POPSMarcus Luttrell, Author Of Best-Seller "Lone Survivor" Tons of you are reading “Lone Survivor,” the NYTimes best-seller I’ve spotlighted here and here. Now, there’s this incredible news from Hollywood gossip columnist Nikki Finke. Tinseltown wants to make a movie out of the book: I hear there’s a frenzied Hollywood bidding war going on today over the No. 1 book on The New York Times non-fiction bestseller list: Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes Of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell. Studio toppers are interrupting their vacations to try to get this book which was sold to Little Brown by superagent Ed Victor for a seven figure advance. How interesting that liberal Hollywood is hot for this patriotic tell-all by a proud conservative.

POPS The Largest Loss Of Life In Navy SEAL History
Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10. The story is about four U.S. Navy SEALs whose June 2005 mission in northern Afghanistan was to capture or kill a al Qaeda leader known to be in a Taliban stronghold. In less than 24 hours, only one of those Navy SEALs remained alive, Marcus Luttrell. This book is Luttrell's first-person account of that tragic day, the largest loss of life in Navy SEAL history. All thanks to asinine rules of engagement our military personnel are forced to fight under. I couldn't possibly explain this intolerable situation better or with more moral authority than Leading Petty Officer Marcus Luttrell himself For me, it began in Iraq, the first murmurings from the liberal part of the U.S.A. that we were somehow in the wrong; brutal killers, bullying other countries; that we who put our lives on the line for our nation at the behest of our government should somehow be charged with murder for shooting our enemy

POPSAmerican Hero: Lt. Michael Murphy and Bill O'Reilly Pro USA means kissing ass in order to put a positive spin on Bush total failure as a president and leader. If Fox is so pro military, pro American, maybe they should devout time every night and report on every American casualty, instead of just the Medal Of Honor recipients. Oh, but wait, we can't do that that may make general public uncomfortable. This is just a Fox attempt at pushing forward their agenda utilizing the senseless death of one of many Americans, in exactly the same way they accuse the liberal media of doing. O Reilly is yet another worthless bag of hot conservative air tiring desperately the justify his morally corrupt position.

POPSSEAL Awarded Medal of Honor There's not a more deserving warrior patriot. I read of his courage under fire as written by the survivor mentioned, his fellow SEAL and best friend, Marcus Luttrell, in his book Lone Survivor. They were all incredible men, thus it was an incredible loss.

POPSFriday Fun: Waterproof your electronics Navy SEAL-style I dunno, it could be useful for something...I think its kinda neat anyhow..I wonder about those super ultra sheer polyurethane condoms? I can't afford an underwater lens for my camera but wouldn't this create a neat effect for artistic purposes? Call it gross but even a vaseline sheen over the rubber. Could be a really cool effect.

POPSAmerican filmmaker sues Rumsfeld over detention in Iraq "Human rights monitors note that the vast majority of the over 15,000 detainees in U.S. military custody in Iraq have never been charged, tried, provided counsel, or allowed to challenge their detention in court, and over one-fifth of them have been detained for over a year in this manner," the suit states.
