POPSIf An Oil Man is Saying It... It has to make you think just how out of touch our government is with reality, when a "big oil" tycoon is telling Congress we need to invest more in alternative energy to ween ourselves off of foreign oil. Maybe Bush will listen to one of his own. Or maybe that's putting too much of an assumption on Bush being intelligent, which is a BIG assumption.

POPSHaving the ‘Best Military’ Is Not Always a Good Thing
So consider this a modest proposal from a retired citizen-airman: A small but meaningful act against the creeping militarism of the Bush years would be to collectively repudiate our “world’s best warfighter” rhetoric and re-embrace instead a tradition of reluctant but resolute citizen-soldiers. Becoming Warfighters I first noticed the term “warfighter” in 2002. Like many a field-grade staff officer, I spent a lot of time crafting PowerPoint briefings, trying to sell senior officers and the Pentagon on my particular unit’s importance to the President’s new Global War on Terrorism. The more briefings I saw, the more often I came across references to “serving the warfighter.” It was, I suppose, an obvious selling point, once we were at war in Afghanistan and gearing up for “regime-change” in Iraq. And I was probably typical in that I, too, grabbed the term for my briefings. After all, who wants to be left behind when it comes to supporting the troops “at the pointy end of the spear”

POPSConverting DNA Structures into Music Highly complex DNA structures can be tranformed into musical sounds, which might eventually be used to monitor sick patients. In the acoustic translation, harmony represents good health, and discord indicates disease. Finally auditory information will allow surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other physicians to be able to focus on their task and listen at the same time.

POPSPenis Size So, size does matters (don’t listen what they say); it really has something to do with self esteem.

POPSMore McCain There are so many reasons not to vote for McCain....his intelligence is the major stumbling block......he is not intelligent. After all, even George W was a flyer of jets. How much intelligence does it take?

POPSYou Owe $455,000 * “People seem to think the government has money,” said former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker. “The government doesn’t have any money“ * The United States Department of the Treasury and the Office of Management and Budget published a report stating that the U.S. cannot grow our way out of the government’s liabilities, that the liabilities are quickly growing, and that failing to take drastic and immediate action would lead to very bad consequences (the report was written in 2006) * The International Monetary Fund - which oversees third-world economies - are so concerned about the solvency of the U.S. economy that they are conducting a complete audit of the whole US financial system If you owed $455,000, you might very well have to file for bankruptcy, unless you had some rich uncle who could bail you out. But if your uncle had bailed you out numerous times in the past and if you had consistently broke your promises to re-pay him - he’d probably cut you off

POPSUltra Thin Digital MP3 Voice Recorder A necessary gadget for the forgetful among us is the Ultra-thin Digital Voice Recorder. The size alone is impressive. This mp3 voice recorder is the size of a credit card and this means that you can safely and easily store it just about anywhere you can place a scan card.

POPSThe drum beat of idiocy... Capt Fogg nails it again: patriotism trumps any type of reason in our (right wing) politics... Will anyone actually listen to what the candidates has to say on the issues? Or is it all decided based on imagery...

POPSSongza An awesome online jukebox that has almost any song you'd care to hear. You may need to wade through MySpace covers and badly recorded live versions, but it's worth it if you like to hear the same songs all the time (the playlist option is great).

POPSGee, I wonder why How many times have we heard, in the past couple of months from Dems that drilling would have no effect on the price of oil? How many times have you heard the Right call BS. For all the crap Bush and Cheney get about being oilmen one would think that when it came to a crisis involving oil the left would actually listen to the oil men.

POPSUnited States sends diplomat to meet with Iranian official Wow - strict orders not to engage in one-on-one discussions aside - this seems to be a HUGE deal. Should something positive develop here, in addition to hopefully avoiding another military conflict, it would likely send oil prices significantly lower. Curious what kind of implications this will have on the election. My first thought is that it helps Obama because he's been such an advocate of dialog, but my gut tells me i must be missing something there because it's highly unlikely that the Bush administration would do something so seemingly helpful to Obama.

POPSObama born to Muslim Martians!
Hey, believe that and I've got a bridge on the MOON to sell ya! Good Gobbly Goop, there are too many gullibles in the USA. Sometimes, I get a notion to post on the Internet, something so outrageous, that only a person living on some mountaintop without any info at hand and with an IQ of minus 10, could believe. Just to see how breakneck fast it would go from computer to computer. Then I’ll sit back and listen to the, collective shouts of the 'Uninformed" yelling, "I TOLD YOU SO, I KNEW OBAMA WAS A DIRTY WHATCHAMACALLIT!" We sure are a nation of nincompoops (Well, too many, anyhow.). It's scary, that countless "informationally challenged" will vote for a USA president, based on rumors and negative hearsay of the opposition. What's so stressful, is that not only they, will live with the consequences but the rest of us who have half a brain will also have to live with their boneheaded mindsets. Just for fun, let's have another 8 years of Dubya to see what how low we could go.
