POPSGallup Daily: Obama Back in the Lead I'm not yet vindicated, but I'm halfway there. I've been saying that McCain's numbers are a post-convention bounce -- that they'd come down again. I've also been saying that McCain knows this and that's why he's not acting like a candidate who's winning . McCain is trending downward and, although bad economic news probably doesn't help, that trend began before Monday . As it has been throughout, this election is Barack Obama's to lose.

POPSSurvey shows Obama 51 percent More than six in 10 African Americans now rate race relations as "not so good" or "poor," while 53 percent of whites hold more positive views. Opinions are also divided along racial lines, though less so, on whether blacks face discrimination. There is more similarity on feelings of personal racial prejudice: Thirty percent of whites and 34 percent of blacks admit such sentiments. At the same time, there is an overwhelming public openness to the idea of electing an African American to the presidency. In a Post-ABC News poll last month, nearly nine in 10 whites said they would be comfortable with a black president. While fewer whites, about two-thirds, said they would be "entirely comfortable" with it, that was more than double the percentage of all adults who said they would be so at ease with someone entering office for the first time at age 72, which McCain (R-Ariz.) would do should he prevail in November.

POPSThe Narrative on "White Voters" is Fiction They've swallowed the Clinton racially-obsessed spin, hook, line and sinker. Not since Ronald Reagan has an American presidential candidate withstood such an assault in the media and seen his popularity not hurt by it, but, rather, galvanized by it. That's what is meant, in politics, by the term "Teflon." Those facts won't stop many media (and Internet) talking heads from continuing - whether out of gullibility or intentional dishonesty - to prop up the "white voters" narrative, but it ought to inoculate you, kind reader, from believing it. Don't let yourself get upset when some idiot repeats the false media narrative. Don't plead with them to tell the truth (they won't; remember, they're either stupid or dishonest). Mock them. Ridicule them. Expose them as the lightweights they are showing themselves to be, with all the confidence that understanding the hard data ought to provide you.

POPS58% Majority Of Voters View Clinton Favorably Or Neutrally…Media Refuses To Report It This is, of course, a fancy way of saying “we didn’t get the results we wanted the first time, so we went back and found some more black people who would tell us how much they hate the bitch.” With the right Wright answers finally in hand, the announced results found Mrs. Clinton with a 37% positive rating and a 48% negative rating. Obama had a 49% positive rating and a 32% negative rating. The national media spin of Obama thus continues with lame pundits convincing themselves that the country doesn’t mind the anti-White, anti-American rantings of the Democratic frontrunner’s chosen father figure and closest adviser since 1988. NBC, home of such translucent Hillary haters as Keith Blowbermann and the perpetually lipless Chris Matthews — joined with conservative mouthpiece The Wall Street Journal to produce a poll — prObama (in the case of NBC) and anti-Clinton (in the case of the WSJ).

POPSNew clothes for your blog Do you agree that the quality of clothes you wear has direct relation to the degree of impression that you create in someone's mind. Its a kind of ratings effect. Likewise when someone lands on one of your blogs pages, the first thing that his mind will register are the images and colors that your site present to him. If you have a great post but your blog theme has registered a negative impact on the visitors mind he is not likely to remember your blog. He may not bookmark it. Your blog fades from his memory and you have lost a potential long time client. So what should I do about it, you ask? To put it simply, get some new clothes for your blog. A great mind in shabby clothes will not create a lasting impression. Get some great looking template for your blog. Dress it up and watch as you begin to retain those drifters from the WWW.

POPSHillary on Rove Obession When Hillary "vast right wing conspiracy" speaks on obsession, one ought to listen well. It seems that at least she has succeeded in making sure that her husband isn't obsessed with her, so maybe she will be able to have some success with Rove as well. It always seems clear that at least for Hillary it is indeed always all about Hillary. Interesting how given the NYT, Washington Post, NPR, CBS, CNN, MSNBC ... and a cast of 100's, poor Hillary laments the "attack machine". Oh, that is right, to agree with Hillary is to be "factual", to disagree with her is to be part of "conspiracy" and "attack machines". Just the kind of level headed ration view of the world that many will find as a big improvement in leadership.

POPSNielsens: Record Lows for the Networks Anyone watch network TV? I watch the History Channel, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, and occasionally PBS. All that's on the networks seem to be trash. I'd rather have my internet on all day than the TV. What am I missing?

POPSBush Approval Rating at 28%--Congress Ain't Much Better With the war in Iraq raging on without an end in site, gas prices at over $3.00 per gallon, and scandals plaguing the White House is it any wonder that Bush's approval rating is falling? This lame duck president acts as if he has no responsibility to the electorate, supports those that benefit themselves at the expense of the rest of us, and continues to send Americans to fight and die in the quagmire of Iraq. The only saving grace for Bush is that the Congressional approval rating was a whopping 27% (35% for Democrats and 22% for Republicans.) What is clear is that no one very much likes our government. What I think is not liked is the partisan politics played out in 30 second sound bites that amount to nothing more than shouting matches. Civility in politics has gone the way of the dodo bird. We are all diminished by that fact.
