POPSThe Neocon Welfare State When most people think of neoconservatism, they think of foreign policy. More specifically, they define neocons by their insistence on "Hard Wilsonian," might makes right desire for aggressive war. But neoconservatism is a total package, and they know that Big Government abroad requires Big Government at home. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that neoconservatives are also strong backers of the welfare state.

POPSAtlantic International Partnership Headlines: China as Number One? Don’t Bet Your Bottom Dollar Tired of Afghanistan and all those messy, oil-ish wars in the Greater Middle East that just don’t seem to pan out? Count on one thing: part of the U.S. military feels just the way you do, especially a largely sidelined Navy — and that’s undoubtedly one of the reasons why, a few months back, the specter of China as this country’s future enemy once again reared its ugly head. Back before 9/11, China was, of course, the favored future uber-enemy of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and all those neocons who signed onto the Project for the New American Century and later staffed George W. Bush’s administration. After all, if you wanted to build a military beyond compare to enforce a long-term Pax Americana on the planet, you needed a nightmare enemy large enough to justify all the advanced weapons systems in which you planned to invest.

POPSWar on Libya: Neocons Push for Iraq and Kosovo 2.0, and Get It "Operation Libyan Freedom" would be too obvious. "Follow the Dots" from three very different sources and you will begin to see that we are being lied to again, with Obama playing a low-key role, as if this is an "international decision", when without the U.S. military involvement it would be absolutely nothing. (I know, France and Britain pushed for it.....publicly that is...first). But the "powers that be", including the Neoconservatives who brought us Iraq via "WMD threat", have ramped up the propaganda to make this another "necessary" war (under pretense of "no fly zone" operation only) to "defend civilians" (as if the U.S. is not the largest military instigator of "collateral damage"). And again the MSM and pro-Zionist Media are cheer leading, just like they did for Iraq (Bush) and Kosovo (Clinton) wars. Get it yet? Analyst: "This not just a no fly zone operation".

POPSThe Wars That Keep On Giving Let us hope that We-The-People will never have to be a party to such horrendous decisions made on our behalf from an unscrupulous few who have the power (GIVEN BY US) to use us to fulfill their sick fantasies. (Forgive me for my cynicism but I really believe it will never end, we will always be used by the powers that be.) POPSThe empire strikes again With AUI-S in contemporary Kurdistan, however, it was back to square one, ideologically speaking. Oil -- or "The Prize" as it is often called -- was once again the business at hand. This time, access to The Prize was given to George W. Bush’s good friend and contributor, the Texan Ray Hunt, whose Kurdish oil concession is potentially worth billions of dollars. And from the beginning, the academic component of this particular foreign foothold has been plagued by problems far worse than the usual disarray that attends any new university venture. That’s because the people setting it up were missionaries of a uniquely postmodern variety.
