POPSBill Clinton's Complimentary Remarks On Sarah and Todd Clinton concluded his statement on Palin by asking why "say anything bad about a person" and why couldn't everyone just "be happy for her elevation to the ticket," even though they disagree with her. This is a surprisingly gracious statement from Clinton on Palin, and he is absolutely correct. Politics shouldn't be about talking repeating vicious rumors concerning someone's family members and hacking into their email accounts to look for dirt on them. Perhaps both parties need to listen to what Clinton is saying; however, the left bears the brunt of responsibility for the smear campaigns against Palin since her name was announced as the candidate.

POPSNYT: Palin hired cronies, pursued vendettas Appoints high school classmates, unqualified, to top Alaska positions. Reminds one of "You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie;" and of Dave Letterman's characterization of Bush's appointments as "No Crony Left Behind."

POPSThe joke is finally on Barack Obama For those of us who are no fans of Obama....just a fun article that sums up his campaign fairly well. FTA: "..when Obama was asked what he thought about being called arrogant, well, he said he was 'above having to answer that question.'"

POPSAnthrax Mystery, In-Depth Podcast Must hear podcast. McCain tied the Anthrax attacks to Iraq in 2001 on the David Letterman show, to justify war, as did Bush (knowing there was no evidence to say such--lying). In-depth interviews here on Democracy Now podcast trace the clear evidence that whoever sent the letters engaged in purposeful propaganda to push the "War on terrorism" (Middle East regime change) and Homeland Security (fear-based) agendas. Also details about the suicide suspect Ivins by a person who knew him and the FBI's suspicious handling of the entire case. Alot of facts that the MSM is not covering while they parrot everything from the FBI without any investigation of their own former stories. (Interview in podcast follows headlines, etc...fast forward).

POPS Arrogance Watch Elevating the issue of Obama's arrogance two or three notches higher, Dana Milbank writes in Wednesday's Washington Post: Fresh from his presidential-style world tour, during which foreign Obama settled down to some presidential-style business in Washington Then, he went up to Capitol Hill to be adored by House Democrats in a presidential-style pep rally. Along the way, he traveled in a bubble more insulating than the actual president's. Traffic was shut down for him as he zoomed about town in a long, presidential-style motorcade, while the public and most of the press were kept in the dark about his activities, which included a fundraiser at the Mayflower where donors paid $10,000 or more to have photos taken with him.

POPSMcCain gaffes pile up; critics pile on McCain's mistakes raise a serious, if uncomfortable question: Are the gaffes the result of his age? And what could that mean in the Oval Office? Voters, thinking about their own relatives, can be expected to scrutinize McCain’s debate performances for signs of slippage

POPSGag me The reason they aren't writing jokes is summed up in what Stewart said, "So far, our take is that he is positioning himself to be on a coin". They are so in the tank for Obama. At least they are honest. What puzzles me is that they must know by now he doesn't have any new ideas. He doesn't have any friends that he won't throw under a bus. He, as it turns out, is just another politician who thinks he can get away with saying one thing to one audience, another to another and then deny he ever said or took any position. This guy is not even slick about it and in this day and age EVERYTHING is on video. But everyone is giving him a pass. And for what. SO that we can have Carter part II. JEesh!

POPSMcCain "Death of Iraqis due to war? In the Hundreds of Thousands" Either McCain has no clue what he's talking about. Which is a very distinct possibility if anyone's been following his gaffes on what's actually taking place in the Mid-East ...... or ...... much of what the lunatic rightwing holds onto, as ridiculously low numbers of Iraqi deaths due to Bush's reckless war based on lies, is propaganda
