut office of Nassrallah.

POPSA Coalition of the Co-Opted, the Corrupted and the Coerced: Joe Wilson
"In the absence of international consensus, the Bush administration relied on a coalition of what I call the co-opted, the corrupted and the coerced: those who benefited financially from their involvement, those who benefited politically from their involvement and those few who determined that their relationship with the US was more important than their relationship with anybody else. There is no underlying international legitimacy that sustains us throughout this action" "The increasing use of contractors makes wars easier to begin and to fight - it just takes money and not the citizenry," says Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights, who sued private contractors for alleged human rights violations. "To the extent a population is called upon to go to war, there is a necessary resistance to prevent wars of self-aggrandizement, foolish wars and in the case of the US, hegemonic imperialist wars. Think about Rome and its increasing need for mercenaries."

POPSJoe Wilson vs Joe Wilson The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa. Joe Wilson seems to have left something out of the story he wrote trying to discredit the administration. He left out that he actually did find out Iraq sent a delegation to discuss 'expanding commercial relations' that he believed was to discuss buying yellowcake uranium. So, the fact that Saddam had sought uranium from Africa wasn't just backed up by the British government, it was backed up by Joe Wilson himself. So no matter how Joe tries to spin it, he brought back evidence that Saddam was indeed seeking to restart his nuclear program at some point in the future.
