POPS12 Weirdest Things Ever Insured Whiskey company Cutty Sark was offering a $1.5 million prize for capturing the mythical Scottish lake inhabitant, the Loch Ness Monster, alive. They then took out home insurance against paying this prize, just in case someone actually did capture it alive. During the 1930s, then 13 year old Harvey Lowe insured his hands for $150,000, which was a large sum of money at the time. POPSIndia`s (sentimental) Bureaucracy .. -)) End of Story: The airport manager halts. His legs buckle at the knees, his shoulders sag and he turns back towards me, arms stretched as if to hug me to his chest. His face is ashen, his moustache quivers. The silence hangs between us, seeming to last all day. Then, with a stirring squaring of the shoulders and life-saving resolve, he delivers my salvation. 'Mr Jonathan, India's thoughts and wishes are with you and your country. We will get you to Bombay. Please, come this way. We have no time to lose.' Before I can say Sachin Tendulkar, I am in the air, on my way to Bombay. India has risen to the occasion.
