POPSRachel Lambert Mellon is an American Horticulturalist Tamara Mellon began her career at Phyllis Walters Public Relations and at the Mirabella agency. She also worked as a shopgirl at Browns, a well-known designer boutique, before becoming accessories editor for British Vogue. While at British Vogue, Mellon recognized the potential for the development of high-end designer accessories, and it was around this time that she met Jimmy Choo, a Malaysian-born shoemaker who operated out of a workshop in London’s East End. Mellon approached Choo with the idea of launching a ready-to-wear shoe company, and the rest, as they say, is retail history.
