Swings and Checks in Nature

How come scaremongering TV journalists do not publicise a significant increase in the ice cap as readily as they do with melting icebergs and glaciers? Maybe it does not scare people as much and will not sell so well. Cynical? Me? Nah!

Arctic sea ice cover at record low
jetcloud
by jetcloud  9-13-2007
" Most researchers had anticipated that the complete disappearance of the Arctic ice pack during summer months would happen after the year 2070, he said, but now, "losing summer sea ice cover by 2030 is not unreasonable." Scores of peer-reviewed scientific studies have documented a steady, worldwide decline in ice cover, from the sea-bound ice covering the North Pole to the vast, land-based ice sheets that cover the Antarctic continent. Glaciers, from Greenland to the Alps to Mount Kilimanjaro near the equator, also have been vanishing."

Clubbing Seal Hunt Myths
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  3-25-2007
I have to comment that this is about bloody time if you'll pardon the expression. The activists have been flaunting videos taken in the 80s when the Canadian seal hunts really were brutal and bloody. In theyears since - the hunts have become much more humane and in reality are a necessary part of life in the Canadian North. Different countries have different ways. People need to read the facts before they blindly judge because Paul McCartney says they should.

Leading French Scientist Debunks Global Warming

Even the scientists couldn't remain on board this sham. Shows how stupid and gullible hollywood is for praising a lying charlatan like algore, and further demonstrates how brainless their political viewpoints can be.

It Seems the Schools in England Are A Bit More Open-Minded
zasel

After hearing how some schools in the U.S. have refused to show Gore's important film because of its "political statement" it's refreshing and reassuring to know that in other parts of the world this issue is being taken more seriously.

God or Global Warming Causing Snows of Kilimanjaro to Shrink?
gingembre
by gingembre  11-15-2006    2
There is also some speculation that deforestation (by humans & elephants) at the base of the mountain may be causing shrinking snows and increasing drought. IMO the combination of global warming and deforestation by humans are causing the snow to disappear. Africa is suffering. The world is suffering.
