POPSOldest cat in America dies, shocking discovery made Health officials called to the scene with Human Control Services reported that the conditions were quite distressing. "There were far to many old women living here, and the food provided was inadequate.", said Agent Fluffy. "The water in the tub for them was stale. And their litter boxes were atrocious." The 72 old women were rounded up and taken to a "no-kill" shelter in Dallas, pending the reading of Caterack's will. It is believed that the estate is to be left to these old women, many of them now feral, all with some health problems. Regrettably, the descendants of Caterack are expected to contest that, so authorities are broadcasting a plea to any other cats out there who can accomodate two or three of these old women. "They are good old women", said Agent Fluffy. "They've been fairly well kept all in all. They need good homes, and lots of love." Cats interested can call 1-800-OLD-LADY.

POPSMoon Survives Unprovoked Attack! In defense of science. Still worry that we allow rubbish to litter the moon. To prove there is water. So, don't we have enough brands of bottled water already? Maybe so that astronauts can stop off and have a shower on their 10 thousand year journey to the nearest exoplanet which may support life.

POPSWho's in Big Brother's Database? Thus it is possible that the agency scans all the e-mail of both and it may also eavesdrop on the telephone calls of both for targets on its ever-growing watch lists. According to a recent Justice Department report, "As of December 31, 2008, the consolidated terrorist watchlist contained more than 1.1 million known or suspected terrorist identities."

POPSDoes Your Cat Eat Strange Things? Genetic predisposition ---- wool sucking, is seen more frequently in Siamese and Birman cats. Environmental factors. Is the cat bored or seeking attention? Compulsive disorder. Once other possibilities are ruled out, some pet behavioralists start to look into the possibility of compulsive disorder. munching on live power cords can be hazardous to a cat’s health–but the other danger is that ingested materials can get stuck in your cat’s stomach or intestine, which can obstruct the passage of food and may cut off the blood supply to organs–either scenario can be fatal As well, many houseplants are toxic to cats; chewing or eating these plants can have mild symptoms as well as fatality. If your cat has a history of ingesting non-food items and becomes lethargic, vomits, or displays other concerning behavior, take them to your veterinarian immediately See the ASPCA’s full list of plants toxic to cats More at the site

POPSBicycler's Dream Home Away From Home I like this one. It weighs less than I do, not counting the bike. The only thing that scares me is the Iron Lung look. I want my head inside with the rest of me. Maybe he cut that hole as an after thought that some people are longer than 5'6". Still a nice idea though.

POPSRecycling Nasties After the other bunny clip, I just had to clip this one! It is just incredible what is in an artist's eye. Who would EVER think that something so sweet could be made of such nasty contents. UGH ! The next time I see some character digging in the ashtrays outside the store, I'll remember this story, and wonder.

POPSCats Toilet Training Cats are intelligent creatures and can be trained. It's important to teach your cat most of the 'catty' manners before 6 months of age, as these animals can be quite stubborn later on. One of the most important considerations is training cats for litter boxes.

POPSFew Answers To Why Paychecks Were Late For Dozens Of Teen Workers Someone from the inside of the building posted a sign reading, 'Slate will be open from 11 to 1pm for any participant to pick up paychecks' "It's a government program and it shouldn't be like this," says Henderson. "It really shouldn't." Around 11, the office did begin handing out paychecks, but there was hardly room to move inside. And Breaunna's paycheck had an error in it. "They didn't even give her the full amount," says Henderson. "I gotta go back in there, they're missing over 200 dollars off her check right now. Her last check was $600 this one is $331." SLATE administrators downplayed the delay. "You know I can't really say it's been a holdup," says Alice Prince, the Youth Services Manager for SLATE. "I can say when you're servicing over sixteen hundred people you do have challenges but we're overcoming all the challenges, we're working really hard to do that." Copyright 2009, KTVI-TV

POPSMy great job Ken White is the president of the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. More: It is, in fact, both hard and wonderful to come here every day. Wonderful animals, smiling and happy, leaving us for their new homes. Wonderful animals, brought to us ill and injured, being made well by caring and compassionate staff and volunteers so that they then, too, can find their new families. Wonderful people, staff and volunteers, working to make a difference. Wonderful people, coming to us to help us save these thousands of wonderful lives. To be a part of that, to know that every day has that as its purpose, it is truly wonderful. Hard and wonderful, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
