POPSObama vs. Obama finds much comfort in these increasingly peculiar neck-snapping reversals. Despite the evident dishonesty of these moves, though, those of us with whom Obama is suddenly discovering so many points of agreement should certainly make the most of his awkward dance. Will other prominent Democrats agree with their candidate's newly discovered views? If not, why not?

POPSObama, Conyers epitomize Arrogance in Pants.
Thanks Joan for posting this...The Centrist thing of Obama's was inevitable, it seems, as he panders to the sheeple. WASHINGTON -- Former White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove won't testify next week before a House committee investigating the prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman, despite a threat of a contempt proceeding. Rove is exerting executive privilege and declined the invitation to appear before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, his attorney Robert Luskin wrote to the House panel Tuesday. A lawsuit is pending in federal court in Washington over whether top White House officials can be compelled to testify before Congress, he wrote. The Judiciary Committee has been seeking Rove's testimony since April, and committee Chairman Rep. John Con- yers, D-Mich., said in a response letter sent Thursday that he was "disappointed" with Rove's decision. It seems Conyers has lost his balls somewhere...won't Impeach, when it's the only thing to stop Cheney/Bush, and

POPSObama Shifts on Abortion Another disappointment , really. Obama's not a doctor -- and it shows. By making a distinction between "mental distress" and "a serious physical issue," he makes the far too common mistake of discounting mental illness -- like depression -- as a "real" and damaging illness. What he should do is leave the medical stuff alone and think like a lawyer -- which he is. Is there a reason to limit a woman's choices at a certain stage of pregnancy and, if so, what are they? Arguing from a position of ignorance is never a good idea.

POPSHeartbreaking Regardless your views of abortion in general let alone a late term one, when i read this i was filled with so many conflicting emotions. In the end all i was, was incredibly sad for this girl. Regardless of the choice *made for her* she will live with the repurcussions of this mans act of violence against her and then now the world's condemnation for a choice she isn't likely making herself now, even after the rape. In the end i put away all my thoughts of what i think and merely sit with how sad it is, that NO child should be forced to deal with a such a decision at 11 years old. :(

POPSObama's Bad Record on Abortion Obama portrays himself as a middle of the road candidate, but his record proves otherwise. Perhaps no other US Senator has been so consistent in his pro-choice voting.

POPS"Rocky"--Unborn Twin Fights Doctors to Live and Wins
Doctor's recommend killing him, saying he was too "weak". They said he might hurt health of twin brother. They sought to terminate his life before birth. He rebelled and won! Note the fight to survive from the womb--a God-given drive to survive, in self-defense, is entirely active before birth! The story of these doctors to the mother was irrational, especially so late in term. Note that doctors' medical advise must be questioned, instead of believed without consideration. They wanted to kill this late term baby! The mother made a decision, not for her own life, but for the death of one of her sons! Women would never have considered such a decision through history. "Let nature takes its course" is still conservative and more rational advise. "Wait and see what happens" instead of fear-mongered action. Stories like this are many through history, beginning with the struggle of Jacob and Esau in the womb. Modern mothers could add their stories, that do not make headlines.

POPS4D ultrasounds may test abortion laws 4D ultrasounds can show movement of the foetus, developing features from early stages. Early growth can be seen in a new light. The inception of consciousness is more difficult to pinpoint. The development of consciousness may be a gradual acquisition of sensory information, and subsequent associated perspective, that does not stop until we die, perhaps beyond. The difference between a foetus and an the old may just be experience.

POPSSo much for being pro-life A Focus on the Family official said that one of the attractive things about the federal partial-birth abortion ban is that it bans a procedure safer for women (D&X) than an alternative procedure (D&E). Via hilzoy at Obsidian Wings

POPS'Partial-Birth' Abortion Ruling a Mistake: Physicians I would like to point out that not all late term abortions have been baned just the Dilation & Extraction (PBA) Procedure (aka partial birth, which by the way is a term first coined by the right to life group.) Doctors may still use what is basically a C section to abort the fetus. This was a purposeful move. The reasoning is the thought of having a major and higher risk medical procedure will frighten some away.

POPSMommie Dearest: A Case for Abortion? This is one child perhaps who should have been aborted and I am not talking about the child I am refering to the mom. Life in prison is too leniant for these two sick freaks. I will support LATE TERM ABORTION in this case. These two should be given a late term abortion.

POPSAbortion Laws Revisited For those of you who thought the abortion laws in this country would never actually change...it's going to be quite scary to see what the Supreme Court has in store regarding this issue.
