Congressman Alcee Hastings & THE RADICAL ISLAMIC Connection
Judge Love
by Judge Love  8-3-2008    1
They say, "A man or a woman is judged and measured by the quality of their friends." I say Congressman Alcee Hastings is apparently in good company with this band of low-lifes who all have one thing in common, an ISLAMIC RADICAL & ANTI-AMERICAN THUG named Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who as you see, came to the defense of... Let's list them for comparison: Alcee Hastings (ousted judge) OJ Simpson Libyan Terrorist Muammar Qaddafi Mass Murderer - President Idi Amin of Uganda The Black Panther Party Convicts Doing Life in Attica State Prison _______________________________ Come'on Alcee, tell us if you've been training under Farrakhan. Farrakhan's anti-establishment sentiment sure reminds me of how you (Mr. Disgraced Judge & Congressman), diss our government officials like you are some militant in black sunglasses, standing at the right side of Farrkhan's shoulder. Coincidence? Perhaps not !

War on Iran: Security or Neocon Plan Continued?
blueridge
by blueridge  7-31-2008    1
Pat Buchanan wrote this after Iraq war started but its relevant now with Iran increasingly in the cross hairs. The war theatres were planned well before 9/11, by the neoconservatives and Israel. "Iraq has WMD and wants to attack us"...and now same script with Iran, and people actually believe it! On Sept. 12, Americans were still in shock when Bill Bennett told CNN that we were in “a struggle between good and evil,” that the Congress must declare war on “militant Islam,” and that “overwhelming force” must be used. Bennett cited Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and China as targets for attack. Not, however, Afghanistan, the sanctuary of Osama’s terrorists. How did Bennett know which nations must be smashed before he had any idea who attacked us? Now if this does not make you suspicious about any official justification for war, nothing will. Pat Buchanan as an adviser in Presidential administrations writes with credibility. Read al

France the the beneficiary of nuclear growth...
deb2012
by deb2012  7-10-2008
even though their construction projects aren't going so well. That great sucking sound you hear is proposed or in-the-works nuclear plants blowing their budgets everywhere. French company Areva's first EPR project, in Finland, is two years behind schedule and at least $1.5-billion over budget. Its second, in France's Normandy region, is headed in the same direction, after construction stalled for several weeks recently. It's not just the skyrocketing price of basic materials, such as concrete and steel, that's driving costs upward. So-called third generation reactors - such Areva's EPR and Atomic Energy's ACR-1000 - are still works in progress. And the two decades during which nuclear power faced desert-like prospects has left the industry grappling with a severe shortage of skilled workers.

The Sky, From Above
merrie
by merrie  6-17-2008
Viewing these photos at the website is recommended. The Space Shuttle Discovery successfully launched last week, becoming the 154th manned US space mission. It flew to the International Space Station, delivering (among other things) a Japanese module called Kibo, repair parts for a broken toilet, a Buzz Lightyear action figure, one of Lance Armstrong's yellow jerseys, and 18 sesame seed bagels - the first bagels ever to reach Earth orbit. Completion of this mission will leave only eight flights remaining in the Space Shuttle program until its end in 2010. One of the best features of the space program has always been astronaut photography, and I will take this opportunity to share some of the best photographs of Earth's skies, taken from above - way above (over 200 miles to be more exact). Khan Nuke Smuggling Network Has Ties to Pentagon & "Israeli Elements"
blueridge
by blueridge  6-15-2008    5
This is what Drudge and the Wash Post do not tell you about the Khan network: 2000-2001: Nuclear Proliferation Network Penetrates Pentagon with Help of Senior Officials A nuclear proliferation network operating in the US penetrates the Pentagon and related institutions, according to FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds. The network, which is run by Pakistani scientist A. Q. Khan, but also includes Turkish and Israeli elements, is allegedly helped by a number of senior officials in the Pentagon. Edmonds will later say: “The provided lists of potential moles from Pentagon-related institutions who had access to databases concerning this information... One of the Pentagon figures that is a target of the FBI investigation is Larry Franklin, an analyst who will be jailed in 2006 for passing US defense information to lobbyists According to Edmonds, Franklin is “one of the top people providing information and packages during 2000 and 2001.”[/quo

The liberal's respected world body, the one they feel should run all world affairs, engages in child rape and abuse. This is the organization that seats countries like Libya on it's human rights committee, and is powerless to take any meaningful action on anything meaningful. Bill Clinton would have been a perfect match for a U.N. aid worker, except it would require some work.

UN Walkout Over Israel Slur

The meeting was postponed following the walkout. Britain's deputy ambassador, Karen Pierce, said: “A number of council members were dismayed by the approach taken by Libya and do not believe that such language helps advance the peace process.” The Anti-Defamation League praised the diplomats who left the meeting and described the comments as "deeply insulting." ADL National Director Abraham Foxman said: “There can be no comparison between Israel's effort to defend its citizens against terrorism and the Nazis' systematic killing of six million Jews in the Holocaust.

Media Ignore OPEC’s Control Of Oil Market
merrie
by merrie  4-1-2008    3
OPEC was created in 1960 by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. It now includes nine other oil-producing nations – Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. “In the period between World War II and the formation of OPEC, the inflation-adjusted price of oil fluctuated little,” he wrote. “From 1970-1980, however, the real price of oil rose by about 1,300 percent. Between 1980 and 1986, it dropped by about two-thirds. It was fairly steady between 1986-1997, fell farther in 1997-1998, and then nearly quadrupled after February 1999. This is stability?” Taylor predicted in 2004 – when oil was around $31.50 a barrel – that “if OPEC disappeared tomorrow, oil prices would drop to somewhere around $8 a barrel and gasoline prices would almost certainly be south of $1 a gallon. A price collapse of that magnitude would do more for consumer welfare and the overall health of the American economy than President Bush...."

Jerusalem rabbi school killings. UN condemn?
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  3-7-2008    3
I agree with Libya and the others who stopped this from becoming a one-sided resolution (despite the support of Canada, the USA and the EU). Why was there no move for such a UN resolution last week when Israeli killed 120 Palestinians civilians?? Or why no such resolution when that Russian school was taken over and many killed a few years ago. Why not a resolution about school shooting in the USA and other nations by deranged individuals? The POINT is we have an undue and excessive focus on Israel and are totally one-sided in our attitudes. Are 120 Palestinian dead last week somehow less important than 8 Israeli dead this week? Israel invaded these Arab lands in 1947, if you don't know, and one of the consequences of 60 years of invasion is hate, war, and murder. And as Canada, the USA and the EU watch over a million people in Gaza being starved to death in front of our eyes the UN does nothing. Now the UN is concerned?

Bush admin. should save Libyan dissident
jklugman
by jklugman  2-8-2008
Upon his release, Eljahmi began speaking up for political reform in Libya. Within the month, Gadhafi had him back in prison, where he has been held, mostly incommunicado, since late March 2004. In all that time, there have been no more public mentions of Eljahmi's name from the White House. Gadhafi, meanwhile, has hit the jackpot as America's prime example of a rogue regime on rehab - presumably a case study for the likes of Iran and North Korea of how good life can get for tyrants if only they will forego an interest in nukes. Astride the oil wells of Libya, Gadhafi has enjoyed a parade of high-level visitors, including United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and he has been welcomed in Paris. This year, with no protest from the United States, Libya gained one of the 10 rotating seats on the U.N. Security Council. Last month, Rice treated the Libyan foreign minister to a personal tour of the White House.
