POPSObama Ad Links McCain, Abramoffby
Wisco Yesterday 10:44 PM
Pretty straight forward. It'll be hard for McCain to weasel out of this one -- although there won't be any shortage of media figures willing to help him along. I'd like to see this followed up with McCain's ties to lobbyists and the way he swaps positions for campaign cash. Someone's got to cut that "straight talkin' maverick" BS out from under him.

POPSMcCain Doesn't Disagree that We Might Need a Draft
Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.org said, "At least Senator McCain is being honest. A vote for him is a vote for the draft. Period. Unless Senator McCain radically changes his worldview, there would be a draft to implement his plans." Soltz added, "When you take into account his indefinite military commitment to Iraq, his desire to send more troops to Afghanistan, record lows in recruiting and retention, and possibly more wars he is looking to get into, like "Bomb Bomb Bomb" Iran, his numbers don't add up without a draft. Whether America likes it or not isn't relevant - a draft is the only way to do everything Senator McCain wants to do. I give him points for being honest and upfront, though, that we're going to need a draft if he is elected." This isn't the first time that Senator McCain has hinted at a reinstitution of the draft if he is elected. Asked on September 29, 2007 in New Hampshire about the draft, McCain said he would "consider it."

POPSMcCain winning in new poll, follows trend See? If Obama keeps moving towards being like a moderate Repub, he's gonna blow a "no-Brainer" election...typical Democrat not being bold enough to stand up for what he really believes and it's showing...mark my words--if he doesn't change his tune (it may be too late now), he's gonna hand the country to an old, senile fucking war monger...What a country, what a circus!

POPSMcCain wants Glam McCain's campaign has been running an ad berating Obama for being a "celebrity" , yet the "original maverick" is enlisting the help of a big Hollywood agent? How typically hypocritical...

POPSPolitical News It appears Obama's early lead has subsided now as McCain rides the mometum of his foreign policy experience

POPSThe Young Turks: "Did John McCain Lie About His P.O.W Record?" I firmly believe that the generation of politicians that came to power before the age of YouTube and the like are going to find themselves bitten in the ass over and over again. They've gotten used to changing their stories over and over, and up until now no one was paying attention.

POPSWhy I Will Not Vote for John McCain
"I can verify that John has an infamous reputation for being a hot head. He has a quick and explosive temper that many have experienced first hand. Folks, quite honestly that is not the finger I want next to that red button." "It is also disappointing to see him take on and support Bush's war in Iraq, even stating we might be there for another 100 years. For me John represents the entrenched and bankrupt policies of Washington-as-usual. The past 7 years have proven to be disastrous for our country. And I believe John's views on war, foreign policy, economics, environment, health care, education, national infrastructure and other important areas are much the same as those of the Bush administration." "I'm disappointed to see John represent himself politically in ways that are not accurate. He is not a moderate Republican. On some issues he is a maverick. But his voting record is far to the right. I fear for his nominations to our Supreme Court, and the consequent continuing loss o

POPSIs McCain another George W. Bush? "George Bush's record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure. And the part that troubles me most is he seems content with himself." "He will leave office with the country $10 trillion in debt, fighting two wars, our international reputation in shambles, our government cloaked in secrecy and suspicion that his entire presidency has been a litany of broken laws and promises, our citizens' faith in our own country ripped to shreds. Yet Bush goes bumbling along, grinning and spewing moronic one-liners, as though nobody understands what a colossal failure he has been." "I fear to the depth of my being that John McCain is just like him."

POPSJohn McCain's Secret Love Affair. Take the pledge to tell Media Corporations, they must stop the liaison between themselves and the rightwing. I did below. --- I am tired of the media's constant attempts at manipulating their viewers political mentality. Even though it has tweaked in recent times to be more balanced and fair they are still tilting much too far to the right. After all, most media outlets are run by Media Conglomerates and benefit excessively ($$$) when republicans are in charge. In a free society facts from all political persuasions should be presented fairly. Let's not waste a single opportunity to tell them so. thinkingblue.blogspot.com Take the pledge at the link below. What the media does, really matters. http://mediamattersaction.org/theyloveme/?src=love0729-3

POPSJohn McCain Attempts Spin to VFW Audience You can decide for yourself which version is the "better bill". For what its worth, VFW endorsed the Webb-Hagel version and is even awarding Senator Webb a a gold medal and citation of merit for his work on Veterans' education benefits.

POPSNYT: McCain Cheated at Saddleback Team McCain responds: "The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, cheated is outrageous," said. And that's pretty much it -- McCain was a POW and that makes it somehow impossible for him to cheat. I'm not sure that's so logical. Still, it's one more example of McCain using his Vietnam experience as a political crutch. It should also be not that the NYT and the Obama campaign aren't the same thing -- it's also an accusation, not an "insinuation." Expect a lot more of these non-responses in the future.

POPSMcCain's Mansions: The Houses That Greed Built "Most working families today do not have homes that have anywhere near ten rooms. John McCain has ten houses. Many working people in America have to work two and three jobs to provide for their families and pay their car loans. John McCain hops on a private jet. Is it any wonder why McCain champions a George Bush agenda of cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, helping oil companies turn record profits, and leaving working families to fend for themselves?
